La temperatura media corporal fue de 35,68±1,4ºC y f entre 32,6 y 37,8ºC. En hembras el intervalo de temperatura corporal (Tc) en sequía fue 34-38 ºC y en lluvia fluctuó entre 32- 38ºC. En machos el intervalo de temperatura corporal (Tc) en sequía fue 35-37ºC y en lluvia 34-35ºC. Mediante una regresión lineal, no se encontró relación entre la temperatura del aire (Ta) y sustrato (Ts). La tendencia termorreguladora se determinó a partir del criterio de Huey y Slatkin, variando de acuerdo a los períodos climáticos, indicando termorregulación activa (-0,019) en sequía y termorregulación pasiva (0,189) en lluvia. Dividiendo la actividad horaria en tres segmentos: matutino, central y vespertino, el patrón de actividad fue bimodal en sequía y unimodal en lluvia. Para relacionar el patrón de actividad con las variables ambientales (aire y sustrato) se utilizó la correlación de Pearson, en sequia se obtuvo una correlación negativa con la temperatura del aire (-0,78) y con el sustrato (-0,65). En lluvia no se relacionó con la temperatura del aire (-0,056) ni con el sustrato (-0,04). La amplitud del nicho térmico se calculó empleando el índice de Levins, no observándose diferencias apreciables entre machos y hembras en ambos períodos y la sobreposición de nicho térmico entre sexos, obtenido mediante el índice de Pianka, fue 0,81 en lluvia y 0,90 en sequía. Scatena Description An account of the resource This paper highlights the importance of islands for proposing and testing hypotheses in stream ecology, and therefore, advocates for implementing reference studies in Gorgona Island (Colombian Pacific). It firstly summarizes past ecological studies in streams in Gorgona Island and outlines a series of papers resulting from a recent survey. These papers report that Gorgona Island exhibits a maritime climate, a tropical rainforest cover, and a basaltic and intrusive lithology, all typical features of islands elsewhere. They also describe that despite of the insular effect on stream biota, the proximity (< 50 km) of the island to the Pacific coast of Colombia facilitated dispersal of many faunal and floristic components from the continent, thus providing a unique opportunity for studying coastal streams in the Biogeographic Chocó. Finally, the status of Gorgona Island as a natural park established in 1984, and a relatively well known history of land uses, may further contribute to support search programs with long-term and large-scale goals.Este artículo resalta la importancia de las islas para proponer y someter a prueba hipótesis en ecología lótica y, por lo tanto, aboga por la implementación de estudios de referencia en la Isla Gorgona (Pacífico colombiano). Primero se resumen los estudios pasados realizados en las quebradas de la isla y se bosquejan los artículos que hacen parte de éste número especial, que son el resultado de una expedición reciente. Estos artículos informan que la Isla Gorgona posee un clima marítimo, una cobertura de bosque lluvioso tropical y una litología basáltica e intrusiva, características que también son típicas de otras islas. Materiales y métodos: estudio observacional analítico de corte transversal con 49 niños expuestos y 35 no expuestos. Se realizó evaluación de ingesta mediante recordatorios de 24 horas. Resultados: se encontró baja inclusión del complemento, sin diferencias entre expuestos (32,5%) y no expuestos (22,9%) (p=0,462). Tampoco se hallaron diferencias en el consumo general de alimentos, energía y nutrientes (2.177 kcal/d expuestos, 2.037 kcal/d no expuestos, p=0,627). 60,2 g/d de proteína expuestos, 60,7 g/d no expuestos, p=0,640). La distribución de macronutrientes fue balanceada para ambos grupos, sin embargo el aporte de carbohidratos simples (15,5% expuestos y 12,7% no expuestos p=0,264) y ácidos grasos saturados (12,8% expuestos y 12,9% no expuestos p=0,608) superaron las recomendaciones. El complemento MANA Infantil no logró aportar los micronutrientes programados. Conclusiones: la baja ingesta del complemento MANA, entre los niños evaluados, limitó el cumplimiento de los objetivos nutricionales propuestos por el Programa. Las provincias que tienen mayor número son La Habana, Pinar del Río y Artemisa y las de menores números son Cienfuegos y Granma (2). Los recolectores que han aportado más ejemplares son Luis V. Moreno (66), Julio Novo (46), Miguel L. Jaume (32) y Orlando H. Garrido (21). La etapa en que ha habido mayor número de capturas es la de 1970 a 1989 (119) y la de menor, entre el año 2000 y el presente (21). As coletas foram padronizadas em todos os riachos. Os conteúdos estomacais foram analisados qualitativa e quantitativamente. Verificou-se que a dieta de B. iheringii nos quatro riachos consistiu de itens alimentares que variaram em número, e os de maior importância foram: restos vegetais e detrito, no Cambé; detrito, no Taquari; algas filamentosas e restos vegetais, no Água da Floresta; detrito e restos de insetos, no Baroré. O comportamento de mudar de estratégia, de generalista para especialista, e de utilizar o item detrito, que é capturado apenas no fundo, como principal alimento, podem ser indicadores que trechos de riachos com águas mais lentas e profundas não são preferenciais para B. iheringii, como também não são para alguns grupos de insetos aquáticos que servem como seu alimentoIndividuals of Bryconamericus iheringii (Boulenger, 1887), collected in the streams of Cambé, Taquari, Água da Floresta and Baroré, which belong to the Tibagi river basin (Parana Sate, Brazil), were analyzed for the purpose of diet study. The collection procedures were standardized in every stream. The stomach contents of the individuals were analyzed qualitative and quantitatively. The food items consumed by the species varied in number, and the main food item consumed differed in each stream. Thus, it was found: vegetable remains and debris, in Cambé; debris, in Taquari; filamentous algae and vegetable remains, in the Água da Floresta; and debris and remains of insects, in Baroré stream. Caso del sistema pastoral del agdal Creator An entity primarily responsible for making the resource Pablo Dominguez Description An account of the resource En mi presentación subrayaré la importancia de las instituciones religiosas tradicionales del territorio de montaña del Yagur en la conservación de los actuales ecosistemas sub-alpinos. Las instituciones religiosas tradicionales apoyan al sistema agdal, que consiste en la prohibición de acceder a los pastos de alta montaña durante tres ó cuatro meses en primavera y que, según numerosos autores, resulta beneficiosa ecológicamente. La hipótesis principal que subyace es que para entender el concepto del agdal y sus impactos en la protección del medio sub- alpino, los sistemas bio-ecológico, tecnológico, jurídico y económico sobre el que reposa el agdal no puede ser amputado de su dimensión simbólica y religiosa, siempre en perpetua transformación. La pregunta concreta que intentaré responder en mi presentación es si la creencia en los santos del Alto Atlas, además de ser un elemento de construcción de la cosmología local, es también un elemento relevante de la economía y ecología del Yagur. Las observaciones de campo que describiré a continuación, sugieren que el cambio acaecido en las instituciones religiosas tradicionales de los santos del Atlas es causa y efecto indisociable de la manera en que son gestionados estos pastos, y que dicho sistema simbólico es parte relevante de la economía y ecología locales.
