Este estudio analiza el desempeño ambiental de los productos de camarón utilizando el enfoque del Análisis del Ciclo de Vida (ACV). Para evaluar los impactos ambientales se consideran el método de evaluación ambiental Ecoindicator 99 y ocho impactos ambientales potenciales individuales: contribución al cambio climático (huella de carbono), demanda de energía acumulada, acidificación, eutrofización, toxicidad (humana, terrestre y acuática) y deterioro de ozono. El ACV incluye todas las etapas desde la cuna hasta el puerto de destino. Los resultados señalan que el cultivo en piscinas representa entre 83% y 88% del impacto total (asociado al uso de combustibles fósiles y al consumo de alimento balanceado), seguido de las etapas de transporte, procesamiento y larvicultura. Reducir el consumo de diesel y mejorar la tasa de conversión alimentaria se presentan como alternativas importantes para disminuir el impacto ambiental de los productos de camarón originados en Colombia. A tal fin se desarrollaron mediciones de variables meteorológicas (temperatura de aire, temperatura y contenido de agua del sustrato, temperatura superficial de la losa) en box experimentales, mediante microadquisidores de datos del tipo Onset-HOBO, en la estación verano 2015. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que las cubiertas vegetadas permiten disminuir la temperatura media interior 2ºC, la amplitud térmica 8ºC y la temperatura máxima 6ºC y, diferencias poco significativas entre las especies evaluadas (0.5°C). Soil temperature and humidity are known to affect seed germination, however, the extent of their influence on germination and radicle growth of those of O. crenata is largely unknown. In this work, we studied the effects of temperature, water potential (Ψt) and the type of water stress (matric or osmotic) on O. crenata seeds during conditioning and incubation periods. We found that seeds germinated between 5 and 30ºC during both periods, with a maximum around 20ºC. Germination increased with increasing Ψt from -1.2 to 0 MPa during conditioning and incubation periods. Likewise, seed germination increased logarithmically with length of conditioning period until 40 days. The impact of the type of water stress on seed germination was similar, although the radicle growth of seeds under osmotic stress was lower than under matric stress, what could explain the lowest infestation of Orobanche spp. in regions characterized by saline soil. The data in this study will be useful to forecast infection of host roots by O. crenata. Esta especie presenta requerimiento específico de hábitat, como aguas libres de contaminación, vegetación ribereña abundante y baja presencia de humanos, lo que lo hace altamente vulnerables a los impactos antrópicos. Esto hace que las comunidades ribereñas cumplan un papel importante en la conservación de la especie y de los ecosistemas ribereños. Por ello, se diseñó e implementó una estrategia de educación ambiental para promover la conservación del pato de torrente M. armata colombiana en dos sedes rurales de la Institución Educativa Boquía, en el municipio de Salento (Quindío). Se trabajó con niños y niñas hijos de campesinos de las veredas Cócora y Palo Grande, donde se realizó un diagnóstico previo sobre los conocimientos básicos de los niños acerca de la especie, encontrándose que en general los niños desconocían el pato de torrente y solo estaban familiarizados con el estereotipo de los patos asociados a lagos. A partir de dicho diagnostico se diseñó una cartilla base de trabajo sobre diversos aspectos de la ecología, biología y conservación del pato de torrente, la cual acompañó la realización de cuatro jornadas de trabajo en cada centro educativo. Asociado a esto, se implementaron como refuerzos educativos carteleras, infografías y pato desafíos (juegos). Al evaluar la estrategia, se concluyó que los niños reconocieron la especie, su ecología y sus amenazas. Solo se presentó dificultad en la compresión de la dieta de la especie. Se determinó la materia seca, la fibra detergente neutro y la fibra detergente ácido, la proteína bruta, la digestibilidad in vitro, el pH, el nitrógeno amoniacal y la concentración de ácido láctico, acético y butírico.Resultados: No hubo efecto de la época de incorporación en la calidad del ensilaje. Se halló mayor contenido de materia seca (31,9 y 30,7 %), proteína bruta (8,9 y 8,0 %) y DIMVS (86,0 y 58,9 %) en el silo inoculado con relación al no inoculado. En los parámetros de la fermentación, se encontró menor valor de pH (3,6 y 4,0), NH3 (38 y 4,4 %), ácido acético (1,9 y 2,4 %), butírico (0,3 y 0,4 %) y aumento del ácido láctico (7,7 y 6,25) en el ensilaje inoculado con respecto al no inoculado.Conclusiones: Con independencia de la época de incorporación y de la leguminosa usada como abono verde, la inoculación de los ensilajes mejoró la calidad nutricional y sus parámetros de fermentación.
