At the same time, a number of voices advocate for a rediscovery of the rural. However naive they may sound, these claims have the merit to call for a thorough reflection on the challenges and potentials that alternative modes of urbanisation could bring along. In order to provide a contribution in this direction, the article introduces the challenges that the present sanitary emergency raises for contemporary urban environments, to then reflect on the reasons behind the progressive abandonment of remote rural areas, and especially on the increasingly scarce accessibility to services they offer to their inhabitants. The authors argue that policies dedicated to counteract these trends are needed, in order to enhance the overall resilience of our societies. Under these circumstances, the perception of the disease is going to have a relevant role in the individual’s psychological adjustment. However, at the present time there is no validated instrument for evaluating adult perception of threat from COVID-19. Considering the importance of perception or representation of the disease in a state of social alert, our study intended to validate an instrument measuring the psychological process of the disease caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19). In view of the above, this study evaluated the factor structure and reliability of the version of the Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ) for COVID-19 in a sample of adults. The sample consisted of 1014 Spanish adults (67.2% women and 32.8% men). The exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported a unidimensional model of the scale, which was the one that showed the best fit and explained 43.87% of the variance. This brief version has adequate psychometric properties and may be used to evaluate the perception of threat from COVID-19 in an adult Spanish population. The validation of this instrument contributes to progress in representation of COVID-19 in our culture. Utilizou-se como ferramenta metodológica a observação/etnografia e a realização de uma análise multitemporal dos quintais agroflorestais do reassentamento. Within the process of adaptation of the settlers, one of the characteristics that should be taken into consideration is how they interact with the environment. The use of land in a sustainable way is a historical reality in family farming, how responders agroecosystems as the quintals agroforestry is of fundamental importance in the conservation of natural resources. In this way the present work aimed to carry out a comparative analysis of the benefits generated in the maintenance of the Agroforestry backyards, as well as the environmental behavior of resettle of resettlement Mariana. It was used as a methodological tool to note/ethnography and the achievement of a multitemporal analysis of agroforestry backyards of resettlement. Observou-se um aumento da importância do extrativismo do açaí como fator gerador de renda e elevação do poder aquisitivo estimulado pelo aumento na comercialização da produção local. Neste contexto, os quintais locais se apresentam como um espaço de pluriatividade englobando a geração de renda, a produção de alimentos, em virtude da diversidade de espécies extrativistas existentes tanto para o consumo quanto para a comercialização, e de socialização dos familiares. Esta realidade tem influenciado as práticas produtivas e alimentares das famílias, e, em consequência, as decisões produtivas, econômicas e as formas de aquisição dos alimentos.
