<text>The editorial comments on the challenges of current context from the perspective of the omnipresence of Information and Communication Technologies, mainly in largest cities from developed and on developing countries. There is a growing demand for infrastructure expansion beyond the largest city centers, especially the increase of wireless network connection availability for mobile devices. In Brazil, the expansion of availability to this type of connection was greater in rural zones than urban zones, which is a reflex of the necessity of this type of infrastructure in rural zones. However, the well-known success of the use of the type of infrastructure to rural management achieved by large rural entrepreneurs and the Brazilian agricultural vocation increase the necessity of public policies to this new context of Agriculture 4.0, where we highlighted the rural technological and educational theme, especially the Rural Youth (the rural zone youth). The development of this kind of literacy could be one of the motivational components to reduce the migration to urban areas, to reduce possible information asymmetries e to balance the digital literacy between rural and urban citizens, surpassing the limits of harness the datasets and the information that circulates on the network and, consequently, limiting the citizen’s action radius on informational field.</text>

O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é conhecer a proposta do ProJovem Campo. The research was carried out in the Japuara community located 8 kilometers from the municipality of Canindé in the state of Ceará. The class works in a municipal building in a room assigned to the night shift. The Proyoung field-know-how of the land is a program of the Brazilian Federal government that serves students and charges of the field, in the perspective of the integration of know-how and professional qualification, proposing a specific way of relating the academic know-how with The knowledge of the countryside, strengthening family agriculture and the culture of the countryside. The general objective of this research is to know the proposal of the Proyoung field. We have as specific objectives, to investigate how the Proyoung was deployed in the community, to check the look of the trainers as to the execution of the young field in the point of view of the teachers. The theoretical reference is the theory of Paulo Freire. The pedagogy of the oppressed committed to the struggle for their liberation, this contributes to the strengthening of the culture and customs of peasants, thus building critical subjects and with emancipatory vision who know their reality and can transform it through the Field education. The methodology will be a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was carried out with the application of the interviews to the teachers/trainers in the project, in the perspective of understanding the look of the trainers, that through the analysis of the data we will understand a little of the experience of the program within the community. We realize that in a way, these public policies, which are achievements and struggles of movements contribute a great deal to a better quality of life of the people living in the field.</text>

Pumpkin is a vegetable that has a great importance on family farm in northeastern Brazil. Many communities have found difficulties in the commercialization of all the produced fruits, due to the large phenotypic variability, which does not always attend the market requirements. The study of genetic parameters is important to provide information on the deployment and conduction of breeding programs. Thus, the aim of this study was to estimate genetic, phenotypic and environmental parameters for morphological and agronomic characters in pumpkin. Seven pumpkin genotypes were studied in the crop years 2008 and 2009, considering as random the effect of years and as fixed the effect of populations. The analyzed variables were fruit length and width, pulp thickness in the peduncle, the middle and the lower region of the fruit, height and width of the fruit internal cavity, fruit yield, number of seeds per fruit and fresh weight of 100 seeds. Pulp thickness in the peduncle presented the highest coefficients of genetic variation, 25.10 and 41.32 in the two evaluated agricultural years, respectively. Heritability was above 90% for the variables fruit length (98 and 97%), fruit width (98 and 95%), pulp thickness in the peduncle and in the middle region of the fruit (98 and 96%), and height of the fruit internal cavity (99 and 97%), in the two evaluated agricultural years. For the CVg/CVe ratio, the values were greater than 1.0 for the characters fruit length and width, pulp thickness in the peduncle and in the middle region of the fruit, width and height of the fruit internal cavity, fruit yield, number of seeds per fruit, and fresh weight of 100 seeds. In the joint analysis of means, the genotypes showed different behavior in relation to the evaluated characters.</text>

The paper presents the experience of a program for local food production in the Yaguajay municipality, Sancti Spiritus province, which can be reference for other municipalities with similar characteristics. Such program involves the livestock production and mixed crops enterprises, livestock production and forestry enterprise, as well as farmer cooperatives. It is developed in the context of the Yaguajay Macroproject, from the ECOCIST complex, which integrates Higher Education-Knowledge-Technology-Innovation-Society to enhance the interrelations with knowledge institutions in the process of their social appropriation in one territory. The integral program for local food production emerges in 2004, has 29 tasks, inserted in four subprograms (Livestock Production, Mixed Crops, Forestry and Fruits, and Industry); it is executed through projects and gives priority to technology adoption and training, from the interaction with universities, research centers and other organizations. Among the results stand out the self-supply of fresh milk, improvement of cattle and its feeding base, development of sheep, pig and rabbit livestock, National Reference municipality in Urban Agriculture, biopesticide production and elimination strategy of undesirable ligneous plants.</text>
