This study investigates online shopping motives of generation Y and Z during the COVID-19 shutdown in April 2020. We use survey data from 451 German consumers to examine the relations between normative, utilitarian and hedonic motives, and purchase intentions employing structural equation modeling. The results show that normative determinants such as media reports on the economic situation are related to consumers’ purchase intentions, whereas the normative influence of close social networks is not. Furthermore, we find that hedonic motivation is a better predictor of purchase intentions than utilitarian motives and that individuals practicing social distancing, generation Z, and women show higher levels of hedonic motivation. We provide recommendations for e-commerce companies on ways to address consumers’ purchase motives and strategically harness normative influences. El objetivo de este trabajo es desarrollar los pilares básicos en los que se sustenta el modelo alternativo de economía circular. Los resultados evidencian que el uso de fibras textiles sostenibles, la utilización de fuentes de energía renovables, el alargamiento del período de utilización de las prendas y una adecuada gestión de los residuos generados constituyen los cuatro pilares de este nuevo modelo. Entre las conclusiones se subraya el gran impulso que para la implantación del mismo puede suponer la actual preocupación de las autoridades públicas por el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda 2030 de Naciones Unidas. Asimismo, para que este modelo prospere es imprescindible un programa educativo integrado para consumidores e industria. The new critical analysis of the manuscript shows that notes copied by Lubbe’s descendant – a Dominican Martin Gruneweg – came originally from the trade book kept by Jacob. This fact put Jacob Lubbe’s notes in a new light. They constitute a kind of self-testimony which represent a stream of conscience on the world. The notes which were analysed concerned mainly the family and religiousness of Jakob. Lubbe’s notes allow us also to learn about his subjective perception of the social roles played by him – roles of a stepfather, husband, senior guild member, a member of a parish and the city community. Although recognition of the antimicrobial effects of ILs is growing rapidly, there is almost nothing known about their possible virucidal activities. This probably reflects the paucity of understanding virus inactivation. In this study, we performed a systematic analysis to determine the effect of specific structural motifs of ILs on three different biological test systems (viruses, bacteria and enzymes). Overall, the effects of 27 different ILs on two non-enveloped and one enveloped virus (P100, MS2 and Phi6), two Gram negative and one Gram positive bacteria (E. coli, P. syringae and L. monocytogenes) and one enzyme (Taq DNA polymerase) were investigated. Results show that while some ILs were virucidal, no clear structure activity relationships (SARs) could be identified for the non-enveloped viruses P100 and MS2. However, for the first time, a correlation has been demonstrated between the effects of ILs on enveloped viruses, bacteria and enzyme inhibition. These identified SARs serve as a sound starting point for further studies.
