Los resultados  muestran que las centrales FV contribuyen a reducir los impactos en calentamiento  global, ecotoxicidad marina y potencial de eutrofización, dependencia a la importación,  y toxicidad humana, mientras el costo eléctrico nivelado y costo total de capital  presentan variaciones más discretas. Sánchez-Moral Description An account of the resource Los intercambios de CO2 entre atmósfera y ecosistemas, así como los procesos que intervienen en dichos intercambios, son de vital interés para la caracterización del ciclo global del carbono y la repercusión del calentamiento global sobre estos ecosistemas naturales. En ecosistemas de origen carbonatado, los procesos biológicos de fotosíntesis y respiración interactúan con procesos de ventilación de cavidades y de disolución y precipitación de carbonatos que pueden incluso dominar el intercambio de CO2 en determinadas épocas del año. En este trabajo, se usó la técnica de eddy covariance junto con análisis de los isótopos estables de carbono y medidas de flujo de CO2 de suelo y otras variables meteorológicas, para determinar la procedencia del CO2 intercambiado. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que el ecosistema actúa como sumidero o fuente de CO2 en función de las condiciones meteorológicas y la época del año. Bajo condiciones óptimas de temperatura y recursos hídricos, la huella isotópica del carbono (d13C) del aire alcanza valores muy negativos indicando un origen biológico del intercambio. En épocas de sequía y senescencia biológica estos procesos se reducen considerablemente. La atmósfera externa y la cavidad toman valores de d13C muy similares indicando un alto grado de ventilación de la cavidad. En las últimas décadas, la mayoría de los trabajos relacionados con el cambio climático han estado enfocados a determinar los principales impactos del cambio climático y a evaluar la vulnerabilidad de la población humana ante amenazas, es decir, vulnerabilidad socioeconómica. En este trabajo se discute la importancia de evaluar la vulnerabilidad intrínseca de los ecosistemas, y de los bienes y servicios que éstos prestan, a partir de sus aspectos biofísicos, como base fundamental para evaluar la vulnerabilidad de las poblaciones humanas que dependen de esos bienes y servicios ecosistémicos.
