Según la evaluación del ciclo de vida usando la metodología ISO 14044 para las diferentes categorías de impacto que se evaluaron, se concluye que la actividad con el mayor impacto ambiental es la extracción de aceite de la palma. Hay cargas favorables para el medio ambiente que se producen por la recirculación de insumos como el metanol; asimismo, en la fase de reacción, se generó glicerina, este subproducto se utiliza en la industria farmacéutica. Soil loss was determined by the ditch of runoff. Mechanical traction affected the soil physical properties negatively, that became evident in the increment of losses with the runoff. The bigger loss of soil was correlated with MT use and it diminished to the 50 % with HTT: (MT 6.12 tha–1 year–1; CMT 5.0 tha–1 year–1; ATT 3.7 tha–1 year–1 and HTT 2.73 tha–1 year–1). Los tratamientos se evaluaron usando un diseño de bloques completos al azar con tres repeticiones. La pérdida de suelo se determinó por medio de canaletas de escorrentía. La información se analizó por medio de una matriz de cambio para cada propiedad física. La tracción mecánica afectó negativamente las propiedades físicas del suelo, lo que se evidenció en el incremento de pérdidas por escorrentía. Podemos relacionar o aumento no nível de informação sobre a questão ambiental à tomada de decisão responsável sobre a adoção de medidas necessárias para diminuir a exploração de recursos naturais, uma vez que a exploração indiscriminada desses recursos tem resultado em grandes alterações climáticas que se manifestam por meio de catástrofes ambientais. Nesse sentido, destaca-se a função social do jornalista, em virtude de seu ofício democratizador que torna a informação acessível e preza pela qualidade. Para avaliar essa problemática, utilizaremos a análise de conteúdo, por ser um dos métodos mais eficientes para levantar informação, tendo como base os princípios gerais do jornalismo ambiental. O método consiste no recolhimento e análise de textos jornalísticos publicados de setembro de 2016 a março de 2017 sobre problemas ambientais no Rio Grande do Sul com o objetivo de fazer inferências sobre seus conteúdos e formatos enquadrando-os na categorias de análise Independência, buscando contribuir com a qualidade da informação ambiental. ABSTRACT In this article we present a study on the journalistic coverage of the online newspaper 'Correio do Povo', in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, related to the environment, trying to evaluate if the press was able to inform readers effectively about environmental issues and its unfolding in the South of the country. We can relate the increase in the level of information on the environmental issue to responsible decision making on the adoption of measures necessary to reduce the exploitation of natural resources, since the indiscriminate exploitation of these resources has resulted in major climatic changes that occur through environmental catastrophes. In this sense, the social function of the journalist stands out, because of his democratizing office that makes information accessible and prizes for quality. In order to evaluate this problem, we will use content analysis as one of the most efficient methods to collect information, based on the general principles of environmental journalism. The method consists of the collection and analysis of journalistic texts published from September 2016 to March 2017 on environmental problems in Rio Grande do Sul in order to make inferences about their contents and formats by categorizing them into categories of analysis, seeking to contribute to the quality of environmental information. RESUMEN En este artículo presentamos un estudio sobre la cobertura periodística del diario on-line 'Correio do Povo', del Estado de Rio Grande do Sul, relacionadas con el medio ambiente, buscando evaluar si la prensa ha logrado informar eficientemente a los lectores sobre cuestiones ambientales y sus desdoblamientos Sur del país. Podemos relacionar el aumento en el nivel de información sobre la cuestión ambiental a la toma de decisión responsable sobre la adopción de medidas necesarias para disminuir la explotación de recursos naturales, ya que la explotación indiscriminada de esos recursos ha resultado en grandes cambios climáticos que se manifiestan por medio de catástrofes medioambientales. En ese sentido, se destaca la función social del periodista, en virtud de su oficio democratizador que hace la información accesible y aprecia por la calidad. Para evaluar esta problemática, utilizaremos el análisis de contenido, por ser uno de los métodos más eficientes para levantar información, teniendo como base los principios generales del periodismo ambiental. El método consiste en la recogida y análisis de textos periodísticos publicados de septiembre de 2016 a marzo de 2017 sobre problemas ambientales en Rio Grande do Sul con el objetivo de hacer inferencias sobre sus contenidos y formatos encuadrándolos en categorías de análisis, buscando contribuir con la aportación calidad de la información ambiental.
