The pandemic presents a range of unique challenges to Extension including revisions to resource allocations and shifts in programmatic focus. Guided by a needs assessment framework, this paper assesses the rapid response of Utah State University (USU) Extension to meet residents needs during COVID-19. This correlational study gathered data from 199 Extension professionals (n = 199) at USU Extension. Findings show Extension professionals had good capacity to implement outreach activities related to online education, engaging residents, and external partnerships. Further, Extension took rapid actions in several areas in response to COVID-19, including providing online learning activities for youth, and conducting online classes in place of traditional face-to-face classes. Findings show professionals’ outreach capacity was positively related to the total number of actions taken in response to COVID-19. Extension professionals addressed COVID-19 topics such as telehealth, temporary homeschooling kids, and stress management. This study demonstrates the adaptability of Extension to an unpredictable event and provides a framework to assess response. Findings are geared towards effective resource allocation to support Extension’s role in meeting residents’ needs during COVID-19. The results of this review show that promoting comics of state defense knights through webtoons can become a medium of persuasion for education on preventing and overcoming Covid-19. This paper aims to assess the initial response undertaken by Central European companies in the early stages of the outbreak. The survey was conducted as a research method to collect data from a large number of companies. Since it takes time to assess long-term effects of the pandemic and related measures, various changes in supply chains are examined as the early results of the COVID-19 crisis and measures implemented by companies. The study examines how different economy sectors were changed due to this situation. The changes in operating volumes were identified as the most commonly used measures to accommodate new market developments. However, developing the new supply chain partnership was the most successful measure. This measure correlates with an increase in revenues and an increase in the number of customers. In some cases, disruptions in supply chains had positive effects on revenues as a reaction to the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak. Cross-country examinations found that all Polish companies implemented at least one new measure to tackle this crisis. Nearly 20% of Slovak companies and nearly 30% of Czech companies made no changes in their operations during the early stages of the crisis. Cleavage and activation of SARS S by a host cell protease is essential for infectious viral entry and the responsible enzymes are potential targets for antiviral intervention. The type II transmembrane serine protease TMPRSS2 cleaves and activates SARS S in cell culture and potentially also in the infected host. Here, we investigated which determinants in SARS S control cleavage and activation by TMPRSS2. We found that SARS S residue R667, a previously identified trypsin cleavage site, is also required for S protein cleavage by TMPRSS2. The cleavage fragments produced by trypsin and TMPRSS2 differed in their decoration with N-glycans, suggesting that these proteases cleave different SARS S glycoforms. Although R667 was required for SARS S cleavage by TMPRSS2, this residue was dispensable for TMPRSS2-mediated S protein activation. Conversely, residue R797, previously reported to be required for SARS S activation by trypsin, was dispensable for S protein cleavage but required for S protein activation by TMPRSS2. Collectively, these results show that different residues in SARS S control cleavage and activation by TMPRSS2, suggesting that these processes are more complex than initially appreciated. Entretanto, com a inoculação, ocorreu acréscimo significativo no crescimento da gramínea e diferenciação e maximização nos efeitos desses insumos.To study the dynamics of native AM fungi, in natural cerrado soil and three degraded areas, quantitative and qualitative avaliations were done, in the dry and rainy seasons. Those avaliations included field experiment plots from a degraded area with lime, natural peat and castor bean cake. Two greenhouse experiments studied the contribution of AM fungi to the stablishment of a spontaneous grass Aristida setifolia Kunth. The first used natural and steam sterilized substrates from the four areas; the second, field plots substrates steam sterilized with and without inoculation of three native AM fungi. In the field, soil density was higher in degraded areas and both areas presented high soil acidity. The AM fungi were present in all areas with higher number of spores and species in the rainy season. In the greenhouse experiments, native AM fungi promoted a significant increase in plant shoot dry matter. In the noninoculated field plots substrates, there was no significant effect of lime and organic compounds on plant growth. However, with the inoculation, there was a significant increase in grass shoot dry matter, with a significant improvement and differentiation of the field treatments effects. Seu cultivo ainda é pouco explorado no Brasil, mas é uma nova opção de diversificação para a agricultura familiar. A planta pode chegar até dois metros de altura, adotando-se sistema de condução e práticas de poda. O objetivo foi avaliar o crescimento vegetativo das plantas e o potencial produtivo da cultura da fisális no Planalto Sul Catarinense em diferentes sistemas de condução e espaçamentos. Foram testados quatro sistemas de condução (livre, espaldeira, “X” e “V”), dois espaçamentos (3,00 x 0,50 m e 3,00 x 1,00 m, entre filas e plantas, respectivamente) e 11 períodos de avaliação durante as safras de 2008/09 e 2009/10. As plantas de fisális apresentaram comprimento médio dos ramos principais de 2,48 m de altura e diâmetro médio de 15,25 mm. Plantas de fisális conduzidas no sistema “V”, sob o espaçamento 3,00 x 1,00 m, apresentaram maior diâmetro médio dos ramos principais. Plantas conduzidas nos sistemas livre, espaldeira e “X”, com espaçamentos mais adensados (3,00 x 0,50 m), proporcionaram maior produtividade de fisális nas condições edafo-climáticas do Planalto Sul Catarinense.
