<text>Information about the production and quality of tomato cultivars under organic management and the conditions of climate and soil from the north region of Minas Gerais State, Brasil, are scarce. Thus, this research was carried out to evaluate the production and quality of tomato cultivars under organic management, in this region. The treatments consisted of four open pollination tomato cultivars (Chadwick Cherry, Pitanga vermelha, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Kada) and five hybrid cultivars (Marguerita, Nicolas, Ellen, Magestade and Dominador). The experimental design was of randomized blocks with three replications. The experiment was carried out using organic fertilization in the initial preparation of the area, compost and rock phosphate and sprays with Bordeaux mixture, neem oil and fertilizer. The marketable yield varied from 12.3 t ha-1 to 23.9 t ha-1. The hybrid Marguerita presented higher marketable production (23.9 t ha-1). The cultivars Chadwick Cherry and Pitanga Vermelha reached similar production as most cultivars and larger proportions of marketable and giant fruits, and therefore, better market quality. All the cultivars presented low potassium and manganese levels in foliar tissue suggesting an evaluation after various organic manuring cycles and better nutrition conditions are necessary to permit the comparison of the performance of cultivars in this system.

Thus, it is essential to analyze the environmental impacts of this sector, especially the destination of textile losses from cutting processes. One option to take advantage of textile waste is to transform them into new products. In this way, the present work aimed to evaluate the impact of the production of a twine bobbin from textile waste that is used in the manufacture of handicraft products. The method was based on the ISO 14044 standard and the product system covered from the cradle to the factory gate. Primary data were obtained for the internal activities of the plant, while the other inventory data came from the ecoinvent database. We evaluated the environmental impacts and energy demand. The interpretation of the study considered the contribution analysis of the impacts per group of processes and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the influence of the methodological choices of the product system modeling and the extension of the system boundaries to include the use and post-use steps. The inclusion of the environmental burden to produce the textile flaps as co-products from garment sector demonstrated representative increases in environmental impacts and energy demand, thus the methodological choices of inventory modeling were decisive in the comparative results of recycled and conventional twine. The extension of the system boundary demonstrated the representativeness of the environmental impact and energy demand contributions of the product use step depending on washing and drying mode. Thus, the definition of the procedure of allocation and extension of the boundaries of the system influenced significantly the environmental impacts and energy demand of the product made from recycled twine. These results demonstrate the need to define the product category rules to allow the comparability of life cycle studies of textile products.    Keywords: Life cycle assessment (LCA). Chitinases synthesized by plants, fungi, insects and bacteria have a huge potential owing to its wide range of applications. In this work we review generalities about chitin, chitosane, chitinases and chitosanases from bacteria and their use in the production of chitin-oligosaccharides. This kind of biomolecules has created a diversified biotechnology market, including unlimited applications such as food additives and biopreservative, in biomedical applications focused mainly on anti-tumor activities, as antioxidants and anti-diabetics. In agriculture chitin-oligosaccharides has been applied as nodulation factors, osmoprotectors agents and antioxidants to benefit crop growth. It is important to note the potential use of chitinases biosynthesized by Bacillus thuringiensis, the most important biopesticide worldwide.

It is used to develop process modeling and control methods and algorithms, enabling the reduction of the complexity of a project and its implementation, aiming to solve problems that are hardly treated by classic techniques. The development of intelligent systems that serve to support decision-making in the area of agricultural science has aroused great interest among farmers. Therefore, this work has as its target to develop a software based on fuzzy rules to help to manage Catasetum Fimbriatum species.</text>
