In this context, Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies can be a fundamental tool for economic recovery by favouring the shift towards sustainable manufacturing. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the readiness of countries for I4.0 in order to guide policies in defining incentives to promote I4.0 and unlock its potential in the pandemic era. In this context, the paper aims to understand the readiness and responsiveness of the Italian Regions with respect to I4.0 concepts prior to the pandemic and identify best practices that are supporting companies in I4.0 adoption, with a focus on those incentivizing sustainable practices. An assessment framework before the pandemic is provided based on two dimensions: the readiness of firms to invest in I4.0 and favourable structural conditions. The assessment shows a group of alert regions as opposed to a group of unprepared, mostly linked Northern and Southern differences. Assuming that the “alert regions” are more likely to effectively manage and overcome the post- COVID-19 crisis, we provide a picture of how the Italian Regions have sought to encourage the adoption of digital technologies to improve resilience after the shock. The analysis shows that supporting measures mainly address Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. Furthermore, the tenders encouraging the adoption of I4.0 suggest that collaboration among stakeholders will become imperative. Método. Se analizaron los datos registrados por la Dirección General de Epidemiología de la Secretaría de Salud del Gobierno Federal de México respecto de los casos confirmados de infección por SARS-CoV-2. El análisis se limitó a los datos de adultos de 20 años o más registrados hasta el 10 de julio del 2020 (n=234 870). Los indicadores de severidad de la COVID-19 fueron hospitalización, desarrollo de neumonía, requerimiento de intubación o ingreso a la unidad de cuidados intensivos, y muerte. Se estimaron diferencias de acuerdo con el nivel de marginación municipal, la pertenencia a un grupo indígena, la región geográfica y el sector de los servicios. A partir de modelos de regresión multinivel se estimaron razones de prevalencias (RP). Resultados. Las personas que residían en municipios con mayor marginación tuvieron mayor riesgo de presentar los cuatro indicadores de formas severas de COVID-19 (RP=1,05 o 1,06). Las personas indígenas tuvieron mayor riesgo de neumonía (RP=1,22), hospitalización (RP=1,14) y muerte (RP=1,23). Entre los casos atendidos en servicios privados fue menor el riesgo de muerte (RP=0,40), pero mayor el uso de intubación o ingreso a la unidad de cuidados intensivos (RP=4,45). Conclusiones. Las tendencias observadas indican que los efectos de la COVID-19 no solo se deben a las características biológicas del SARS-CoV-2, sino también a los recursos (o falta de ellos) para enfrentarlo, los cuales están distribuidos por procesos sociales. Four full-term, singleton infants were born to pregnant women who tested positive for COVID-19 in the city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, China, where the disease was first identified. Of the three infants, for who consent to be diagnostically tested was provided, none tested positive for the virus. None of the infants developed serious clinical symptoms such as fever, cough, diarrhea, or abnormal radiologic or hematologic evidence, and all four infants were alive at the time of hospital discharge. Two infants had rashes of unknown etiology at birth, and one had facial ulcerations. One infant had tachypnea and was supported by non-invasive mechanical ventilation for 3 days.
