Sin embargo, dicho sentido comenzó a ser cuestionado y contestado por actores de la sociedad civil, tanto a escala global como en contextos domésticos particulares. En este artículo se describe el proceso de localización del principio de las responsabilidades comunes, pero diferenciadas, en el discurso doméstico brasilero de la sociedad civil organizada sobre cambio climático entre los años 2005 y 2015, desde una perspectiva constructivista de las Relaciones Internacionales. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se plantean las diversas interpretaciones y reinterpretaciones del principio por parte de actores no estatales en Brasil. Abstract The principle of common but differentiated responsibilities has been a constitutive norm since the origins of the global climate policy. The traditional interpretation of this norm maintains that different levels of environmental protection should be expected between developed countries and emerging and/or developing countries. However, this interpretation began to be questioned and challenged by civil society actors, both globally and in particular domestic contexts. This article describes the process of localization of the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities in the Brazilian domestic discourse of organized civil society on climate change between the years 2005 and 2015, from a constructivist perspective of International Relations. To achieve this objective, the different interpretations and reinterpretations of the principle by non-state actors in Brazil are presented.

Con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre diversidad y distribución vertical de la macrofauna edáfica, y propiedades físico-químicas del suelo, se llevó a cabo un estudio en predios de la Universidad Nacional Agraria. Los ensayos tuvieron una duración de 9 meses, en los que se implementaron prácticas de manejo agroecológico, y manejo convencional en ocho unidades experimentales con dimensiones de 15 m x 30 m, seleccionadas de manera aleatoria. La metodología de muestreo fue la desarrollada por el Programa Internacional Biología y Fertilidad del Suelo Tropical. Fueron levantados 12 monolitos de 25 cm x 25 cm por práctica de manejo, a una profundidad de 30 centímetros. Se realizó identificación taxonómica a nivel de Phylum, clase, orden y familia; así como de grupos funcionales detritívoros, ingenieros del suelo, herbívoros y depredadores. Fue registrada mayor densidad de macrofauna en el sistema de conversión agroecológica (7424 ind/m2) en comparación al sistema de manejo convencional (1984 ind/m2), con alta concentración de individuos (7488 ind/m2) en los primeros 20 centímetros del perfil; y densidad proporcional del 56.2% en la profundidad 0 a 10 centímetros. Taxonómicamente se determinó dominancia de la clase Insecta en ambos sistemas de manejo. La distribución de familias de la macrofauna edáfi ca fue diferente entre sistemas, con evidente influencia del rol por profundidad de muestreo. El grupo funcional ingenieros del suelo predominó en conversión agroecológica; mientras los detritívoros lo hicieron en manejo convencional. Fue determinada la infl uencia de la calidad de micro hábitat en las propiedades físico-químicas del suelo con el componente biológico; demostrándose efecto de las prácticas de manejo sobre la densidad, diversidad y distribución de la macrofauna edáfica.

En este trabajo se presenta el análisis del índice de área foliar (LAI) la fracción absorbida de la radiación fotosintéticamente activa (fPAR) y el índice normalizado de vegetación (NDVI) para cuatro ecorregiones en la provincia de Guanacaste. Estas variables biofísicas son elementos esenciales para comprender los procesos fenológicos de los ecosistemas en el marco del cambio climático. Los análisis por ecorregión se basaron en la descomposición de las series de tiempo en tres componentes: estacionalidad, tendencia y residuos. Las series de tiempo se procesaron de los productos de la plataforma del Espectroradiómetro de imágenes de resolución media “ModerateResolutionImagingSpectroradiometer”, “MODIS” y se usó la plataforma EarthEngine con una resolución temporal de 16 días y con un tamaño de píxel de 500 m. Las curvas de tendencia de fPAR, LAI y NDVI son muy similares para las ecorregiones, por lo que para futuros estudios no es necesario analizar las tres variables. Estas muestran una homogeneidad internamente y se diferencian bien unas de otras, sin embargo, tanto los bosques húmedos estacionales como los bosques secos del pacífico, se comportan en forma muy similar en cuanto a los máximos y mínimos con relación a la tendencia. El descomponer las series de tiempo en tendencia y estacionalidad es una buena forma de análisis para realizar monitoreo, relacionar las variables biofísicas y su productividad con otros elementos climáticos, como por ejemplo, el efecto ENOS.

Multidisciplinary ocean observing activities provide critical ocean information to satisfy ever-changing socioeconomic needs and require coordinated implementation. The upper oxycline (transition between high and low oxygen waters) is fundamentally important for the ecosystem structure and can be a useful proxy for multiple observing objectives connected to eastern boundary systems (EBSs) that neighbor oxygen minimum zones (OMZs). The variability of the oxycline and its impact on the ecosystem (VOICE) initiative demonstrates how societal benefits drive the need for integration and optimization of biological, biogeochemical, and physical components of regional ocean observing related to EBS. In liaison with the Global Ocean Oxygen Network, VOICE creates a roadmap toward observation-model syntheses for a comprehensive understanding of selected oxycline-dependent objectives. Local to global effects, such as habitat compression or deoxygenation trends, prompt for comprehensive observing of the oxycline on various space and time scales, and for an increased awareness of its impact on ecosystem services. Building on the Framework for Ocean Observing (FOO), we present a first readiness level assessment for ocean observing of the oxycline in EBS. This was to determine current ocean observing design and future needs in EBS regions (e.g., the California Current System, the Equatorial Eastern Pacific off Ecuador, the Peru–Chile Current system, the Northern Benguela off Namibia, etc.) building on the FOO strategy. We choose regional champions to assess the ocean observing design elements proposed in the FOO, namely, requirement processes, coordination of observational elements, and data management and information products and the related best practices. The readiness level for the FOO elements was derived for each EBS through a similar and very general ad hoc questionnaire. Despite some weaknesses in the questionnaire design and its completion, an assessment was achievable. We found that fisheries and ecosystem management are a societal requirement for all regions, but maturity levels of observational elements and data management and information products differ substantially. Identification of relevant stakeholders, developing strategies for readiness level improvements, and building and sustaining infrastructure capacity to implement these strategies are fundamental milestones for the VOICE initiative over the next 2–5 years and beyond.

Between 2012 and 2013, a rapid assessment of co-management was carried out in the three Areas of Regional conservation of the Loreto region, administered by the Regional Government through the Program of Conservation, Management, and Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity in of the Loreto Region (PROCREL). The objective was to determine the levels of implementation of the concept of co-management in Areas of Regional conservation in a context of climate change and its main productive ecosystems. The results showed that there was a co-management construction process at a basic stage in which institutions such as management committees or resource management committees were being created, which in some cases duplicated tasks with other similar institutions created by actors external to the Areas of Regional conservation and that had not yet been considered in the co-management model. The three Areas of Regional conservation have different realities and, therefore, management should not be standardized; this invites the creation of different co-management strategies, but at the same time a critique is made of the role of the State, represented by PROCREL, in its role of promoter of co-management by neglecting criteria of power sharing and citizen control. Climate change is a growing threat factor in Areas of Regional conservation and is reflected in the problems regularly identified in their production systems, creating co-management models that allow delegating adaptation and mitigation tasks and dividing risks between the different actors is key.

Las papas kurau, presentan atributos importantes, como resistencia a plagas y enfermedades, tolerancia a sequías. Sin embargo, pocas son las familias que cultivan. Se desconoce la fenología de esta papa bajo condiciones del Valle Huallaga, considerando las variaciones del Cambio Climático. Este estudio determinó el número de días en cada una de las cinco fases fenológicas, empleando seis morfotipos de papas kurau provenientes de las provincias Huánuco y Ambo. Se instalaron en el Instituto de Investigación Frutícola y Olerícola de la Escuela Académico Profesional de Agronomía. Las evaluaciones se hicieron desde la siembra hasta la cosecha, correlacionando con datos meteorológicos de la estación ubicada en el mismo lugar. De los seis morfotipos sembrados, sobrevivieron y desarrollaron cuatro: Tumbo luxo, Manca luxo, Jara kurao o Kurau rosado y Simona kurau. Se determinó los días de emergencia, brotes laterales, tuberización y maduración. No se presenció la fase de floración. Los morfotipos Jara kurau y Tumbo luxo, se comportaron como precoces, con 74 y 75 días respectivamente; mientas que Simona kurau y Manca luxo, se comportaron como tardías con 78 y 79 días en el total de su fenología. Es el primer trabajo sobre la fenología de morfotipos de Papa kurau.

Se analizan las causas de las inundaciones en la RMBA. Este fenómeno constituye el principal factor de peligrosidad natural de la región.En las últimas décadas sus impactos han aumentado significativamente, algo generalmente atribuido al cambio climático. Sin embargo, esta contribución analiza otras posibles causas, esencialmente relacionadas con la ocupación del espacio. La ausencia de planes de ordenamiento territorial y la ineficacia y escasez de las medidas de mitigación implementadas hasta el presente es notoria. Las medidas adoptadas, casi exclusivamente de tipo estructural, han mostrado sus limitaciones. Por otro lado, es evidente la falta de medidas no-estructurales de mitigación, las cuales podrían ser más eficientes en sus resultados. Esta cuestión plantea la necesidad de realizar una revisión crítica de las políticas implementadas así como un cambio de paradigma. Este trabajo analiza los restos de mamíferos hallados en los niveles Magdaleniense, Aziliense, Mesolítico y Calcolítico de la Cueva de La Fragua (Santoña, Cantabria). En el nivel Magdaleniense existe una economia dual centralizada en la caza del ciervo y la cabra. A partir del nivel Aziliense y sobre todo en el Mesolítico, a raíz del cambio climático, empieza a hacerse patente la diversificación de recursos con la relevancia que adquieren taxones como el corzo y el jabalí, además de restos de malacofauna terrestre y marina. Una zanja en época Calcolítica (datada a partir de los restos cerámicos en ella recogidos) corta parcialmente parte de los cuadros excavados. Aparecen restos de animales domésticos. Esta zanja debió realizarse con fines sepulcrales a tenor de los retos humanos en ella encontrados. Gran parte de los restos muestran trazas antrópicas, huellas de alteraciones naturales y actividades de carnívoros y roedores que se han estudiado en un detallado análisis tafonómico. Además, gracias a un Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) que se ha aplicado al análisis arqueozoológico de esta cueva se ha podido observar de una manera muy gráfica la distribución de cada uno de los restos en los diferentes niveles, lo cual ha permitido avanzar en el conocimiento de las unidades sociales de consumo y de los diversos pobladores que ocuparon esta cueva en las distintas etapas.

Para la Región Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile (RMS), el cambio climático implica diferentes impactos que se suman a la continua expansión urbana y a cambios en los patrones de uso del suelo, los cuales a su vez acrecientan las amenazas hidroclimáticas, como las inundaciones y el calor extremo. En general, estos cambios tendrán notables consecuencias para la vulnerabilidad residencial. Especialmente las familias de bajos recursos y los asentamientos ilegales en grandes ciudades con crecimiento acelerado suelen ser los más vulnerables, debido a una mayor exposición y a una limitada capacidad de respuesta. Este artículo contrasta posiciones teóricas sobre las dimensiones socioeconómicas, físico-constructivas y urbano-rurales de la vulnerabilidad con evidencias empíricas, para entender quiénes son los más afectados por las inundaciones y el calor extremo en la Rms. Como muestran los resultados del estudio, las posiciones teóricas no se reflejan en los análisis cuantitativos. La vulnerabilidad depende de cada contexto y requiere políticas adecuadas para distintos territorios.
