                <text>The article examines the problem of organizing distance learning in the conditions of uncertainty and the forced transition of teachers and students to online interaction. The situation that has arisen is viewed as a natural experiment the education system finds itself in requiring an understanding of its results at a certain stage. A theoretical analysis of the most popular distance learning organization technology implemented in Russian universities under current conditions (the coronavirus pandemic) is conducted and a critical evaluation of the obtained initial results of the readiness of higher education system to transition into the new digital education reality is provided. The discovered problems of distance learning include: the insufficient level of teachers’ digital tolerance and the lack of necessary competencies in them; the psycho-emotional instability of the online interaction participants; low learning motivation and the level of students’ practical skills; the lack of a universal digital platform for the organization of activity of all participants of the learning process. The perspectives for solving the aforementioned problems and priority directions in the improvement of this form of education are established, specifically: the technological direction (the formation of teachers’ ability to create online courses and effectively combine the functions of different digital platforms); the methodical direction (the formation of a set of professional and personal qualities necessary to effectively address professional tasks and expansion of the set of methods and means of organizing students’ activity considering the conditions of online interaction); the psychological dimension (teachers’ awareness of the need for self-improvement in the sphere of digital technologies and the formation of interest in learning and satisfaction with the process and results of distance learning in students). The identified areas are considered as risks the consideration of which in educational activities will make the distance learning process flexible and manageable.</text>

                <text>The Covid-19 pandemic has limited freedom of movement. E-commerce sites are growing rapidly and are becoming the main choice today when the virus becomes more prevalent. Trust is the key in creating online shopping satisfaction on e-commerce sites. This research was conducted to determine the effect of E-Service Quality and E-Security on Trust towards E-Satisfaction in the largest e-commerce site in Indonesia called Tokopedia. The research method used is quantitative. The population in this research is Tokopedia customers who are members of the Facebook group with a sample size of 400 people. The results of the study show that there was a relationship between the E-Service Quality and Trust, there was no relationship between the E-Service Quality and E-Satisfaction, there was a relationship between the E-Security variable and Trust, there was a relationship between the E-Security variable and E-Satisfaction. There was also a joint influence of E-Service Quality and E-Security variables on Trust, there was a relationship between the Trust variable and E-Satisfaction. This research is a development from the previous research where there was an effect of E-Service Quality and E-Security on E-Satisfaction. By adding the Trust variable as a moderate variable and E-Satisfaction as the dependent variable, the researchers found that the impact of Trust on E-Satisfaction was greater than the direct effect between E-Service Quality and E-Security on E-Satisfaction. Based on these results, it can be seen that the level of trust can increase E-Satisfaction.</text>

Vivemos uma infodemia sobre a pandemia, em um contexto que abre margens para a manipulação casuística da população, colocando a saúde pública em risco e no centro da agenda de debate. O presente artigo intenta trazer mais provocações do que respostas ao atual ambiente de desinformação, haja vista a contemporaneidade dos acontecimentos, à luz de uma leitura dinâmica provocada pelo encontro da crise política com a crise de emergência sanitária oriunda do novo coronavírus. Nesse sentindo, objetiva-se fazer um levantamento das principais notícias falsas disseminadas nas redes sociais durante os estágios de avanço da doença no Brasil.                 <text>This study investigates the potential value of, and provides a method for, the creation of flexible, digital, and asynchronous platforms to create student-centred materials for use in an online and/or blended learning environment. We made use of Thinglink to create a “virtual microscope” resource for geology and associated courses in higher education.  This is achieved through the dissemination of a simple learning resource comprising interactive imagery and audio.     The visual analysis of rocks under the microscope, termed thin-section petrography, is a fundamental component in geology programmes in higher education, with key skills which are transferable with other fields such as material science, biology, and forensic science. However, learning environments and activities in this field are often dictated by the requirement for access to microscope facilities and supplementary resources which are highly variable in their academic level, availability, design, and scale, ranging from traditional textbooks to online resources.     A resource was created which allows individuals to experience some of the aspects of petrographic microscopy in a digital manner. In particular, specific features of the materials observed and how microscopes work were included. The resource was disseminated to a population of learners and educators, who provided responses to a questionnaire. Responses were overwhelmingly positive and indicate considerable interest from learner and teacher alike. Critical areas for improvement include the need for clarity in the user interface and the inclusion of a recorded human voice rather than automated text narration. This study highlights the need for, and benefits of, interactive online learning resources in petrology and associated fields. This type of resource has positive implications for the flexibility, inclusivity, and accessibility of teaching materials. Such resources may prove particularly valuable when distance learning is unavoidable (e.g. the COVID-19 crisis) and/or hybrid, blended learning environments are being deployed. The method and platform used in this study are highly transferable to other subject areas (or other areas of the geosciences).</text>

                <text>We are presenting this document to medical providers as a systematic approach to improve outcomes of patients with COVID-19. The following variables are considered: Autonomic nervous system viewed from the perspective of the Polyvagal Theory; Timing of interventions in terms of phase of the body’s defense (Fight, Flight, Freeze, Faint); The nervous system considered the context of a “One System” perspective; Protein/Enzyme function; Immune system; Cytokine load - activity, inflammation and metabolic response; Viral load; Angiotensin 2 load.  The ARDS and multi-system organ failure of the COVID-19 is a complex problem. This approach acknowledges the complexity and presents a structure where the variables are systematically addressed.  1. The common risk factors for death are associated with baseline elevations of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Measures can be taken to lower them before being exposed to the virus–Plan A.  2. Strategies to optimize the body’s defenses should be assessed and optimized. These include nutrition, vitamins, and trace elements, sleep, exercise, and minimizing threat.  3. The body’s own resources are utilized through recruiting the autonomic nervous system to counteract elevated pro-inflammatory cytokines. The interventions are implemented in the context of what stage of defense the body is in–fight, flight, freeze, or faint.  4. Progressive pharmacological interventions are considered with the early interventions being those with minimal risk.  We are asking the following: • This approach is viewed as the foundation for clinical interventions. They should be implemented in a systematic and stepwise manner. • Most of the treatments are already medically proven with minimal or no risk. • All basic treatments are in place before more aggressive interventions are implemented. • That this process be considered a framework to test clinical protocols and novel therapies. Much work needs to be done regarding dosing and timing. • We are particularly interested in the potential of the following interventions, which do need to be looked at in a protocol.• o Allowing ketosis in the Mid and Late Phases of the illness. • o Considering the use of ketone bodies instead of glucose for fuel in Mid and Late Phases of illness. • o Eliminating glucocorticosteroids in the Early and Mid-Phases the use of steroids. • o Utilizing the anti-inflammatory cholinergic nervous system (vagal stimulation, nicotine patches, etc.). • o Closer monitoring of IL-6 to in real time deliver the most appropriate interventions.      Doi: 10.28991/SciMedJ-2020-02-SI-2   Full Text: PDF</text>

                <text>With the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place, families with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face a unique set of challenges related to a diverse set of issues. A qualitative study was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews from fifteen parents of children and adolescents from a non-public school for children with ASD. Questions covered the following topic areas: general COVID-19 experiences and concerns, changes in the child’s mood and behavior, changes in parent mood and behavior, and coping/advice. Quotes and descriptions from the participants were reviewed and grouped into thematic areas. Findings showed that parents of children with ASD are facing a wide range of challenges, including explaining COVID-19 and safety precautions to their child in a comprehensible way, assisting with e-learning, and guiding their child back into social situations and the community. As children with ASD have difficulties with transitions, parents stated the importance of creating structure in the home by creating schedules and boundaries, while allowing for flexibility as to not over enforce the rigidity children with autism often face. Advice on coping with the additional stressors were also shared. Parents recommended finding time for themselves to reset, utilizing support systems, and reflecting on daily pleasures as positive coping mechanisms. This study aimed to both develop an initial guide for families, teachers and clinicians caring for children with ASD and to create awareness in the community about the challenges presented by COVID-19 and shelter-in-place.</text>

                <text>Objectives: Health threat from COVID-19 airborne infection has become a public emergency of international concern. During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, people have been advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to maintain social distancing of at least 2 m to limit the risk of exposure to the coronavirus. Experimental data, however, show that infected aerosols and droplets trapped inside a turbulent puff cloud can travel 7 to 8 m. We carry out a physics modeling study for COVID-19 transport in air. Methodology: We propose a nuclear physics analogy-based modeling of the complex gas cloud and its payload of pathogen-virions. We estimate the puff effective stopping range adapting the high-energy physics model that describes the slow down of α-particles (in matter) via interactions with the electron cloud. Analysis Findings: We show that the cloud stopping range is proportional to the diameter of the puff times its density. We use our puff model to determine the average density of the buoyant fluid in the turbulent cloud. A fit to the experimental data yields , where  and  are the average density of the puff and the air. We demonstrate that temperature variation could cause an O (≲ ±8%) effect in the puff stopping range for extreme ambient cold or warmth. We also demonstrate that aerosols and droplets can remain suspended for hours in the air. Therefore, once the puff slows down sufficiently, and its coherence is lost, the eventual spreading of the infected aerosols becomes dependent on the ambient air currents and turbulence.</text>

                <text>The objective was to analyze the impact of the Google Classroom digital platform on teachers and students in rural areas in Ecuador and to corroborate whether the pedagogical tools it offers were able to fully or partially replace face-to-face classes. We worked methodologically from a descriptive scope with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. 34% of the students claim to understand the activities. These data assert that a considerable number of students do not understand the requests of the teachers reflected in the platform in most situations, which prompts to suggest a greater effort on the part of the institution to find new ways to promote cognitive learning among the student body. A proposal is presented with corrective actions for the institutions that have already implemented the system, and preventive actions for the establishments that plan to do so in the future.</text>

                <text>The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its effect on oxidative stress and apoptosis in patients with new coronavirus infection COVID-19.Materials and methods. 90 patients diagnosed with new coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus were examined. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions were conducted in 57 patients (38 in severe condition (CT 3-4), 19 in moderate condition (CT 1-2)). The procedures were performed in 1.4-1.6 ATA mode for 40 minutes, 247 sessions in total were performed. The effect of hyperbaric oxygenation was assessed by measuring the level of oxygen saturation, the severity of oxidative stress and apoptosis of blood lymphocytes.Results. In all examined patients with new coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2, positive changes such as dyspnea reduction and improvement of general well-being were registered after hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions. The level of oxygen saturation after the end of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy course was 95.0±1.6% (before the course — 91.3±5.9%), which allowed to return almost all patients to spontaneous respiration without the need for further oxygenation therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy did not reduce the total antioxidant activity, however, it was associated with a decrease in the blood malone dialdehyde from 4.34±0.52 pmol/l to 3.98±0.48 pmol/l and a decrease in open circuit potential of platinum electrode from -22.78±24.58 mV to -37.69±17.4 mV. Besides, the positive effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy was manifested in normalization of blood cell apoptosis.Conclusion. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients with new coronavirus infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an effective treatment method with multiple effects resulting in improvement of subjective indicators of the patients' condition, increase of hemoglobin oxygen saturation, decrease of lipid peroxidation intensity, activation of antioxidant system, restoration of pro- and antioxidant balance and apoptosis normalization.</text>

                <text>Health and safety is a problem that is intensively discussed nowadays. The failures in healthcare are called medical errors: if the patient’s condition worsens or he/she contracts an illness, then the actions that led to this are interpreted as medical errors. Medical errors can be the result of new procedures, extremes of age, complex or urgent care, improper documentation, illegible hand-writing, or patient actions. One of the ways to reduce medical error is an evaluation of its possibility, and then using the result of this evaluation to improve the medical organization units and processes in patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. This evaluation is possible based on methods of reliability engineering. The reliability engineering methods allow evaluating of different systems’ reliability and the influence of external and internal factors on system reliability. These methods’ application needs the system to be investigated or objective interpretation in terms of reliability engineering. Therefore, such a system in healthcare, for the diagnosis of disease, a patient’s treatment, the influence of different factors on a patient’s condition, and others, should be presented according to the rules and demands of reliability engineering. The first step is development of the mathematical representation of the investigated system or object according to the demands of the reliability analysis. One of the often-used mathematical representations in the reliability analysis of a system is the structure function. However, this mathematical representation needs completely specified initial data. The initial data from the healthcare domain for medical error analysis is uncertain and incompletely specified. Therefore, the development of this mathematical representation needs special methods. In this paper, a new method for the mathematical representation of system development based on uncertain and incompletely specified data is proposed. The system evaluation based on the structure function allows computing of many reliability indices and measures used in reliability engineering. The approbation of this method is considered based on an example of COVID-19 patients.</text>
