Nos últimos anos houve uma série de transformações que promoveram a reestruturação do sistema agroindustrial do leite. Este trabalho analisa os produtores de leite dos municípios de Peabiru e Quinta do Sol, ambos no Estado do Paraná, avaliando se estes vêm se adequando a estas mudanças. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que são pouco especializados na produção do leite. Contudo, o processo de exclusão observado em outras localidades ainda não tem ocorrido na região.

Resumo O objetivo é avaliar o estágio de conformidade das universidades federais brasileiras ao requisito da aquisição de produtos da agricultura familiar nos termos do Decreto nº 7.775/2012, delimitando alcances e dilemas para retroalimentar o Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos na modalidade Compra Institucional (PAA-CI). Trata-se de estudo qualitativo-descritivo, com análise de dados secundários (chamadas públicas e resultados) entre 2012 e 2019. A análise dos dados indicou que é limitada e heterogênea a execução do PAA-CI no abastecimento de alimentos para os restaurantes universitários via chamadas públicas, beneficiando um reduzido número de agricultores familiares. Há lacunas em termos de cobertura do Programa e falhas na elaboração das chamadas públicas, o que desestimula a participação dos agricultores familiares e das organizações da agricultura familiar, especialmente dos menos estruturados. Em virtude do caráter recente da legislação, devem ser fomentadas políticas públicas de assistência técnica e extensão rural para a agricultura familiar e ações de capacitação dos gestores públicos de modo a conduzir burocratas a interações com organizações locais, criando e aperfeiçoando fluxos de informações e conhecimentos e retroalimentando políticas públicas de desenvolvimento local integradas às atividades-fim das universidades, de ensino, pesquisa e extensão.

RESUMEN: En este artículo problematizamos el concepto de ciudadanía democrática dado el impacto de las desigualdades sociales en el sistema educativo y, desde una perspectiva política de la alfabetización científica, cuestionamos visiones simplistas sobre la emancipación ciudadana. Con el objetivo de caracterizar cómo ocurren procesos de construcción de ciudadanía crítica y alfabetización científica tendientes a la transformación social, realizamos una investigación de desarrollo en aulas de ciencias naturales. Siguiendo una metodología cualitativa, configuramos casos en función de problemáticas socioambientales relativas a salud y ambiente (huerto agroecológico, dengue/chikungunya/zika y biodiversidad). Así, analizamos, reconocemos y reflexionamos sobre una Didáctica en el territorio de lo público que, desde un abordaje curricular intersticial y de borde, contextualiza las prácticas de enseñanza en problemáticas socioambientales cotidianas.

A grande variabilidade genética presente no germoplasma de feijão (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) em uso na agricultura familiar no Brasil tem sido plenamente reconhecida. A eficiência da conservação e o aproveitamento desta variabilidade aumentam quando esta é devidamente caracterizada. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar a variabilidade genética de parte do germoplasma existente em poder de produtores de feijão no Rio Grande do Sul, e de cultivares produzidas pela pesquisa, e reuni-las em grupos de similaridade genética. Foi avaliada a divergência genética de 37 cultivares locais (land races) e 14 cultivares indicadas pela pesquisa no Estado, utilizando 40 descritores morfológicos; a grande maioria desses descritores são necessários à proteção legal. Empregou-se análise multivariada, por intermédio de componentes principais e método de agrupamento. O uso destas técnicas possibilitou identificar descritores ineficientes ou redundantes no estudo da variabilidade genética e reunir as cultivares estudadas em quatro grupos distintos de similaridade genética. As cultivares locais revelaram variabilidade superior à encontrada nas cultivares oriundas da pesquisa, o que sugere a importância da sua inclusão em programas de melhoramento.

Resumo O trabalho na agricultura vem aumentando as exigências impostas ao trabalhador com o uso de tecnologias. Porém, para atividades agrícolas onde o incremento do uso de tecnologias é limitado, como na agricultura urbana orgânica, pouco se sabe sobre a carga cognitiva da atividade. Atualmente, não há registros de estudos sobre a carga cognitiva de trabalhadores da agricultura urbana orgânica, mesmo porque esse ainda é um movimento tímido. A importância deste estudo reside no fato de aumentar o conhecimento e as informações sobre esta população para fomentar o desenvolvimento da área. O objetivo deste artigo foi relatar as exigências cognitivas impostas a estes trabalhadores de forma a identificar a complexidade do seu trabalho. Para isso, realizou-se um estudo de caso com agricultores urbanos que utilizam práticas orgânicas, comercializam seus produtos e fazem dessa sua atividade econômica principal. Os achados comprovam que a carga cognitiva é elevada, contribuindo para um trabalho complexo para estes agricultores. Assim, a importância em ampliar os estudos para validar as informações encontradas e contribuir para a construção de políticas públicas efetivas é urgente.

O trabalho analisa a importância do cultivo de frutas como alternativa para o aumento de renda da agricultura familiar, no contexto dos financiamentos concedidos pelo PRONAF. Os resultados evidenciaram que o recurso financeiro foi a variável que mais limitou a escolha dos agricultores. Maracujá, goiaba e pinha foram identificadas como as melhores alternativas econômicas para os produtores familiares da região. A análise permitiu concluir que a concessão do crédito, pelo PRONAF, contribui para a melhor utilização dos recursos, para a obtenção de maior renda, bem como para a geração de empregos.
