En España este hecho adquirió una importancia significativa, dado que dicho Informe se aprobó en Valencia en noviembre de 2007, suscitando una cobertura más amplia del evento, hecho que permite observar cómo el impacto local gana posiciones al global en la prensa escrita. Posteriormente, con la Cumbre de Copenhague, la cobertura del cambio climático alcanzó su máximo, observándose una tendencia decreciente a partir de este momento. El papel de la prensa se convierte en un elemento esencial para generar conciencia pública sobre el Cambio Global, aunque en determinadas ocasiones, el abuso de algunas fuentes de información y una excesiva politización del discurso sobre «Cambio Climático» pueden ocasionar un efecto contrario en el público, propiciando el desinterés sobre la temática cuando no se presentan soluciones de adaptación y mitigación al Cambio Global. Three wheat varieties and two maize hybrids were planted at in a 2-yr field experiment. CropSyst model was calibrated and validated for the collected field data, then was used to assess the impact of two climate change scenarios (A2 and B2) and three adaptation strategies (early sowing changing, irrigation schedule and the interaction between them) in the year of 2038s. The results revealed that A2 reduced yield more than B2 scenario for both crops. High yield reduction in wheat-maize rotation could be expected under climate change conditions, where wheat and maize yield will be reduced by an average of 41 and 56%, respectively. The most effective adaptation strategy for wheat was sowing 3 wk earlier and irrigation every 21 d, with irrigation water saving and no yield improvement under A2 scenario in both growing seasons. Whereas under B2 scenario yield improvement by 2% occurred with 3% saving in the applied irrigation water in the 1st growing season and in the 2nd growing season yield could improved by 8% with less than 1% increase in the applied irrigation water and higher water productivity. Changing irrigation schedule was an effective adaptation option for maize, where yield improvement could occur under both climate change scenarios in both growing seasons by up to 9% with less than 3% increase in the applied irrigation water and higher water productivity. Por esta razón, se cuantificó la emisión del N2O por la aplicación de nitrógeno ureico (0, 100, 225 y 350 kg ha-1 a-1) al cultivo de café en dos zonas cafetaleras de Costa Rica (Valle Occidental y Los Santos). La cuantificación de la emisión se realizó durante todo un año agrícola. Los resultados mostraron efecto de la lluvia en la emisión del N2O; independientemente de la dosis, la mayor se presentó en los primeros días posteriores a la aplicación del fertilizante. En el Valle Occidental, la mayor emisión de N2O se detectó con 350 kg de N ha-1 a-1, niveles intermedios con 100 y 225 kg de N ha-1 a-1. La menor se presentó sin fertilización. Estos resultados ajustaron el modelo polinomial (Y=8E-08x3-4E-05x2+0.0064x+0.6266, r2=0.87). Para Los Santos, la emisión fue menor sin fertilizante; los mayores niveles se presentaron con 350 kg de N ha-1 a-1. La emisión con 100 y 225 kg de N ha-1 a-1 fue similar, aunque diferentes de los restantes tratamientos; estos resultados ajustaron un modelo polinomial (Y=-3E-06x2+0.0023x+0.6347, r2=0.87). Con los datos de ambas localidades se ajustó un modelo polinómico Y=6E-08x3–3E-05x2+0.0052x+0.6247 (r2=0.83). El uso de esta información se recomienda para estimar el N2O generado por la aplicación de urea como fuente de nitrógeno a plantaciones de café. Ortíz-Ceballos Description An account of the resource Pontoscolex corethrurus (Müller, 1857) is an invasive tropical earthworm, globally distributed. It reproduces through parthenogenesis, which theoretically results in low genetic diversity. The analysis of the population structure of P. corethrurus using molecular markers may significantly contribute to understanding the ecology and reproductive system of this earthworm species. This work assessed the genetic diversity and population structure of P. corethrurus with 34 polymorphic inter simple sequence repeat markers, covering four populations in tropical and temperate pastures from Veracruz State. Nuclear markers distinguished two genetic clusters, probably corresponding to two distinct genetic lineages. The number of clones detected in the AC population was lower than expected for a parthenogenetic species. Also, the apparent lack of differences in population structures related to the geographic region among the populations studied may indicate that human-mediated transference is prevalent in these areas. Still, most individuals apparently belong to lineage A, and only a few individuals seem to belong to the lineage B. Thus, the admixture signatures found among the four populations of P. corethrurus may have facilitated a successful invasion by directly increasing fitness. In summary, addressing the genetic variation of P. corethrurus with ISSR markers was a suitable approach, as it evidenced the genetic diversity and relationships in the populations evaluated. La estimación de datos faltantes de las variables se realizó con un modelo de regresión lineal. Entre los resultados se tiene que, entre 1986 y 2016 es evidente un incremento de la temperatura mínima anual en la zona de estudio, mostrando valores entre 3.435 y 5.227 °C; se estima al 2016 un valor de 4.757 °C; asimismo, la superficie de masa glaciar de la Cordillera Huaytapallana muestra en este mismo periodo una tendencia de retroceso, estimado al 2016 en 11.86 km2. En conclusión, el incremento de la temperatura mínima del periodo 1986-2016 incide en el retroceso de la superficie de masa glaciar de la Cordillera Huaytapallana; de igual forma, existe una relación inversa, moderada y significativa entre el incremento de la temperatura mínima y el retroceso de la masa glaciar de la cordillera objeto de estudio. A partir de un ejercicio de revisión bibliográfica que incluyó alrededor de 60 referencias de los últimos 10 años, se empieza a consolidar un marco de referencia al respecto, y se efectúa una primera aproximación a la evaluación de los efectos del cambio climático sobre tres sistemas hidrogeológicos en Colombia. Considerando los escenarios de cambio climático propuestos por el IDEAM, se practica un análisis conceptual de las posibles implicaciones sobre la recarga para los acuíferos del Valle de Aburrá, Urabá antioqueño y Cuenca del rio Ranchería, que conllevaría a una disminución de la descarga de aguas subterráneas y un impacto directo en ecosistemas dependientes.
