                <text>In this article we present a case study concerning a simple but efficient technical and logistic concept for the realization of blended teaching of mathematics and its applications in theoretical mechanics that was conceived, tested and implemented at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering (DICAM) of the University of Trento, Italy, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The concept foresees traditional blackboard lectures with a reduced number of students physically present in the lecture hall, while the same lectures are simultaneously made available to the remaining students, who cannot be present, via high-quality low-bandwidth online streaming. The case study presented in this paper was implemented in a single University Department and was carried out with a total of n=1011 students and n=68 professors participating in the study. Based on our first key assumption that traditional blackboard lectures, including the gestures and the facial expressions of the professor, are even nowadays still a very efficient and highly appreciated means of teaching mathematics at the university, this paper deliberately does not want to propose a novel pedagogical concept of how to teach mathematics at the undergraduate level, but rather presents a technical concept of how to preserve the quality of traditional blackboard lectures even during the COVID-19 pandemic and how to make them available to the students at home via online streaming with adequate audio and video quality even at low internet bandwidth. The second key assumption of this paper is that the teaching of mathematics is a dynamic creative process that requires the physical presence of students in the lecture hall as audience so that the professor can instantaneously fine-tune the evolution of the lecture according to his/her perception of the level of attention and the facial expressions of the students. The third key assumption of this paper is that students need to have the possibility to interact with each other personally, especially in the first years at the university. We report on the necessary hardware, software and logistics, as well as on the perception of the proposed blended lectures by undergraduate students from civil and environmental engineering at the University of Trento, Italy, compared to traditional lectures and also compared to the pure online lectures that were needed as emergency measure at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The evaluation of the concept was carried out with the aid of quantitative internet bandwidth measurements, direct comparison of transmitted video signals and a careful analysis of ex ante and ex post online questionnaires sent to students and professors.</text>

                <text>SARS-CoV-2, the beta coronavirus causing COVID-19, was isolated and categorizes as a novel one on January 7th, 2020 in China.[1] To date, official reports depict that SARS-CoV-2 has already infected 88.828.387 persons and caused 1.926.625 deaths worldwide.[2] On January 12th, 2020, China officials made public its genetic sequence, thus paving the way towards the research and development of diagnostic tests and vaccines.  With regard to vaccination, e large number of clinical trials were designed and are currently undergoing, of which 189 are listed in ClinicalTrials.gov. [3] However, up to date, only three vaccines have published their respective phase III clinical trial results in peer-reviewed medical journals. [4-6]  Vaccines are needed to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with Covid-19, and multiple vaccine platforms as AZD1222 (AstraZeneca) [4], BNT162b2 (Pfizer/BioNTech) [5] and mRNA-1273 (Moderna) have been involved in the rapid development of vaccine candidates.  Methodology: In this review, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, medRxiv, and bioRxiv were systematically scrutinized for peer-reviewed and preprint articles on phase III clinical trials of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2. In total, only three peer-reviewed papers fulfilling the search criteria were identified.                 <text>Introduction; The diagnosis of COVID-19 is quite challenging due to the inconsistent correlation between laboratory findings, radiological imaging, and the clinical picture and contact history of the patient. The patients who underwent cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) face double risk because CBP triggers an intense inflammatory response and the leading cause of mortality in COVID-19 patients is “cytokine storm”. In our institution 15 confirmed cases operated on with open-heart surgery. 9 cases isolated CABG, 4 cases valvular combined with CABG, and 1 valvular disease.  Materials and method; All patients undergoing elective or urgent cardiac surgery at “Mother Theresa” ’s Hospital from 11 March to 30 November 2020 were included in this study. Patients diagnosed with COVID-19 infection via positive throat swab taken due to clinical suspicion postoperatively were reviewed. Patients characteristics, type of intervention, date of COVID-19 diagnosis.  Results: 9 patients (72%) normal recovery, no respiratory failure, only 3-5 days of fever (max 39,4). 3 of them a moderate respiratory failure. 3 patients with severe respiratory failure. Only 3 deaths (26,6%).  Recommendation: It's important to a preoperative screening for COVID-19 patients.  The outcome of cardiac surgical patients who contracted COVID-19 infection perioperatively is extremely poor. Aggressive respiratory assistance (early intubation), high doses of corticosteroids, and anticoagulation, better results.</text>

                <text>The purpose of this study was to describe agriculture and natural resource (ANR) leader business owners’ initial concerns and feelings about the impacts of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Based on the theories of opinion leadership and bounded rationality, researchers analyzed survey findings to identify and describe ANR business owners’ 1) business and economic concerns associated with COVID-19, 2) communication concerns associated with COVID-19, and 3) any other concerns or impacts experienced due to COVID-19. Findings indicated that the majority of respondents were concerned about their bottom lines, employees missing work, and their abilities to provide employees a safe workplace. Additionally, respondents were concerned about the impact of COVID-19 on the U.S. economy. Regarding communication concerns, respondents were concerned about others sharing inaccurate COVID-19 information. When asked about additional concerns related to COVID-19, many respondents noted their concerns about economic impacts, personal and business finances, and canceled events causing them to become unable to interact with customers. Overall, the biggest concerns were related to economic impacts and misinformation. Recommendations for future research are to continue to assess this population as the pandemic continues, and again when the health crisis ends to understand the recovery process for ANR leader business owners.</text>

                <text>Objective The aim of this article is to assess the initial impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on ophthalmology resident training and wellness.            Design Online national survey of ophthalmology residents distributed by residency program directors and education coordinators of participating programs.            Setting US ophthalmology residency programs during the COVID-19 pandemic (May 20th, 2020 to June 10th, 2020).            Participants Ophthalmology residents enrolled in the US residency programs currently in postgraduate years two through four of training.            Results Two-hundred thirty-six of 785 (30.1%) residents responded to the survey. One-hundred eighteen of 234 (50.4%) residents reported exposure to known COVID-19 positive patients, and of those exposed, 44 of 118 (37.2%) felt that they did not have adequate personal protective equipment. One-hundred ninety-five of 233 (83.7%) residents reported a decrease in primary surgical cases during the pandemic, with 68 (29.2%) reporting a loss of more than 50 primary cases. One-hundred sixty-four of 234 (70.1%) residents were concerned that the pandemic would negatively impact their surgical skills beyond residency, and 15% reported that they were more likely to pursue fellowship due to the pandemic. 31.0% of residents met criteria of burnout, 9.1% were depressed, and 13.4% had generalized anxiety. Concerns about COVID-19 infection were correlated with increased anxiety and burnout during the pandemic.            Conclusions The COVID-19 pandemic has decreased resident surgical and clinical volumes and has negatively impacted ophthalmology residency training. Residents with increased concern for contracting COVID-19 and those actively engaged in a job search had significantly higher odds of increased anxiety.</text>

A pesquisa é de natureza qualiquantitativa, do tipo Estudo de Caso. A análise dos resultados demonstrou a adaptação e a satisfação dos estudantes com a sequência didática adotada, que alternou metodologias assíncronas e síncronas, em especial a utilização dos vídeos gravados pelos professores. Esses resultados podem fornecer dados aos estudos que buscam investigar o impacto das tecnologias digitais na formação de alunos do ensino superior, porém devem ser considerados a partir do contexto em que foram adotados.</text>

                <text>The year 2020 was characterized by an unprecedented number of neologism and coinages that appeared in the English language under the influence of the pandemic of Covid-19. A significant proportion of these coinages is made up of blends, that is, word formations that consist of two source lexemes which merge or overlap. This paper purports to describe the Covid-related blends in the English language and analyse their structure. The article presents different approaches to a morphological classification of blends and makes a distinction between blends and clipped compounds. The analysis of the morphological structure of Covid-related blends showed that among these lexical formations, substitution blends prevail over overlap blends; a common type of blending is combining the first source word in its entirety with the final splinter of the second source word.</text>

The research used quantitative methods with an online survey by survey monkey program involved 669 respondents based on twelve ethnicities in Indonesia. The data of this research analysis by the Rasch analysis model. The results showed generally experienced stress and anxiety in the moderate category although some respondents also experienced stress and anxiety in mild and severe categories, and only a small proportion was in the normal category. The need for continued treatment requires counselors, psychologists, and other relevant therapists.</text>

                <text>Economic and environmental interventions in the Anthropocene have created disruptions that are threatening the capacity of socio-ecological systems to recover from adversities and to be able to maintain key functions for preserving resilience. The authors of this paper underscore the benefits of a workshop-based methodology for developing a vision and an approach to the inner processes of creation that can be used to increase resilience, to cope with societal vulnerabilities and to develop the tools for future planning at local, regional and global scales. Diverse areas of discourse ranging from climate science and sustainability, to psychoanalysis, linguistics and eco-philosophy, contributed meaningfully to the transdisciplinary approach for enhancing resilience. A framework is proposed that can be used throughout society, that integrates the importance of human subjectivity and the variability of human contexts, especially gender, in shaping human experiences and responses to climate change impacts and challenges such as the covid-19 pandemic. Within the domain of socio-economic research, the authors challenge researchers and policy makers to expand future perspectives of resilience through the proposed systemic resilience vision. Movement towards transformative thinking and actions requires inner exploration and visualization of desirable futures for integrating ecological, social, cultural, ethical, and economic dimensions as agencies for catalyzing the transition to livable, sustainable, equitable, ethical, and resilient societies.</text>
