                <text>Çalışmamızda, Türkiye’de para ve sermaye piyasaları açısından önemli göstergeler arasında yer alan BİST100 endeksi, Dolar, Euro ve altın fiyatlarına ait getiri ve volatilitelerin COVID-19 pandemisinden etkilenme düzeyleri ile söz konusu göstergeler arasındaki volatilite yayılımının araştırıldığı bir ampirik çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. 01.01.2015 – 08.07.2020 döneminde CCC-GARCH modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmada, BİST100 endeksi dışında kalan tüm yatırım araçlarının en az bir farklı yatırım aracının bir dönem gecikmeli getirisinden etkilendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Aynı zamanda, COVID-19 pandemisinin BİST100 endeksi ve altın getirilerini sınırlı düzeyde de olsa artırıcı etkisinin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, pandemi sürecinin yatırım araçlarının volatilitelerini artırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Dolar ile Euro arasında Dolar’dan Euro’ya doğru pozitif volatilite yayılımı bulunurken, en yüksek yayılımın Türkiye’nin ABD ile politik kriz yaşadığı 2018 yılında görüldüğü tespit edilmiştir. Söz konusu yatırım araçları arasındaki yayılım pandemi sürecinde sınırlı kalmıştır. BİST100 endeksi ile altın arasındaki volatilite yayılımına ilişkin katsayı ise negatif bulunmuş, yatırımcıların endekste volatilitelerin arttığı dönemde yatırım aracı olarak altına yöneldikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. İki yatırım aracı arasındaki en yüksek volatilite yayılımı döviz kurlarına benzer şekilde 2018 yılında görülürken, pandemi sürecinde en yüksek ikinci yayılım düzeyine ulaşıldığı belirlenmiştir.</text>

                <text>The unprecedented situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has generated radical transformations of the Romanian education system, forcing teachers as well as students to adapt in a short time to new social conditions and to the online learning process. The paper analyzes the sustainability of the e-learning system implemented in Romania during the pandemic, and it is based on an opinion poll based on a questionnaire developed on three levels of schooling (middle school, high school, and university), analyzed from three perspectives, teachers–students–parents, and identifying the possible psychological effects on students, resulting from the corroboration of social isolation with the online continuation of the educational process. Although before the pandemic the e-learning system was rarely used by both students and teachers, the research results indicate that students have accepted online learning, even if they find it less attractive than the traditional education system. From the teacher–student–parent perspective, e-learning is an effective sustainable learning solution in current and future conditions, but it requires good collaboration between parents and teachers, careful monitoring of children’s/students’ behavior to identify and combat possible effects determined by the changing way of learning and of social realities.</text>

                <text>In this elucidative essay, we offer a broad outline of the culture-centered approach to health discourse analysis as a warrant for the relevance of critical health communication amid the global COVID-19 pandemic. While there is a proliferation of methods and approaches to health discourse analysis, we outline one broad approach, based on the theoretical tenets and political commitments of CCA. In particular, we emphasize (a) the heuristic value of the CCA's primary and theoretical components—the matrix of culture, structure, and agency, and (b) the importance of exploring discursive erasure as two central principles that guide analysis within this framework. Given the range and scale of existing and likely future transformations in social, political, and cultural understandings of health in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, we offer, through this “how to” essay, a rationale for the continued relevance of critical health communication.</text>

                <text>We report the first cesarean delivery in a woman with COVID-19 in a level III hospital in Portugal. It refers to a healthy woman with a term pregnancy that tested positive for COVID-19 on the day of labor induction. Given a Bishop score &lt; 4 and the prior history of a cesarean section, the team decided to perform a surgical delivery. Appropriate personal protective equipment and safety circuits were employed, as described in more detail in the case report. Both the mother and the newborn are well. With this report we aimed to share our concerns, clinical management, maternal and neonatal outcomes, and to present our current circuits and adjustments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in our maternity hospital.</text>

                <text>Higher education is changing, and a new normal is coming. Students are even more demanding, and professors need to follow the evolution of technology and try to increase student engagement in the classrooms (presential or virtual). Higher education students recognise that the introduction of new tools and learning methods can improve the teaching quality and increase the motivation to learn. Regarding a question about which type of classes students preferred, ninety-one point ninety-nine per cent (91.99%) of the students wanted interactive classes over traditional. Having this concern in mind over the past years, a professor explored a set of methods, strategies and tools and designed a new and innovative paradigm using gamification. This approach is denominated TechTeach and explores a set of trending concepts and interactive tools to teach computer science subjects. It was designed to run in a B-learning environment. The paradigm uses flipped classrooms, bring your own device (BYOD), gamification, training of soft-skills and quizzes and surveys to increase the student’s engagement and provide the best learning environment to students. Currently, COVID-19 is bringing about new challenges, and TechTeach was improved in order to be more suitable for this new way of teaching (from 0% to 100% online classes). This article details this method and shows how it can be applied in a real environment. A case study was used to prove the functionality and relevance of this approach, and the achieved results are motivating. During the semester, more than a hundred students experienced this new way of teaching and assessment. In the end, more than eighty-one per cent (81%) of the students gave a positive grade to the approach, and more than ninety-five per cent (95.65%) of the students approved the use of the concept of BYOD in the classroom. With TechTeach, the classroom is not a boring place anymore; it is a place to learn and enjoy regardless of being physical or not.</text>

En particular, a partir de una reducción en la tasa de reproducción (R0) se examina su impacto sobre la dinámica de infectados y fallecidos.  Se recurre a la utilización de una extensión del modelo SIR estándar, el cual considera explícitamente a aquellas personas infectadas pero que aún no pueden transmitir la enfermedad (expuestos) y aquellos que han fallecido (fallecidos) y una tasa de reproducción decreciente en el tiempo. Este comportamiento de la tasa de reproducción reflejaría la implementación de medidas de distanciamiento a partir de diferentes especificaciones.  Los resultados sugieren que las medidas de distanciamiento contribuyen a reducir significativamente la cantidad máxima de infectados activos y fallecidos diarios. Esto es, logran aplanar las curvas de contagios y fallecimientos.   </text>

                <text>The COVID-19 outbreak is an international problem and has affected people and students all over the world. When lockdowns were imposed internationally, learning management systems began to be used more than in the previous period. These systems have been used also for traditional forms of learning and not only for online learning. This pandemic has highlighted the need for online learning systems in the educational environment, but it is very important for these systems to be secure and to verify the authenticity of the students when they access a course or evaluation questions. In this period, everything is moving towards the digital world, with students that are connected from a distance to online systems. All activities in the educational environment will soon be performed digitally on learning management systems, which includes also the evaluation process of the students. In this paper, we propose a secure learning management system that uses the student’s behavior to identify if they are an authentic student or not. This system can support the teacher’s activities in the learning process and verify the authenticity of the students logged on to the system. This paper is aimed at learning management system developers, who can use the proposed algorithms in their developed platforms, and also at teachers, who should understand the importance of the identification of students on these platforms.</text>

                <text>Objectives: To study in-depth the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of pneumonia resulting from COVID-19 and provide evidence for effective public health decisions.Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center research study. Participants were enrolled from patients presenting at the Chongqing Public Health Medical Treatment Center from Jan 24 to Feb 7, 2020, and were confirmed as having COVID-19.Results: A total of 114 COVID-19 patients (99 mild, 4 severe, 11 critical) of which 56 (56/114; 49.1%) were male, 58 (58/114; 50.9%) were female with a mean age of 46.05 years. Twenty nine (29/114; 25.44%) patients suffered from chronic diseases. Neutrophils counts in 23.68% (27/114) of patients were abnormally low and abnormally high in 21.05% (24/114). Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and the C-reactive protein levels were abnormally elevated in 76.5% (62/81) and 62.9% (66/105) of patients, respectively. Creatine kinase isoenzymes (CK-MB), pro-brain natriuretic peptide (pro-BNP) and troponin levels were above the normal range in 7.10% (8/112), 66.7% (10/15), and 100% of patients, respectively. The percentage of patients in which the partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2)/fraction of inspired O2(FiO2) ratio exceeded 200 was 60%. A total of 91 (91/114; 79.82%) patients displayed severe bilateral pneumonia, 52 (52/114; 45.61%) exhibited ground-glass opacity, and pulmonary consolidation was observed in 4 (3.51%) patients. Differences in shortness of breath, insomnia, inappetence, the procalcitonin (PCT) levels, FiO2 and PaO2/FiO2 among the three groups were statistically significant (p &amp;lt; 0.05). Differences between the mild and severe groups was observed in neutrophil and lymphocyte counts, CD4 expression, and levels of C-reactive protein, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and albumin (P &amp;lt; 0.05). Between the mild and critical groups, differences were observed in neutrophils, platelets, and CD4 expression (P &amp;lt; 0.05). A difference in C-reactive protein levels between severe and critical groups was also found (P &amp;lt; 0.05).Conclusions: In the majority of cases no gender differences were observed and mostly the symptoms were mild. Evidence of efficient human-to-human virus transmission was found. The elderly with comorbidities were more prone to develop into severe or critical illness. Age and comorbidity may be risk factors for poor outcome.</text>
