Neste artigo temos como objetivo contextualizar as dificuldades para a legalização sanitária das produções de alimentos artesanais e da agricultura familiar, que tornam-se objeto de intervenção tanto da Política Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional quanto da RDC no 49/2013, da Anvisa. Tomamos como método a revisão de documentos produzidos de agências estatais e organizações sociais, assim como bibliografias teóricas relacionadas à temática. Buscamos relacionar as dificuldades existentes com as transformações nos sistemas alimentares e com o aumento nas preocupações com os riscos sanitários a nível mundial, apontando a complexa interrelação entre cultura, riscos, tecnociência e modelos de desenvolvimento, assim como a presença de fortes interesses econômicos, que desafiam a promoção da saúde pública e da segurança alimentar (food security). Concluímos refletindo sobre a necessidade de uma análise mais integrada e contextualizada dos riscos no caso da produção, processamento, distribuição e consumo de alimentos em pequena escala, que favoreça modelos de produção e padrões de consumo de alimentos ao mesmo tempo mais justos e democráticos, ambientalmente sustentáveis e que tenham a valorização da vida e da saúde como eixos principais.=====================================The aim of this article is to contextualize the difficulties concerning the sanitary legalization of artisanal and family farming products, that have become subject to both the National Policy for Food and Nutrition Safety and the RDC 49/2013 from Anvisa. Our method was to analyse documents from state agencies and social organizations as well as theoretical bibliography on the subject. We relate these difficulties with transformations in food systems and the international concerns about sanitary risks, pointing to complex relations between culture, risks, techno-science and development models, as well as to the strong economic interests that challenge the enhancement of public health and food security. We conclude considering the need of an integrated and contextualized analysis of risks in the case of small-scale production, processing, distribution and consumption of food, favoring production models and patterns of food consumption that are fair, democratic, environmentally sustainable, and that have the appreciation of life and health as its main focus.

Neste trabalho, analiso, a partir de posições regulacionistas a respeito do trabalho infantil, as participações das meninas nas atividades agrícolas em San Ignacio (Missões, Argentina). A partir de referências a um trabalho de campo etnográfico iniciado em 2009, considero como sua incorporação nos fazeres cotidianos dos sítios pode entender-se como experiências formativas, isto é, como parte de um processo de aquisição progressiva de autonomia para o próprio sustento, onde as distinções étnicas, de gênero, de idade e posição social definem certas atividades e saberes como próprios das garotas do campo. Esses conhecimentos sobre o mundo são os que lhes permitem entender, mas também transformar imperceptivelmente e em seu fazer quotidiano, o mundo que as rodeia.

A legislação ambiental, frequentemente, não esta sendo respeitada por pequenos produtores rurais. Este trabalho busca entender as razões para este comportamento a partir da analise das representações sociais da natureza e do meio ambiente deste grupo social. Como resultado constatamos que as representações sociais que formam a base da legislação ambiental não levaram em conta as necessidades básicas para a sobrevivência dos agricultores familiares. Tais necessidades apenas podem ser satisfeitas através do uso de áreas consideradas de alto valor para a preservação do meio natural. Embora os agricultores familiares já incluíram a visão oficial da natureza refletida na legislação ambiental no seu imaginário - formando representações sociais híbridas entre visões de mundo modernas e tradicionais - são as materialidades dos seus modos de vida que explicam as aparentes contradições nos seus atos. Desta forma, consideramos a análise das representações sociais uma ferramenta importante na identificação das razões que levam a violações da legislação, que por sua vez podem indicar conflitos ambientais duradouros entre estes grupos e o aparelho repressivo do Estado.

Regiões semiáridas são consideradas altamente suscetíveis aos impactos adversos da mudança climática. Nesse contexto, o governo federal começou a implementar uma série de medidas para reduzir a vulnerabilidade de grupos menos preparados, como a agricultura familiar, para lidar com futuras mudanças. Baseado numa análise da legislação vigente sobre mudanças climáticas e dos principais documentos oficiais publicados, o presente trabalho identifica cinco fatores de preocupação referentes à atual abordagem que podem impedir uma redução sustentável de vulnerabilidade em áreas de risco no sertão brasileiro. Dado que grande parte da agricultura familiar já está fortemente impactada no contexto da variabilidade climática atual, isso implica que ações que reduzem a sua vulnerabilidade não dependem necessariamente da certeza de futuros impactos climáticos. Assim, medidas que tentam reduzir as existentes vulnerabilidades socioeconômicas e ambientais podem ser mais úteis para tornar a agricultura familiar do Nordeste mais resiliente às mudanças previstas.

Las rizobacterias son un vasto y muy diverso grupo de bacterias que habitan en las inmediaciones de las raíces. Estas desarrollan relaciones tanto benéficas, neutrales e incluso perjudiciales, aunque estas últimas en menor medida. Las interacciones entre las bacterias y las raíces de las plantas han jugado un papel determinante en la adaptación y productividad de las especies vegetales a través del tiempo. Diversos estudios ponen en evidencia que las rizobacterias han mejorado el crecimiento, la producción y la salud de las plantas, directamente: mediante mecanismos que incluyen la asimilación de nutrientes vitales como la fijación de nitrógeno, solubilización de fósforo y potasio, y la fitoestimulación mediante la producción de diversas fitohormonas; e indirectamente: afectando el crecimiento de importantes fitopatógenos, activando la inmunidad en las plantas y mejorando los problemas ocasionados por estrés abiótico. Por su diversidad metabólica las rizobacterias podrían contribuir positivamente en la mejora de la productividad agrícola y la solución de problemas ambientales ocasionados por los métodos utilizados en la agricultura actual. Diversos géneros como: Acidithiobacillus, Aminobacter, Arthrobacter, Azoarcus, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Bacillus, Burkholderia, Clostridium, Enterobacter, Gluconoacetobacter, Pseudomonas, Serratia y Sphingomonas han demostrado su enorme capacidad promotora de crecimiento. Esta revisión proporciona un enfoque sobre los mecanismos mediante los cuales las rizobacterias mejoran el crecimiento de las plantas, su contribución en la agricultura sustentable y su comercialización, un campo que continúa en constante crecimiento.

Avaliou-se a qualidade de mudas de alface em função de substratos com e sem biofertilizante (aplicado aos 6; 12 e 18 dias após germinação) em condições de casa-de-vegetação. O experimento foi conduzido em esquema fatorial inteiramente casualizado: 3 cultivares (Babá-de-Verão, Grand Rapids e Grandes Lagos) x 3 tipos de substratos (areia lavada, composto orgânico e substrato comercial Plantmax®) x 2 (com e sem biofertilizante), com quatro repetições. A avaliação foi feita aos 24 dias da germinação através de número de folhas, altura da parte aérea, comprimento da raiz, massa seca da parte aérea e massa seca da raiz. Houve efeito isolado dos fatores cultivares e substratos para número de folhas e comprimento da raiz. Houve efeito de interação cultivares x substratos para altura da parte aérea, massa seca da parte aérea e massa seca da raiz. Dentre as variáveis analisadas a cultivar Grand Rapids e o substrato composto orgânico foi a que obteve melhor resultado. Não houve influência significativa da aplicação de biofertilizante.The quality of lettuce seedlings depending on substrates and biofertilizer addition (at 6; 12 and 18 days after germination), under greenhouse conditions was evaluated. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized factorial scheme: 3 cultivars (Babá-de-Verão, Grand Rapids and Great Lakes) x 3 substrates (washed sand, organic compost and commercial substrate Plantmax®) x 2 (with and without biofertilizer addition), with four replications. The evaluation was done on 24-day old seedlings through number of leaves, shoot height, root length, shoot dry mass and root dry mass. There was an isolated effect for cultivars and substrates with regard to the number of leaves and root length. There was cultivars x substrates interaction effect for shoot height, shoot dry mass and root dry mass. The best result was obtained with cultivar Grands Rapids grown in organic compost. There were no significant effects of biofertilizer addition with respect to the evaluated variables.

O artigo enfoca como as mulheres agricultoras, ao terem acesso a direitos sociais, especialmente à Previdência Social, lidam com a normatização e a regulamentação dos processos de nascimento, envelhecimento e morte. O objetivo é analisar as dificuldades e as estratégias que as mulheres utilizam para cumprirem as exigências legais de comprovação do trabalho na agricultura familiar através de documentos civis e profissionais. A pesquisa foi realizada nos municípios de Santa Cruz da Baixa Verde e Triunfo, situados no Sertão de Pernambuco, Nordeste do Brasil. A ausência de documentos é reveladora dos parâmetros de modernidade instaurados no país e deve ser entendida à luz das intersecções de gênero, classe, raça, etnia e critérios geopolíticos.The article focuses on how peasant and worker women deal with norms and rules about birth, ageing and death, in the process of getting access to social rights, especially to Social Security. The aim is to analyze difficulties and strategies used by women in order to comply with the legal demands of proof of work experience in family farming by way of civil and professional documents. Research was undertaken in the municipalities of Santa Cruz da Baixa Verde and Triunfo, in the Pernambuco Sertão in Northeast Brazil. The absence of documents reveals how parameters of modernity are installed in the nation, understanding them as necessarily related to gender, class, race, ethnicity and geopolitical criteria.

Neste trabalho o objetivo foi avaliar o desempenho agronômico de algodão orgânico e oleaginosas consorciados com a palma forrageira no semiárido paraibano. No ano agrícola de 2009 foram conduzidos dois experimentos, em duas áreas: (I) na Fazenda Vila Maria Rita, situada no município de Taperoá, no cariri paraibano (II) no Assentamento Queimadas localizado em Remígio, no Curimataú paraibano enquanto os tratamentos, divididos em cultivo solteiro e consorciado, foram: algodão + gergelim + palma forrageira; algodão + amendoim + palma forrageira; algodão + palma forrageira; algodão solteiro; gergelim solteiro; girassol solteiro; amendoim solteiro e palma forrageira solteira. As variáveis analisadas foram: características tecnológicas de fibras, produtividade (grãos/caroço), rendimento em óleo, rendimento em fibra, renda bruta e uso eficiente da terra (UET) parcial e total. Para o rendimento em fibra o consórcio algodão + palma forrageira proporcionou o melhor resultado (311,14 kg ha-1) enquanto o amendoim solteiro apresentou maior rendimento em grãos (967,00 kg ha-1) e em óleo (428,02 kg ha-1). O consórcio algodão + gergelim + palma forrageira pode ser uma alternativa eficiente na agricultura familiar uma vez que apresentou resultados positivos em termos de renda bruta e UET total.

A manutenção e/ou a ampliação da terra compõem o eixo central em torno do qual os produtores familiares organizam sua vida e seu trabalho. Este artigo analisa as estratégias desses produtores em relação à divisão de herança e à sucessão, e as formas que utilizam para aquisição de novas áreas. O levantamento das características das famílias e da propriedade foi realizado por meio de um questionário aplicado junto a 89 produtores familiares de três municípios da mesorregião de São José do Rio Preto (SP). Posteriormente foi entrevistado um terço dos produtores de cada município que havia respondido ao questionário. A análise das estratégias fundiárias mostrou uma grande diversidade na forma de partilhar a herança e de conduzir a sucessão, sendo que ambos os processos são apoiados, basicamente, em regras tradicionais, embora mantenham uma fachada de adequação às normas legais. Quanto às estratégias de aquisição de mais terras, observou-se que os produtores são capazes de organizar complexas formas de capitalização, centradas em maiores esforços no trabalho e na contenção de gastos, além da utilização de políticas públicas favoráveis e de práticas costumeiras. Os arranjos intra-familiares e as formas de cooperação ligadas ao parentesco mais amplo também se mostraram importantes para a ampliação da propriedade.The maintenance and/or expansion of land form the central axle along which family farming organize their livelihood and work.. This paper analyzes these producers' strategies that are related to division of inheritance and succession, and the forms of acquisition of new areas. The survey on the characteristics of families and property was carried out by a questionnaire in 89 familiar producers of three cities of São José do Rio Preto (SP) region. Next, one third of those answering the questionnaire were interviewed in the same cities. The analysis of agrarian strategies showed a great diversity in the manner of inheritance sharing and conducting succession; although being basically supported in both processes by traditional rules they seem to follow the legal the legal rules. Regarding to acquisition strategies of more land, it was noticed that producers are able to organize complex forms of capitalization, which are centralized in bigger efforts at work and containment of expenses, besides the use of favorable public policies and customary practices. The intra-familiar arrangements and the forms of kinship cooperation also appeared as equally important to the property expansion.
