The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of complementary fertilization with the biofertilizer Supermagro, cow urine and cassava wastewater in the production and levels of nutrients in the leaves of willowleaf mandarim 'Rio' (Citrus deliciosa Tenore) in organic cultivation system. The experimental design used was the randomized blocks, with five replications. All plants were fertilized with cow manure and the applied treatments were complementary to this fertilization. Ten treatments were constituted, by fertilizer types and by modes of application (soil, foliar spray or both) plus a control. The fruits were harvested in 2006 and 2007. The nutrient content in leaves was determined in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The complementary fertilization did not affect the fruit production. However, the cow urine applied on soil, with or without foliar spray, and cassava wastewater, independently of mode of application, increased S contents of leaves. The biofertilizer Supermagro when applied in soil increased B content of leaf, and when it was applied by foliar sprays increased Zn content of leaves.</text>

A presença do esterco bovino incrementou a produtividade do algodão. The naturally colored cotton has potentiality for growth in Northeast Semi-arid, where the edaphoclimatic conditions permit the cultivation without agrochemicals. The experiment was conducted in randomized blocks, with nine treatments and four replications, during 2000, 2001 and 2002. The treatments were originated from a factorial 4x2+1, consisting of four levels of decomposed cattle manure (10, 20, 30 and 40 t ha-1) and two sites of application (below and by the side of seeds), plus an absolute control without organic manure. Organic fertilization increased the cotton yield. Under regular climatic conditions, the sidewise application was more efficient, reaching the maximum yield with 30 t ha-1. The uniformity of fiber length decreased and the index of short fibers increased with the increment of the levels of organic manure.</text>

The production of heart-of-palm of peach palm (Bactris gasipaes Kunth), both main shoot and first offshoot, was evaluated using different sources (organic and inorganic) and schedules of fertilization on an OXISOL in Central Amazonia. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with three repetitions, with a 2 x 7 factorial, with types of plant (spineless and spiny, Yurimaguas, Peru germplasm) and different forms of fertilization (control without fertilizer; manure in the planting pit (25 t/ha); mineral fertilizer in the planting pit (225-90-180 kg.ha-1 N-P2O5-K2O); manure spread one month after planting (25 t..ha-1); mineral fertilizer spread one month after planting (225-90-180 kg.ha-1); manure in the pit (12,5 t.ha-1) + mineral fertilizer spread after planting (112,5-45-90 kg.ha-1); and mineral fertilizer divided in three applications (in the planting pit 75 kg.ha-1 N, 90 kg.ha-1 P2O5, 60 kg.ha-1 K2O + two applications de 75 kg ha-1 N, 60 kg.ha-1 K2O), each repeated in the 2º and 3º years by broadcasting). The application of both organic and mineral fertilizers increased pH and available soil nutrient concentrations. The production of heart-of-palm of the main shoot and the first offshoot for spineless (1407 kg.ha-1) and spiny (1037 kg.ha-1) was similar for the main shoot and different for the offshoot. The treatments with manure (main plant 1551 kg ha-1 and off-shoots 3004 kg ha-1), and manure in the pit + mineral fertilizer spread (main stem 1545 kg.ha-1 and off-shoots 2986 kg.ha-1) were most productive. After 40 months the control did not produce heart-of-palm.</text>
