O presente artigo busca apresentar um debate sobre as articulações entre gênero, etnicidade e ecologia nos movimentos organizados de mulheres curdas, situados majoritariamente no território declarado autônomo conhecido como Kobane, na Região Norte da Síria. No texto, apresentarei uma breve trajetória dos movimentos de luta pela autonomia do Curdistão ao longo do século XX e as negociações das categorias de igualdade de gênero, que vem sendo mobilizada e promovida pelo movimento de mulheres curdas como pilar do movimento de fundação de uma nação curda. Como conclusão, apresentarei uma reflexão sobre como o lema Jîn, Jîan e Azadî (mulher, vida e liberdade, respectivamente), que orienta as perspectivas de restruturação da vida produtiva e reprodutiva das mulheres curdas, e como esse processo pode dialogar com os debates do campo da ecologia e dos feminismos pós-coloniais produzidos a partir de estudos e reflexões sobre diferentes comunidades indígenas e quilombolas na América Latina.

Objetivo: Caracterizar cinco plantas proteicas y abordar su efecto en la productividad y salud animal. Materiales y Métodos: Se consultó la literatura disponible relacionada con la agronomía, agroecología y aplicación en la producción y la salud animal de las especies Moringa oleifera Lam., Tithonia diversifolia Hemsl., A. Gray, Morus alba L., Trichanthera gigantea H. y B. y Cratylia argentea Desv., con el propósito de analizar los resultados obtenidos en los sistemas convencionales de agricultura y ganadería a nivel internacional y en Cuba. Resultados: Existe variabilidad en las condiciones de manejo, procesamiento y conservación del forraje de M. oleifera, T. diversifolia, M. alba, T. gigantea y C. argentea. Sus contenidos de proteína bruta oscilan entre 13 y 33 %. Se siembran en densidades entre 555 y 1 000 000 plantas/ha. El rendimiento varía entre 3 y 35 t MS/ha/año, y son abundantes durante el período poco lluvioso. Con estas especies se pueden obtener entre 5 y 7 kg leche/animal/día y la ganancia de peso animal puede superar los 500 g/animal/día.Conclusiones: Por su adaptación a las condiciones agrícolas de Cuba, disponibilidad de biomasa durante todo el año y valor nutritivo, M. oleifera, T. diversifolia, M. alba, T. gigantea y C. argentea constituyen recursos forrajeros de calidad, con potencialidades para suplementar a los animales y mejorar su salud; además, de proteger el suelo y disminuir la emisión de metano al medio.

Objetivo: Reflexionar acerca de la importancia de la sustentabilidad de los sistemas agroproductivos y de su contribución al desarrollo local en Cuba, desde un enfoque económico, ecológico y sociocultural.Materiales y Métodos: Este estudio, de tipo exploratorio, analítico y descriptivo, se basa en la revisión bibliográfica de los conceptos sistemas sostenibles y sustentables, bioeconomía, agroecología y los programas de desarrollo en contextos locales. Para ello se consultaron y analizaron diferentes fuentes de información, artículos científicos publicados en torno al tema y literatura producida por organismos nacionales e internacionales, con la intención de conocer acerca del estado de arte del objeto de estudio y concretar definiciones y estrategias necesarias para la implementación de sistemas sustentables en el marco de los programas agropecuarios.Resultados: Se corroboró que la sustentabilidad es una forma de vivir y producir en armonía con el medio ambiente, para garantizar que las generaciones futuras puedan satisfacer sus necesidades. Desde su multifuncionalidad, la sustentabilidad puede ser una herramienta en el desarrollo local sustentable, a partir de la apuesta por modelos agroalimentarios basados en la agroecología, la bioeconomía y la soberanía alimentaria.Conclusiones:En Cuba sería pertinente establecer estrategias locales para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas y conservar el medio ambiente, desde un enfoque agroecológico y sustentable.

Algunos tipos de vehículos aéreos no tripulados (VANTs) reciben el nombre de drones. Estos equipos de amplia versatilidad se han venido aplicando muy recientemente para diferentes labores, entre las cuales destaca la agricultura. De allí que, esta tecnología está dando respuesta a la disminución de biopolinizadores en distintos sembradíos del mundo. El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en analizar las implicaciones del uso de tales dispositivos en prácticas agrícolas ante la ausencia creciente de polinizadores entomófilos. El trabajo analiza las experiencias relacionadas con la aplicación de los VANTs en fecundación de cultivos. La bibliografía consultada coincide en señalar que los drones se constituyen en una estrategia viable para tal actividad, y es al mismo tiempo, una solución ante la diminución de polinizadores entomófilos en determinadas regiones de la Tierra. No obstante, la literatura de referencia muy poco reporta posibles efectos adversos, que desde el punto de vista ecológico pudiera derivarse de la utilización de los VANTs en la producción agroalimentaria. En conclusión, los hallazgos reportados en la literatura reciente auguran el desarrollo exitoso de la polinización con drones, pero es necesario avanzar en nuevas investigaciones para conocer las consecuencias ecológicas que pueden derivarse del uso de los equipos antes mencionados.

En el siglo XXI, la problemática del cambio climático se presenta como uno de los retos más desafiantes para la comunidad internacional. Por una parte, una de sus mayores causas es el gran incremento de la concentración de gases de efecto invernadero (GEIs) producto de emisiones generadas por los países más desarrollados y las potencias emergentes. Por otro lado, sus principales manifestaciones se han observado en consecuencias devastadoras en el ambiente durante el último tiempo. En India, el abordaje de esta temática fue evolucionando de acuerdo a las condiciones del contexto político interno, el cual en los años posteriores a la independencia estuvo caracterizado por el tratamiento de cuestiones estructurales en lo que hicieron a la conformación de Estado-nación, no permitiendo una gran profundización del debate respecto de las cuestiones ambientales. No obstante, la llegada al gobierno de Manmohan Singh en el año 2004, marcó el inicio de un punto de inflexión en el tratamiento, proceso que fue retomado posteriormente con la asunción de Narendra Modi en 2014, líder del Bharatiya Janata Party. En este sentido, el presente artículo se propone abordar la consolidación de la política de cambio climático de la República de India contrastando las propuestas realizadas en la materia por el país asiático tanto a nivel interno como externo desde 2004 a 2018.

El estudio de los biocombustibles sigue en constante desarrollo, desde hace cinco décadas. Este artículo resume el análisis de diversas publicaciones científicas recientes, relacionadas con biocombustibles de tercera generación utilizando microalgas. Se presenta una visión general de biocombustibles y su clasificación, las bases teóricas de microalgas, técnicas para su cultivo, cosecha y pretratamiento de su biomasa. También se describen brevemente tecnologías prometedoras para obtener biocombustibles de gran demanda potencial mundial, considerando las características técnicas del proceso, en función de las especies de microalgas que tienen los más altos rendimientos y productividades para cada tipo de biocombustible: Biodiesel (extracción de lípidos, transesterificación y purificación), etanol (hidrólisis de azúcares, fermentación y purificación) y biogás (digestión anaerobia). La mayoría de los estudios están enfocados en la producción de lípidos, siendo Chlorella vulgaris, Nanochloropsis sp. y Botryococcus braunii (A) las microalgas más utilizadas para obtener biodiesel. Sin embargo, existen pocos estudios centrados en la producción de biomasa microalgal para producir bioetanol, así, las microalgas Porphyridium cruentum y Spirogira sp. podrían utilizarse para producir bioetanol, con la ventaja de no contener lignina. El biogás se produce por biodigestión anaeróbica de los residuos de biomasa microalgal en biorrefinerías, pero su producción comercial está muy limitada por los altos costos productivos y porque existen otras biomasas muy competitivas económicamente. La necesidad de producir biocombustibles utilizando biomasa microalgal, está alcanzando un mayor auge, siendo la propuesta trascendental, poner en marcha una biorrefinería, principalmente enfocada en la producción optima de biomasa microalgal como la clave principal de todo el proceso.

El alga Cladophora crispata “Llaska” es una especie alimenticia importante para las poblaciones que viven en la zona circunlacustre del lago Titicaca. Sin embargo, su biomasa se ve afectada por la disminución del nivel de lago en la época seca. Por ello, los objetivos fueron determinar la biomasa fresca de la Llaska en época lluviosa y seca en tres comunidades del área circunlacustre del lago; y, evaluar el nivel de éxito del trasplante de colonias de la Llaska para el aumento de su biomasa disponible. Para la determinación de la biomasa se utilizó un cuadrante metálico de 0,25 cm de lado. Para el trasplante se utilizaron colonias de Llaska susceptibles de morir, las cuales fueron distribuidas en hileras, a una distancia no mayor a 10 m con respecto a la orilla del lago. En la época lluviosa se encontró una mayor biomasa, particularmente en marzo (785,28 ± 89,98 g/m2). La biomasa fue similar entre las tres zonas de estudio, aunque en la comunidad de Llachón fue donde se encontró una mayor biomasa. El trasplante de las colonias de Llaska fue exitoso, ya que tanto la altura como el diámetro de las colonias incrementaron durante el tiempo de evaluación. Particularmente, la altura fue quien tuvo una mayor respuesta al tiempo de evaluación. Entonces, con el trasplante de colonias susceptibles de morir se podría aumentar su biomasa disponible para fines alimenticios.
