Abstract: The objective of this work was the design and implementation of preventive measures and noise control for the Energy Generation Center of the company Dipor S.A., to safeguard the hearing health of workers. It began with the identification of noise sources and activities that can cause hearing damage or inconvenience for intellectual activities, to further evaluate the noise levels using a calibrated sound level meter and under the UNE-EN ISO 9612: 2009. The measurement results showed that the noise of the generator and offices exceed the permissible limit of 85 dB(A) and 70 dB(A), respectively; limits established by Executive Order 2393. To minimize the risk of hearing loss, the use of hearing protectors was established by safety signals; and a plan to reduce the noise exposure time of workers. An acoustic conditioning was modeled inside the office to reduce the noise level and prevent the intellectual activities being interfered by excessive noise in the environment. A training plan was implemented to show the effects of noise on health and control measures implemented by the company. Audiograms were performed to workers before and after implementation of the project to check the status of hearing health and determine whether over time suffered hearing impairment. Additional, a plan of preventive maintenance of mechanical elements capable of causing noise inside the generator was implemented.</text>

<text>A study was carried out to evaluate the potential use of the two-source Shuttleworth and Wallace (SW) model to compute the intra-orchard spatial variability of actual evapotranspiration (ET) of olive trees using satellite images and ground-based climate data. The study was conducted in a drip-irrigated olive orchard using satellite images (Landsat 7 ETM+), which were acquired on clear sky days during the main phenological stages (2009/10 growing season). The performance of the SW model was evaluated using instantaneous latent heat flux (LE) measurements that were obtained from an eddy correlation system. At the time of satellite overpass, the estimated values of net radiation ( Rn i ) and soil heat flux ( G i ) were compared with ground measurements from a four-way net radiometer and soil heat flux plates, respectively. The results indicated that the SW model subestimated instantaneous LE (W m−2) and daily ET (mm d−1), with errors of 12% and 10% of observed values, respectively. The root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) values for instantaneous LE were 26 and 20 W m−2, while those for daily values of ET were 0.31 and 0.28 mm d−1, respectively. Finally, the submodels computed Rn i and G i with errors of between 4.0% and 8.0% of measured values and with RMSE and MAE between 25 and 39 W m−2.</text>

<text>The Recovery Coach and Peer Support Initiative (RCPSI) in Indiana focused on implementing peer recovery coaches (PRCs) to engage opioid overdose patients in emergency department (ED) settings and promote entry into recovery services. State workers and researchers organized an informal learning collaborative primarily through teleconference meetings with representatives of 11 health service vendors to support implementation. This study presents qualitative analysis of the teleconference meeting discussions that guided RCPSI implementation to display how the informal learning collaborative functioned to support implementation. This informal learning collaborative model can be applied in similar situations where there is limited guidance available for a practice being implemented by multidisciplinary teams. Authors conducted a thematic analysis of data from 32 stakeholder teleconference meetings held between February 2018 and April 2020. The analysis explored the function of these collaborative teleconferences for stakeholders. Major themes representing functions of the meetings for stakeholders include: social networking; executing the implementation plan; identifying and addressing barriers and facilitators; educating on peer recovery services and target population; and working through data collection. During the last 2 months of meetings, stakeholders discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic created multiple barriers but increased use of telehealth for recovery services. Teleconference meetings served as the main component of an informal learning collaborative for the RCPSI through which the vendor representatives could speak with each other and with organizers as they implemented the use of PRCs in EDs.</text>
