Sin embargo, se espera que este tipo de productos tengan un efecto positivo en la economía, la calidad de vida y la seguridad alimentaria de los sectores relacionados con la producción. Objetivos: Determinar el efecto de la certificación de las fincas cafeteras en la seguridad e inocuidad alimentaria en hogares de jornaleros del Suroeste de Antioquia-Colombia. Métodos: Se seleccionaron 79 hogares de jornaleros residentes (41 en fincas certificadas y 38 en no certificadas) para un análisis comparativo. Se tomaron muestras de bebidas (sobremesas) de consumo habitual y se analizaron mediante recuento del número más probable (NMP) de coliformes totales (CT) y fecales (CF), utilizando la técnica de fluorocult LMX (Merk®, U.S.A). Se aplicó la escala latinoamericana y caribeña para la seguridad alimentaria (ELCSA) y una encuesta para evaluar la disponibilidad y acceso a los alimentos, al igual que la economía, educación, calidad de la vivienda y estado nutricional de los integrantes (por índice de masa corporal –IMC–). Las variables que mejor representaron los componentes de la seguridad alimentaria en los hogares se analizaron por MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) para buscar posibles asociaciones entre componentes y niveles de la ELCSA. Resultados: No se encontraron diferencias significativas en seguridad alimentaria en la ELCSA por tipo de finca. Las fincas certificadas presentaron una tendencia a menor contaminación por CT, menores ingresos y mayores gastos en alimentación y vivienda. El MDS mostró una asociación entre calidad aceptable de contaminación de bebidas con CT y certificación, mientras que la contaminación por CF se asoció a inseguridad leve. Conclusiones: La certificación de las fincas cafeteras no se asocia significativamente con la seguridad alimentaria de los hogares de jornaleros que laboran en dichos sitios. Por su parte, la contaminación por CF podría ser un indicador de inseguridad alimentaria leve. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Cross-sectional study (n=2 563), data derived from baseline impact evaluation of the Mexican Programa de Apoyo Alimentario. Quantitative indicators of FI were:Household food storage, maize and/or bean production, food expenditure, and spatial access to food markets. We evaluated percentage adequacy of energy (PAE) and Zinc (PAZn) intake. Multiple linear regression model was fitted to estimate the association between maternal and child PAE and PAZn. RESULTS: Child PAE and PAZn were positively associated with those of their mothers. None of the FI indicators modified the association between maternal and child PAE and PAZn. CONCLUSIONS: No evidence of maternal dietary compromise in favor of her child was observed using four quantitative indicators of FI in central-southern rural Mexican househods.OBJETIVO: Analizar indicadores cuantitativos de inseguridad alimentaria (IA) y estimar si IA modifica la asociación del consumo de energía y zinc en madres e hijos como evidencia del compromiso de la dieta materna a favor de su hijo. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Estudio transversal,información basal de la evaluación de impacto del Programa de Apoyo Alimentario. Indicadores de IA: reserva de alimentos en hogar, autoproducción maíz y/o frijol, porcentaje del gasto en alimentos y acceso físico a mercados de alimentos.Se calculó el porcentaje de adecuación del consumo energético (PAE) y Zinc (PAZn) (n=2 563 pares). Accounts for each raptor species in Torres del Paine are provided, including information on weight, habitat, diet, residence, conservation, and miscellaneous observations in the Park. We compare raptor species richness in Torres del Paine with well studied localities in central and northern Chile, and speculate on causes for the higher raptor diversity observed in the Park. Raptor macroniches in Torres del Paine are assessed, describing primarily their use of two major habitat types and nine food resources. We examine food-niche relationships for a subset of four mammal-eating raptors, in light of their different ecologies and body sizes. Schust., Heteroscyphus thraustus (Spruce) Fulf., Jubula bogotensis Steph., Drepanolejeunea spinosa Herz. y Porella leiboldii (Lehm.) Trevis. En cuanto a la distribución altitudinal, se encontró que las especies se organizan en cuatro franjas altitudinales que florísticamente están bien diferenciadas entre sí, pero cuya riqueza no se distribuye como se esperaba según trabajos anteriores. Respecto a la ecología, el sustrato en el que se halló un mayor número de hepáticas fue roca con 46, seguido por corteza con 43 y materia en descomposición con 24. Es importante resaltar que 58 de las 90 especies encontradas (el 64,44%) crecen únicamente en un sustrato. Los resultados de este estudio se presentan como un avance significativo en el conocimiento de la flora de hepáticas del piedemonte llanero, y así mismo, destacan la necesidad de conservar las áreas boscosas de esta región dado que contienen un importante número de especies que se ven favorecidas tanto por la existencia misma de los bosques, como por la topografía y la humedad ambiental. Resultados.Se obtuvieron un total de 275 registros independientes de la especie y se estimó una abundancia relativade 52.88. El patrón de actividad muestra un primer pico de actividad al comienzo de la noche (19:00) yun segundo pico en la madrugada (3:00), con una posterior disminución hacia las horas de la madrugada.Conclusiones. Los resultados muestran una abundancia relativa alta con respecto a otras localidades enColombia, además de evidenciar una población reproductivamente activa.
