El presente artículo da fe del experimento auspiciado por la Universidad Cuito Cuanavale del Instituto Superior Politécnico de Cunene, se acometió en áreas agrícolas del Bairro Castilhos en Ondjiva, provincia de Cunene, Angola en el curso 2018-2019, el cual permitió evaluar diferentes sustratos orgánicos en el cultivo de Cucurbita maxima Duch variedad Marucha. Se utilizó un diseño experimental de bloques al azar con cuatro tratamientos y tres réplicas respectivamente, con diferentes sustratos orgánicos: Tratamiento uno (control o testigo) (T1), 100% del suelo (sin fertilizantes orgánicos); tratamiento dos (T2), 50% de tierra y 50% de estiércol bovino (EB); tratamiento tres (T3), 50% de tierra y 50% de estiércol caprino (CE); tratamiento cuatro (T4), 50% de tierra, 25% de estiércol bovino (EB) y 25% de estiércol de cabra (CE). El tratamiento tres con la utilización del estiércol caprino demostró mayor desarrollo, crecimiento y rendimiento del cultivo que conllevó el cuidado del medioambiente y de la salud humana. El artículo pretende brindar un panorama general sobre la realidad global y las principales dinámicas relacionadas con el tema del cambio climático, desde un proceso de reflexión humanística, crítica y holística sobre los retos y desafíos actuales que plantea este tema, con el fin de desarrollar una mejor comprensión y un mayor compromiso en la búsqueda de soluciones globales y locales. Además de los aspectos técnicos, la gestión del cambio climático requiere de una perspectiva humanística, capaz de integrar la dimensión ética, social, educativa y cultural, que permita comprender el papel que desempeña el ser humano, su vulnerabilidad, la distribución geográfica del fenómeno, los impactos esperados, los escenarios presentes y futuros (costos y beneficios) y el planteamiento de soluciones posibles, desde las decisiones cotidianas de la ciudadanía, hasta las políticas públicas impulsadas por las instituciones locales, los estados y las organizaciones internacionales. Costa Rica se ha preocupado y tiene una gran voluntad por mitigar el cambio climático. Sin embargo, el problema es que nuestro país es muy vulnerable a las consecuencias y, en el corto y mediano plazos, se requiere plantear medidas concretas de adaptación que tomen en cuenta sus necesidades reales y que vinculen directamente a la población con participación activa.

El trabajo aborda el tema de la acción colectiva internacional desde el ascenso de las organizaciones del llamado tercer sector, hasta el (re)surgimiento de movimientos campesinos contrahegemónicos, que internacionalizan y ambientalizan su lucha a partir de la agroecología y los debates de la soberanía alimentaria y justicia ambiental. Estos debates serán ejemplificados a partir de tres organizaciones campesinas de Brasil, México y Argentina. Las mismas expresan los procesos de territorialización campesina y sus dinámicas en los tres países, además de un complejo acercamiento a las temáticas ambientales que propone un quiebre normativo en relación a la actuación de Organizaciones No Gubernamentales (ONGs), fundaciones y organizaciones ambientalistas tradicionales. Si bien las organizaciones que buscaremos caracterizar en clave comparativa sean organizaciones novedosas en relación al movimiento campesino clásico, por adentrarse en problemáticas contemporáneas como la cuestión ambiental, democracia interna y la soberanía alimentaria; resignificando y ambientalizando a la cuestión agraria contemporánea; las mismas cuestionan al capitalismo y rescatan críticamente las experiencias de los movimientos sociales y sindical que las precedieron. Luego, las organizaciones campesinas estudiadas afirman en su existencia y base social algunas características que la Escuela de los Nuevos Movimientos Sociales tiende a negar frente su interpretación analítica de la acción colectiva internacional en la globalización y los sujetos sociales (tercer sector) que la misma privilegia en sus análisis. Abstract This research approaches the issue of the international collective action, from the rise of the third sector organizations to the resurgence of counter-hegemonic peasant movements that internationalize and “environmentalize” their struggle from the discussions of agroecology, food sovereignty and environmental justice. These discussions will be exemplified by three peasant organizations in Brazil, México and Argentina. The organizations above mentioned express the processes of peasant territorialization and their dynamics in the three countries, in addition to a complex approach to the environmental issues that proposes a normative break related to the actions of the traditional environmental NGO´s, foundations and organizations. The organizations that we characterize in comparative terms are innovatory in relation to the classic peasant movement, because they move further into contemporary issues such as environmental questions, internal democracy and food sovereignty; resignifying and “environmentalizing” the contemporary agrarian question. Also, these organizations confront capitalism and rescue, from a critical perspective, the experiences of the social and trade union movements that preceded them. Then, the peasant organizations studied in this work affirm in their existence and social base some characteristics that the School of New Social Movements tends to deny in its analytical interpretation of the international collective action in globalization and social subjects (third sector) that this School privileges in their analyzes.

Las modificaciones del paisaje causadas por las actividades y migraciones humanas contribuyen en hacer emerger o re-emerger enfermedades tropicales, particularmente aquellas cuya transmisión se realiza por insectos vectores que a menudo deben escapar a las condiciones cambiantes ambientales, adaptándose y modificando sus redes tróficas, su morfología, hasta su genotipo. Obtener una mejor comprensión de las relaciones entre los factores ecológicos y humanos y las antropozoonosis es vital para poder identificar variables que permitan cartografiar el riesgo para las poblaciones humanas. Este es el objetivo del programa de investigación Ecología del Paisaje, Dinámica de los Agro-Ecosistemas y Complejos Eco-Patógenos: La Definición del Riesgo Eco-Epidemiológico en la Tripanosomiasis Americana que se desarrolla en diferentes ecosistemas del Brasil. Los autores describen las bases conceptuales y metodológicas del programa e insisten sobre el rol del método eco-epidemiológico para el estudio de la estructura y el funcionamiento de los focos naturales y antropizados de la infección. Modelizar su dinámica espacial y temporal permite concebir nuevos útiles de predicción y de vigilancia.Modifications of the landscape by human activity and migratory movements contribute to the emergence or reemergence of zoonotic and human diseases, particularly those transmitted by insects which often escape the changing environmental conditions, adapting and modifying their trophic networks and morphology, including their genotype. A better understanding of relationships between ecological factors, human factors, and anthropozoonoses is vital to be able to identify variables that allow one to map the risk for human populations. This is the main objective of the research program Landscape Ecology, Land-Use Dynamics, and Eco-Pathogenic Complexes: Eco-Epidemiologic Risk in the Case of American Trypanosomiasis, developed in various Brazilian ecosystems. The authors describe the program's conceptual and methodological basis and highlight the role of eco-epidemiology for studying the structure and function of natural and anthropogenic foci of infection. Modeling spatial and temporal dynamics can help predict and monitor such tropical diseases.

Introducción. Diversos estudios a nivel taxonómico y molecular sugieren que Lutzomyia longipalpis, principal vector de la leishmaniasis visceral en Latinoamérica, es un complejo de especies con ampliadistribución a lo largo del continente y con adaptaciones a diferentes hábitats. Objetivo. Realizar vigilancia entomológica en el área de influencia de la hidroeléctrica Miel I. Materiales y métodos. Se utilizaron trampas adhesivas en una intersección de 400 km, aproximadamente, para la captura de insectos, los cuales fueron identificados con la clave taxonómica de Youngy Duncan. Resultados. En este estudio se reporta la presencia de Lu. longipalpis en los municipios de Norcasia a una altitud de 392 msnm y en Marquetalia a 1.387 msnm; es el primer reporte a esta altura para esta especie en Colombia. Conclusiones. Se sugiere que la ampliación de la distribución geográfica y altitudinal de Lu. longipalpis en el país podría estar relacionada con la existencia del complejo de especies Lu. longipalpis, o a factores ambientales como el aumento de temperatura debido al cambio climático global que viene sucediendo en las últimas décadas. Los procesos agrícolas actuales precisan de un desarrollo en armonía con el ambiente, para ello se requiere comprender todos los fenómenos que tienen lugar en los agroecosistemas incluidas las interacciones entre sus componentes. El objetivo del trabajo fue fundamentar teóricamente la relación existente entre agricultura suburbana, biodiversidad, servicios ecosistémicos y control natural de plagas. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica donde se comprobó que la agricultura suburbana es una forma de agricultura que se basa en el logro de un menor impacto al medioambiente y en promover valores adecuados de biodiversidad. Esto es importante pues la biodiversidad es la base de la agricultura y la fuente para que los seres humanos satisfagan sus necesidades gracias a los bienes y servicios ecosistémicos que proporciona. Los servicios ecosistémicos a su vez se convierten en herramientas para que los productores puedan manejar sus fincas de manera sostenible utilizando los recursos endógenos en ellas disponibles. El control natural de plagas es uno de los procesos que en las fincas se ve favorecido, pues existen muchos grupos de organismos, principalmente plantas, que pueden proveer recursos para combatir organismos nocivos. Existe una relación de interdependencia entre agricultura suburbana, biodiversidad, servicios ecosistémicos y control natural de plagas. Current agricultural processes require development in harmony with the environment, for this it is necessary to understand all the phenomena that take place in agroecosystems, including the interactions between their components. The objective of the work was to theoretically establish the existing relationship between suburban agriculture, biodiversity, ecosystem services and natural pest control. A bibliographic review was carried out where it was found that suburban agriculture is a form of agriculture that is based on achieving a lower impact on the environment and promoting adequate values of biodiversity. This is important because biodiversity is the basis of agriculture and the source for human beings to satisfy their needs thanks to the ecosystem goods and services it provides. Ecosystem services in turn become tools for producers to manage their farms in a sustainable way using the endogenous resources available to them. Natural pest control is one of the processes that is favored on farms, since there are many groups of organisms, mainly plants, that can provide resources to combat harmful organisms. There is an interdependent relationship between suburban agriculture, biodiversity, ecosystem services, and natural pest control. La pandemia de COVID-19, que ha desestructurado al mundo tal como lo conocíamos hasta ahora, nos invita a reflexionar nuevamente sobre la Contabilidad, su rol y sus posibles contribuciones para enfrentar algunos de los desafíos que trae la construcción de una infraestructura social y económica diferente. Lo hacemos, en este artículo, desde una conceptualización amplia de nuestra disciplina que, dentro del marco de la sustentabilidad, se orienta a facilitar el funcionamiento fluido de las relaciones de accountability en una sociedad democrática para empoderar a los ciudadanos de manera que puedan tomar decisiones informadas. Sintetizarmos algunos llamados de atención que la contabilidad social venía observando y trabajando para superar las graves falencias del capitalismo salvaje; comentamos cuestiones relacionadas con la mirada centrada en los valores y los destinatarios de la información como base de los sistemas contables; señalamos puntos de contacto entre los riesgos derivados del cambio climático y el COVID-19 y analizamos cómo la crisis que estamos experimentando ha puesto de manifiesto la importancia de contar con información contable de calidad no solo de carácter financiero y económico sino también, y fundamentalmente, de tipo social, ambiental y de gobierno de distintas organizaciones y de las sociedad como un todo.

La bibliografía sobre el género Blechnum L. es muy abundante tanto en lo que respecta a las especies neotropicales como paleotropicales. Sin embargo, aún faltan estudios anatómicos completos, una caracterización actualizada de su morfología externa e interna, taxonomía, citología y afinidades. En este estudio se revisaron ocho especies de Blechnum de hábito arborescente: B. brasiliense, B. columbiense, B. cycadifolium, B. magellanicum, B. moritzianum, B. schomburgkii, B. tabulare y B. werckleanum. Se analizaron caracteres de rizomas, estípites y costas, división de la lámina, y venación, estructura de márgenes, modelos epidérmicos, presencia y tipos de hipodermis y mesofilo de las pinnas. Se estudió por primera vez la hipodermis, un área dermatoide adaxial presente en el mesofilo de todas las especies. Se correlacionaron caracteres externos e internos con el fin de utilizar los externos más confiables en claves y descripciones. Los estudios realizados confirmaron nuevamente la presencia de B. tabulare en América, que incluyen en su sinonimia a B. spannagelii de América tropical y B. madagascariense de África. También se concluyó que el nombre B. schomburgkii es un sinónimo de B. auratum subsp. auratum, en tanto que B. auratum subsp. columbiense se trata aquí con rango de especie. Se caracterizó a B. moritzianum, el nombre que corresponde aplicar a la recientemente descrita B. yungense. Se presentó una descripción actualizada de las especies, se resolvieron varios problemas nomenclaturales pendientes; se presentaron datos amplios sobre la ecología, distribución geográfica y afinidades entre las especies, así como una clave para determinarlas.Although the genus Blechnum has been largely studied, problems of species characterization, nomenclature, classification and taxonomy remain unsolved. For these reasons, in this study we intend to deepen in the characterization of the arborescent group of Blechnum with a review of eight species: B. brasiliense, B. columbiense, B. cycadifolium, B. magellanicum, B. moritzianum, B. schomburgkii, B. tabulare and B. werckleanum.Type material and several collections from diverse herbaria were studied. For morphological studies we used both herbarium and fresh material collected by the authors in fieldwork between 2005 and 2010. Rhizomes, stipes, vascularization of costae, as well as several characters of the lamina, such as outline, division, venation, margin structure, epidermal patterns, stomata, presence and types of hypodermis, and mesophyll of pinnae were studied. Important aspects of the morphology of the sporophyte have been analyzed, and external characters have been correlated with internal diagnostic ones to use the most reliable external traits in keys and descriptions. Taxonomy has been updated, and corrections have been introduced to the species nomenclature and comments were included to summarize the current knowledge of the geographical distribution and ecology. The presence of B. tabulare in America is confirmed, and the taxonomy of the species is updated, since external and internal morphology indicated that other related, American and African species, such as B. spannagelii and B. madagascariense must be included under that name. Similar studies carried out on B. schomburgkii indicated that the name is a synonym of B. auratum subsp. auratum, while B. auratum subsp. columbiense is treated here as a well characterized species. Detailed study of numerous specimens allowed to characterize B. moritzianum, being the correct name to apply to the recently described B. yungense. A refreshed description of the species is presented together with a list of new, selected materials to illustrate current known geographical distribution. Expanded data on ecology, geographical distribution and affinities are given, and a key for species identification is presented.

Podría decirse, sin temor a pecar de exagerados, que en Colombia todo está por hacer en cuestiones de economía agrícola. Esto, como es natural, nos plantea un problema económico básico: Decidir qué estudios deben iniciarse primero, a fin de obtener una mejor utilización de nuestros limitados recursos. En nuestra opinión los estudios que tienen más importancia son aquellos de tipo básico que nos pueden dar la información necesaria para continuar de una manera progresiva las investigaciones en ciencias sociales. Dadas las condiciones del país, creemos que los tres tipos de estudios básicos más urgentes son los de: Geografía Económica, Sociología Rural y Estadística Agrícola. Geografía económica: En realidad se desconoce al país; sólo tenemos una idea aproximada de lo que son las distintas regiones naturales, pero no sabemos nada acerca de sus interrelaciones económicas. La prueba más diciente de que en Colombia los estudios de geografía económica están atrasados, es que en el país no existe todavía una Facultad de Geografía dependiente de ninguna Universidad. Y los pocos estudios iniciados, al igual que los reconocimientos de suelos, han marchado con un paso extremadamente lento, y muchos de ellos se han basado en datos fundamentalmente errados. Es por esto por lo que se necesitan estudios básicos de geografía económica en el país a fin de acabar con una serie de conceptos falsos y poder así iniciar estudios verdaderamente científicos. Sociología Rural: No solo deben hacerse estudios de geografía económica sino también estudios de sociología rural. Es decir, debe estudiarse la ecología social o geografía humana, que según la define Taylor es: El estudio de las maneras como los pueblos se distribuyen por sí mismos sobre la tierra al desarrollar y utilizar los recursos naturales en respuesta a las fuerzas culturales y sociales. Va más allá que la geografía o económica y es más importante que ambas. Estadística Agrícola: La importancia que tienen las estadísticas agrícolas para el país es decisiva para el planeamiento de los programas de todo orden. En la actualidad la gran mayoría de las estadísticas oficiales se basan en datos completamente erróneos, debido a que las cifras dadas no se han recogido de fuentes primarias sino que provienen de apreciaciones de personas más o menos informadas. Quienes no pueden dar información exacta. Los datos equivocados son peligrosos ya que los errores en que se incurra pueden convenir a determinados sectores económicos. En la actualidad funciona la sección de Economía Agrícola, que es una dependencia del departamento de Coordinación de Programas del Ministerio de Agricultura. Esta en realidad es la misma División de Economía Rural, que cambió de nombre al reorganizarse el Ministerio de Agricultura, y que desde hace algún tiempo ha venido recogiendo las estadísticas agrícolas de que se dispone hoy en el país. Sin embargo su personal, en comparación con las necesidades estadísticas del país es completamente inadecuado, unos cuatro o cinco técnicos tienen el encargo de levantar todas las estadísticas agrícolas de un país tan grande como Colombia.
