Nowadays atmospheric Global Circulation Models (GCMs) are the main tools to study changing climate. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MENR) led in 2005 the First Communication in Climate Change of Venezuela, using the outputs of 16 GCMs at a global scale (resolution of 5°x 5°) whose projections estimate increasing temperature and diminishing precipitation in the coming years. Each GCM gives different results, generating uncertainty in the future changing climate signal. This work uses a Bayesian approach and an extension of the Reliability Ensemble Average (REA) (Tebaldi et al. 2005) method, combining the outputs (present and future) of precipitation and temperature of the 16 GCMs with observations of present climate conditions, to determine the probability distributions of future changing climate change for these two climate variables in 9 regions in Venezuela. For this study, two criteria are used: bias, which considers the difference between the model outputs and the present climate; and convergence, which quantifies the differences among the simulated changes of future climate by multiple models. The main result of this work is that a large amount of uncertainty still exists in the GCMs projections, since they as yet do not include all aspects of the climate system functioning. It was also concluded that the lower the natural variability in the climate variable, the more effective is its projection.El problema del cambio climático es uno de los grandes problemas ambientales que enfrenta la humanidad, ya que ligeras variaciones en las variables climáticas pueden traer graves consecuencias en las actividades económicas y el bienestar humano en general. Hoy en día los modelos de circulación general (MCG) de la atmósfera son la principal herramienta para estudiar los cambios climáticos. El Ministerio del Ambiente y de los Recursos Naturales (MARN) lideró en el año 2005 la Primera Comunicación Nacional en Cambio Climático de Venezuela, utilizando salidas de 16 MCGs a escala global (resolución de 5°x 5°), cuyas proyecciones estiman incrementos para la temperatura y disminución en la precipitación para los próximos años. Cada MCG arroja diferentes resultados generando incertidumbre en la señal del cambio climático futuro. Este trabajo utiliza un enfoque Bayesiano y una extensión del método Reliability Ensemble Average (REA) (Tebaldi et al. 2005), combinando las salidas (presente y futura) de precipitación y temperatura de los 16 MCG con observaciones de las condiciones climáticas actuales, con el fin de determinar las distribuciones de probabilidad del cambio climático futuro para estas dos variables climáticas en nueve regiones de Venezuela. The granules of Colocasia antiquorum presented a truncated ellipsoidal shape. The chemical composition analysis showed levels of moisture, ash, protein, fat, fiber, and NFE in a dry base of 10.29, 0.18, 2.0, 0.05, 0.01, and 97.76, respectively, as well as amylose and amylopectin contents of 13.05 and 86.95%, respectively. Gelatinization temperatures, onset (To), peak (Tp), and final (Tf), were 72.86, 82.91, and 93.05°C, respectively. Solubility, swelling power (SP), and water absorption capacity (WAC) correlate directly with increments in temperature. Transmittance value (% T) for taro coconut was 0.3% and its apparent viscosity ranged from 100 to 150 cp. The nutritional characterization of Colocasia antiquorum’s starch amounted to 97.88% of total starch (TS), while available (AS) and resistant starch (RS) were 93.47 and 3.70%, respectively. Colocasia antiquorum, grown in Oaxaca, Mexico, is an unconventional source of starch with added value due to its potential use as an ingredient in the development of new products or as a substitute for conventional starch sources in industrial processes. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar comparativamente la cinética de la deshidratación Osmótica (DO) y por Flujo de Aire Caliente (DAC) de la Piña (Ananas Comosus, variedad Cayena lisa) para la Agroindustria. Durante el análisis se determinaron las propiedades físico-mecánicas de las frutas frescas y de los cubos deshidratadas (masa, firmeza, talla, pH, y contenido de sólidos solubles (SSC)), posteriormente las frutas fueron troceadas en cubos de 1 x 5 ±0.02 cm para ser sometidas a tratamientos de Deshidratación Osmótica (DO) (60 °C durante 10 h) y por Deshidratación por Flujo de Aire Caliente (DAC) (60°C durante 5 h). Se monitoreó además la variación de la masa, la firmeza y el porcentaje de pérdida de peso durante ambos procesos. Para el procesamiento estadístico de los datos se utiliza el software especializado Statgraphics Plus en su versión 5.1. Como resultado se obtuvo que la variabilidad alcanzada a partir de la diferencia entre los valores iniciales y finales de la masa, firmeza y el aumento del porcentaje de pérdida de peso fue inferior para la fruta sometida al proceso tecnológico de DO con valores de 49,4; 86 y 64,17%, que para la obtenida por DAC con valores 80; 88,3; y 80%, respectivamente, resultando también el método que mayor variabilidad aportó entre las propiedades estudiadas. Between climatic stations the diet of the river otter did not vary significantly, whereas between rivers it presented significant variation. The river otter showed specialization in the consumption of trout. The trout farms have influenced the diet of the river otter, and appear as key for the permanence of the otter in the study zone. Os índices de dominância de Simpson e Berger-Parker foram mais representativos no Santuário de Schoenstatt, com maior número de espécies abundantes. Foram registradas em Frederico Westphalen 126 (74,55%) espécies acidentais, 25 acessórias (14,80%) e 18 constantes (10,65%).A systematic survey was carried out in two localities of the Municipal District of Frederico Westphalen, fragment of Villa Faguense and Schoenstatt's Sanctuary, situated 1,500 m apart, from March 2005 to April 2006. In 140 hours of sampling, 3123 individuals, distributed in 169 species, were registered. Nymphalidae was the most sampled with approximately 53% of the recorded species. Nine species sampled were still no registered for the State. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index was higher in fragment of Villa Faguense, place less disturbed. The Simpson and Berger-Parker dominance indexes had been more representative in fragment of Schoenstatt Sanctuary, with higher number of abundant species. Among the species captured 126 (74,55%) are accidental, 25 (14,80%) are accessory and 18 (10,65%) are constant.
