As transformações ocorridas na sociedade atual refletem diretamente em escolhas alimentares não saudáveis. Como consequência desse padrão alimentar, surgem o sobrepeso e a obesidade, e também doenças crônicas não transmissíveis. O Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (o PNAE) configura uma importante estratégia do Governo Federal para o enfrentamento desse problema alimentar. Desde suas primeiras resoluções, busca-se cada vez mais cardápios saudáveis, regionalizados e adaptados à cultura local. A mais recente normativa do programa obriga estados e municípios a comprarem parte de seus alimentos de agricultores familiares rurais. Este estudo analisa reflexões dos agricultores familiares em relação à dinâmica de abastecimento dos produtos da agricultura familiar para a alimentação escolar. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, realizado segundo a técnica qualitativa por meio de entrevista semiestruturada no município de Araripe, Ceará. Foram entrevistados catorze agricultores familiares que fornecem gêneros alimentícios para escolas e identificadas duas categorias principais nos depoimentos: dificuldades e benefícios. Pode-se perceber que questões relacionadas ao pagamento, ao transporte e a estrutura física destacaram-se como os principais entraves para que essa prática fosse efetivada. Quanto aos benefícios, o mais recorrente foi a oportunidade de emprego que esse mercado trouxe. Os resultados indicam a necessidade de ações por parte da gestão local para reconhecer o potencial agrícola dessa região, além de estabelecer parcerias com outros órgãos, com vistas a melhorar a capacitação desses agricultores e subsidiá-los no atendimento às especificações legais do programa. Isso pode contribuir para o aumento da renda e da qualidade de vida entre as famílias rurais.

O objetivo deste estudo é relatar e refletir sobre as Intervenções Informacionais desenvolvidas em um projeto de extensão universitária que promove assistência às famílias de crianças e adolescentes com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA), durante a pandemia da COVID-19. Para tanto, trata-se de um relato de experiência que se deu em três etapas: 1) acolhimento e levantamento das demandas das famílias, 2) elaboração de materiais informativos e 3) articulação com o território, divulgação e acesso aos materiais. Cartilhas, vídeo e infográfico foram produzidos e divulgados em diferentes mídias sociais e compartilhados em grupos online de familiares e profissionais.

Así como ocurre en otras regiones, enfermedades de plantas también son responsables por grandes pérdidas en la agricultura del estado. De este modo, en función de la intensa demanda por diagnósticos, fue creado en el ano de 2002 la “Clínica de Enfermedades de Plantas”, localizada en el Laboratorio de Fitopatología (CCA/UFSC). Su creación estrecho los lazos entre productores rurales, técnicos e la UFSC, auxiliando en el diagnostico para los problemas fitopatológicos, siendo este su objetivo principal. A lo largo de estos ocho años de existencia, a Clínica recibió un total de 252 muestras, provenientes en su mayoría de Santa Catarina, pero también de Paraná y Río Grande del Sur, presentando principalmente enfermedades causadas por hongos. Además, el trabajo realizado por la Clínica contribuyo para capacitar profesionales en el área de fitopatología, siendo una fuente de aprendizaje significativamente positiva para profesores y alumnos, pues trae para el ambiente académico la problemática real enfrentada por los agricultores en el campo.

A cultura do milho é uma das principais no cenário econômico agrícola brasileiro. Seu cultivo pode ser realizado por genótipos comerciais e locais, conforme o perfil de agricultura desenvolvido em cada região. O objetivo este trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho agronômico e caracterizar por meio de alguns descritores, genótipos de milho crioulo, variedades melhoradas e comerciais para o cultivo em Couto de Magalhães de Minas-MG. O experimento foi conduzido na Fazenda Experimental Rio Manso, da UFVJM, durante a safra 2017/18. Foram estudadas seis variedades de milho crioulo, duas variedades melhoradas e duas variedades comerciais. As características avaliadas foram: tombamento, prolificidade, caracterização de espigas e grãos, bem como a produtividade de espigas e grãos. Os genótipos de milhos crioulos CR3, CR4 e CR6, oriundos de agricultores familiares locais que integram o Projeto Milho Crioulo, a variedade de população aberta Piranão e a variedade comercial UFVM 200 apresentaram produtividade de grãos satisfatória para a região.

Research suggests that mindfulness is associated with psychological health including a healthier response to stressors. This research tested associations between trait mindfulness and mental health factors related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Two studies (Study 1 N = 248 college students; Study 2 N = 300 U.S adults) assessed trait mindfulness, perceived stress and anxiety, worry about the coronavirus, and anticipated negative affect of a coronavirus diagnosis. Additionally, Study 2 assessed depressive symptoms and coping with the coronavirus. In both studies, findings indicated that individuals higher in trait mindfulness reported less stress and anxiety. Higher mindfulness in both studies was also associated with less worry about the virus and anticipating less negative affect if one gets the virus. In Study 2, trait mindfulness was negatively related to depression, and numerous associations between mindfulness and coping emerged, showing higher trait mindfulness was associated with healthier strategies in coping with coronavirus. These data are consistent with research that has revealed that those who think and act more mindfully are less stressed and anxious. By revealing these associations with mindfulness in the context of a real-world, novel stressor, this research makes an important contribution to the literature.

O objetivo do presente artigo é discutir como a resposta do Estado brasileiro à epidemia do vírus zika no campo da proteção social foi capaz de potencializar os impactos da atual pandemia da COVID-19 sobre as crianças com a síndrome congênita do vírus zika e suas famílias. Para defender essa tese, em um primeiro momento, são apresentadas as características socioeconômicas da população mais afetada pela epidemia do vírus zika. Em seguida, explica-se qual foi e quais têm sido as respostas do Estado brasileiro para evitar que essa população entre em situação de extrema vulnerabilidade e sofra com ainda mais violações de direitos. A conclusão é que as medidas adotadas até o momento são limitadas e não consideram o histórico de descaso do Estado brasileiro por trás da epidemia do vírus zika. Foram analisadas, especialmente, as Leis nº 8.742/1993 (LOAS) e nº 13.985/2020, que regulam o acesso ao BPC e à pensão especial para crianças com a síndrome congênita do zika, bem como o resultado da Ação Direta de Inconstitucionalidade (ADI) 5581. Por fim, a partir da análise comparativa dos perfis das populações mais afetadas pelas duas emergências de saúde pública, expõe-se como a população mais afetada pela epidemia do vírus zika está sendo, e pode ser ainda mais, afetada pela nova pandemia, resultando em uma situação de dupla discriminação, e o que isso representa para os direitos dessas crianças e de suas famílias.

The American healthcare payment model introduced Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) into a position of power that currently puts into question the state of the pharmacy profession, especially in the community field. Reimbursement plans had been designed to benefit all stakeholders and save patients money but have only been shown to increase costs for these involved parties. There exist unresolved gaps in care as a result of the healthcare structure and underutilized skills of trained pharmacists who do not have the federal means to provide clinical services. Four collaborative payment models have been proposed, offering methods to quell the monetary problems that exist and are predicted to continue with the closure of community pharmacies and sustained influence of PBMs. These models may additionally allow the expansion of pharmacy career paths and improve healthcare benefits for patients. With a reflective perspective on the healthcare structure and knowledge of positive impacts with the inclusion of pharmacists, solutions to payment challenges could present a progressive approach to an outdated system. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic highlights a dependency on pharmacists and community settings. This outlook on pharmacists may persist and an established expansion of services could prove beneficial to all healthcare stakeholders.

A partir de los efectos negativos de la labranza convencional en Inceptisoles de Villanueva, departamento del Casanare, Oriente de Colombia, la presente investigación evaluó el impacto de tres sistemas de labranza: T1: Labranza reducida (desbrozadora, un pase de cincel vibratorio, un pase de rastra y siembra), T2: siembra directa y T3: labranza de conservación (desbrozadora, un pase de cincel vibratorio, siembra con 30% de cobertura) sobre algunas variables físicas, químicas y biológicas del suelo, como la densidad aparente (Da), porosidad (ɲ), porcentaje de materia orgánica del suelo (%MOS) y unidades formadoras de colonias de hongos y bacterias UFCs. Se utilizó un Diseño de Bloques Completamente al Azar con tres tratamientos y cinco repeticiones para 15 unidades experimentales, evaluados en dos épocas: M1: antes de la preparación y M2: después de dos meses de siembra de maíz. Se realizó Análisis de Varianza y la Prueba de Comparación de Medias de Tukey (p≤0.05). La Da fue más alta en T1 (1,52g/cm3) en M1. Con el T3 se alcanzó una Da más baja en ambas épocas (1,27g/cm3). La porosidad fue mayor con el T3 sin diferencias entre muestreos. T2 ocasionó un mayor porcentaje de MOS en M2. T3 presentó mayores UFCs de hongos y bacterias con respecto a T1 y T2.
