They interviewed 18 women farmers and it was found that these participate in the work processes in farming systems, creations and extraction. With regard to the accompanying activities and extra income, all interviewees contribute to the monthly income of their families. Women PDS exert important collective role, to organize themselves into associations and other gender, highlighting the search for insertion in various scenarios.

<text>In a context of climate change, parks have been proven to increase the resilience of vulnerable cities as they help regulate the microclimate, mitigating the heat island effect. Under a generic premise, it could be infered that the municipalities with the highest income from population with high socioeconomic strata and high income to these government agencies through taxes favor the existence of good indicators of quality and quantity of parks. In the framework of this research, it is shown that there is no direct relationship between areas of high socioeconomic strata and high quantity and good quality of parks as public spaces. To this end, 8 parks of the district and its distribution have been evaluated, integrating the results of this evaluation with the socioeconomic levels of the district. Among the main results show that the inhabitants of Surco have a good perception of the parks of their district and that many of these spaces are used by inhabitants of the surrounding districts. There is great care of green areas, although they show deficiencies in terms of infrastructure and equipment. However, the district of Surco, despite being one of the districts with the largest number of green areas in Lima, does not meet the number of square meters per inhabitant for WHO or HABITAT. Finally, the results of quality and quantity of the selected parks and the weighting of the 131 parks as public spaces showed that both the sectors with lower and higher income present these spaces with low quality standards are below 8 m2 / inhabitants established by WHO.</text>

DYNAMICS OF FIRES IN THE BAIXADA MARANHENSE ABSTRACT Burnings occur naturally and by influence of men; both having its negative impacts maximized by the effects of climate change. In the state of Maranhão (Brazil), due to its large territorial extension and land use occupation history, there are many agricultural activities widely using the “cut” and “burn” approach to clean the land. In the light of this evidence, the aim if this paper was to analyze the burning spots dynamics in Baixada Maranhense, a rich socio-environmental area vulnerable to burnings. The burning time series data interval adopted was from 2000-2013, obtained from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE); the precipitation data from Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TOPODATA); and the altimetry data from Brazil Geomorfometric Database (TOPODATA). The results showed a spatial pattern where outbreaks of fire occurred mainly in periods with less precipitation and next to areas occupied by men. In respect to altimetry, we found that in lower altitudes (typically swamps or flooded areas) burnings were less likely to occur. Keywords: Flooded Plains; Droughts; Land and Soil Use Changes.

<text>The transition from primary to secondary school is more successful when students’ learning is consistent. Students are also more likely to enjoy school, engage with learning, and have a high academic achievement in secondary school when they feel motivated. This is a critical aspect, especially in cases in which global pandemic situations allow only online schooling opportunities. Students that are away from school lack the traditional sources of motivation and self-regulated learning skills; thus, research is needed to identify other important factors that can be developed in remote settings. The aim of this study was to find out how students perceive their experience with the transition from primary to secondary school and how such a transition influences students’ self-regulated learning (SRL) and motivation. Self-reported data were collected during the COVID-19 breakout from a total of n = 80 sixth and seventh grade students aged 12–14 years old. The results showed that students had a successful transition, especially when they were supported by their parents and teachers. Next, bivariate Pearson correlation analysis indicated that students’ perceptions about their experience with the transition from primary to secondary school, their self-regulated learning, and their motivation were significantly correlated. No gender differences were found among any of the main study variables. Teachers can foster students’ SRL skills by implementing effective teaching methods and by guiding them towards SRL-enhancing techniques.</text>
