In the banana zone of Magdalena in Colombia has been reported a 30% decrease in crop production of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis var. Flavicarpa) due to the death of plants caused by the Dryer or vascular wilt disease, which is associated with the fungus Fusarium solani. In order to help manage of the disease was evaluated under greenhouse conditions the effect of the biocontrol strain native TCN-014 and CCL-005 commercial strain of Trichoderma harzianum against F. solani. For the evaluation were used plants with two months of age, set in the greenhouse; were tested two times of application of the antagonist: (1) inoculating the antagonist five days after of pathogen agent, and (2) inoculating the antagonist five days before the pathogen. The experiment was established under an experimental design of randomized blocks with 2x3 factorial arrangement, and data were submitted to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and comparison of averages using the multiple range test of Duncan. Results indicated that to inoculate the antagonist before the pathogen is obtained a better biocontrol effect of F. solani using concentrations of 106 and 108 conidia/ mL of both native and commercial strains. The results suggest an effective action of T. harzianum as a biocontrol of F. solani, showing that it can perform field studies in order to develop a byproduct for ecological management of wilt in cultivation of passion fruit.</text>

Palabras clave: PGPR, fertilidad del suelo, bacterias diazotróficas, consorcio bacteriano, rendimiento   Abstract: Bacteria previously isolated, characterized as diazotrophic and inorganic phosphate solubilizers were evaluated under field conditions as plant growth promoters on the maize production when soil fertility was changed. The strains MF1b and MF5, alone and in consortium, were inoculated on maize seeds (HIMECA-95), and these were sown under the following chemical fertility conditions: K, NK, PN, RK, NPK, and NRK (R: phosphate rock). Total dry weight, and N and P contents of the grain were determined at the end of the experiment; also, the % of relative agronomic efficiency (RAE) was calculated. Results showed that inoculation with the strain MF5 alone and in consortium, with the addition of NK fertilizer increased the % RAE in 130 and 403 for the dry weight, in 463 and 116 for the N content, and in 152 and 376 for the P content, respectively, allowing an increase in both production and grain quality. Moreover, it was observed variations among the evaluated parameters which could be related to the low N and P status of the soil, the soil fertility changes after the addition of the highly soluble chemical fertilizers, and the interaction between autochthonous microbial communities and the introduced bacteria. It is concluded that the affectivity of a potential microbial biofertilizer for agriculture should be carefully evaluated under different fertility conditions of soils. Key words: PGPR, soil fertility, diazotrophic, bacteria consortium, yield.</text>

<text>Cassava stands out in the brazilian economy because it is grown in several regions, due to tolerance to diverse soil and climate conditions. To be conducted effectively a property must be prepared cost estimates for decision-making, especially in the Southeast region of Goiás, where the cultivation of species is performed empirically. Therefore, the objective of this work was to survey the production costs and to determine the economic viability of the implantation of the cassava crop through economic indicators. For this purpose, the economic viability study was carried out using the following indicators: Gross Revenue (RB), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), Cost Benefit Index (IBC) and Payback updated. Sensitivity analysis was carried out in order to design scenarios that could contextualize a real situation. The feasibility analysis was carried out with a rate of 6.6% pa, in a 5-year horizon, RB = R $ 10,350.00, IRR = 45%, NPV = R $ 49,268.45, IBC = 1.37 and Payback updated = second year. In the sensitivity analysis it was shown that the oscillation between +10% and -10% did not make the project unfeasible, ensuring the return of the capital invested in the project, except when these are carried out simultaneously, rendering the results unfeasible. According to the conditions of the study concluded that the project is economically viable and the cultivation of cassava stands out as a good alternative in the practice of economic diversification in the production of the rural property.</text>

<text>Cropping systems like organic farming, selling products at a higher price and promoting environmental sustainability by reducing fertilizer and pesticides, can be more profitable than conventional systems. An economic evaluation of three cropping systems in a seven year period experiment was performed, using a common rotation (fallow-barley-vetch-durum wheat) in a semi-arid rainfed field of Spain. The minimum input system included mouldboard ploughing, cultivator preparation, sowing and harvest. The conventional system involved mineral fertilizer and herbicide treatments, while the organic system involved composted manure and mechanical weed control. The resulting economic margins were highest with the minimum input system, followed by the organic and conventional systems. If the cereal grain from the minimum input system was sold at a higher price on the organic market, this system was the most profitable. Without the price difference, the organic system was as profitable as the conventional one.

As variáveis analisadas foram: granulometria, densidade e porosidade do solo, Carbono Orgânico Total (COT) e calculada a Matéria Orgânica do Solo (MOS). Com relação aos teores de Carbono e MOS, a área de mata obteve as maiores médias, enquanto que para o efluxo de CO2, as áreas manejadas obtiveram médias superiores, demonstrando os benefícios destes manejos para a melhoria da qualidade do solo.CO2 efflux, physical attribute and soil carbon in agro-ecological management systems Abstract: Evaluation of soil in agroecological systems is of fundamental importance to check the influence of this type of soil management. The aim of this study is to evaluate the physical, CO2 efflux and the carbon in different management conditions. The survey area belongs to Alternative Technology Services Unit, located in Gloria do Goitá, Pernambuco, which develops techniques based on agro-ecological principles for sustainable development in the rural environment. Three areas were selected: Permaculture, Culture rotation and Forest in regeneration, for each of the areas disturbed and undisturbed soil samples were collected from two layers 0-20 and 20-40 cm. The variables analyzed were: grain size, density, soil porosity, Total Carbon (TC) and Soil Organic Matter (SOM). It was also performed measuring the soil CO2 efflux, using a specific camera to soil coupled to Irga 6400XT. The results were analyzed by comparison of means using the Scott-Knot test at a probability of 5%. The permaculture and crop rotation had physical attributes values that approached the forest condition. With respect to C and MOS levels, the forest area had the highest averages, while for soil CO2 efflux, the areas managed obtained higher averages, demonstrating the benefits of these managements to improve soil quality.</text>
