The aim of this work was the use of Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus sajor-caju for the previous lignocellulolytic decomposition of banana tree leaf straw and the further use of the degraded straw as substrate for the culture of Agaricus blazei. For optimising the production of A. blazei in terms of yield (Y%) and biological efficiency (BE%), adjustments to the composition of the substrate were evaluated in a 2(5) experimental design. The following components were tested in relation to % of substrate dry mass: urea (1 and 10%), rice bran (10 or 20%) or ammonium sulphate (0 or 10%), inoculum (10 or 20%) and the casing material (subsoil or burned rice husks). The best results (79.71 Y% and 6.73 BE%) were found when the substrate containing 10% of rice bran, without ammonium sulphate, inoculated with 20% and covered with subsoil was used.O cultivo de fungos comestíveis e medicinais utilizando resíduos da agroindústria vem se apresentando como uma alternativa econômica para o pequeno produtor rural, favorecendo a agricultura familiar do nordeste catarinense. Este trabalho avaliou o fungo Pleurotus para a decomposição lignocelulolítica de palha de folhas de bananeira e a utilização da palha residual como substrato para o cultivo de Agaricus blazei. Ajustes na composição do substrato residual de Pleurotus, tais como o tipo e a concentração da fonte de nitrogênio, a porcentagem de inóculo e a camada de cobertura, foram avaliadas. O substrato residual que mais favoreceu a produção de A. blazei em Eficiência Biológica (6,73%), Rendimento (79,71%) e menor tempo para emissão do primeiro primórdio (27 dias) foi o substrato residual de P. ostreatus inoculado com 20% de inóculo (ms), 10% de farelo de arroz (ms), sem sulfato de amônio e utilizando terra de subsolo como camada de cobertura.

El libro Los Ángeles – la arquitectura de cuatro ecologías, del autor Reyner Banham (1922-1988) publicado en 1971 ha sido, desde su primera edición, obyecto de mucha controversia. Algunos lo ven como un texto seminal, con mucha ascendencia sobre los arquitectos que se han dedicado al análisis de otras realidades urbanas desde esa década. Sin embargo, su fortuna crítica también incluye severas críticas académicas, y no rara vez, devastadoras. Las disputas emprendidas en ese momento, sobre el inevitable examen de los dogmas del Movimiento Moderno, están presentes en el libro de forma reflexiva, valiente, y, a veces provocativa. No obstante, después de cuatro décadas, es interesante mirar detenidamente el libro para apreciar sus tesis a partir del desarrollo de las metrópolis contemporáneas, que probablemente serían nombradas por el autor como las metrópolis capitalistas de la cuarta edad de la máquina. El artículo trata también de destacar la fuerza y la legitimidad de la innovación metodológica que el autor ha forjado para articular su tesis y su objeto – el gran Los Ángeles.

Buscando o aumento da produtividade do feijoeiro, várias pesquisas com reguladores de crescimento e hormônios, associados a nutrientes que objetivam acelerar o desenvolvimento das plantas vêm sendo realizadas. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da aplicação do regulador de crescimento Kelpak nas doses de 100, 200 e 250 ml ha-1 via semente e 750, 1000 e 2000 ml ha-1 via foliar aos 15 e 30 DAE e em pré-florada na produtividade do feijoeiro e sua eficiência em comparação à aplicação do produto considerado padrão (Stimulate). O experimento foi conduzido na Fazenda Capim Branco, no município de Uberlândia, MG. A aplicação de Kelpak aumentou significativamente a produção do feijoeiro quando aplicado via semente na dose de 200 ml ha-1. A aplicação do bioestimulante em duas vias (via semente e via foliar) resultou em maior produtividade em relação à aplicação isolada, ou seja, apenas via semente ou via foliar.

This research was conducted in the settlement “Facão Bom Jardim”, in the city of Cáceres - Mato Grosso , with the group of women “Natureza Viva” which develops activities such as agro-ecological farming, production of chestnut derivatives, crafts and plant sponges. This work emphasizes the visibility of women's work at the settlement and relates the struggle of women who over the years aims their financial, social and political independence. It occurred in four steps. At first, literature searches were made in different libraries, on the issue of gender, social organization and economic solidarity. At second, three models of questionnaires were drawn up and delivered to members of the group 'Natureza Viva', also to the family members and people who are not related to the group, such as residents of neighboring settlements. At the third step, visits were made getting to know the daily living in the community, especially about women in the group. In addition, questionnaires were applied by home visits. At the fourth stage, a dynamic group called 'Web of Life' was performed, so it was possible to get better understanding about the group, as well as the role of each woman within it. It was noticed that the group emerged as a kind of struggle for social space and is composed of women from different parts of the country. Despite the difficulties, these women have achieved significant improvements for the community and for themselves. The group is very important because it contributes to the improvement of women´s self-esteem, for the sharing of experiences, allowing the realization of exchange, dissemination of the activities and also generating an income through the sale of products to CONAB. Therefore, the project developed in the settlement “Facão Bom Jardim” is recognized by its participants and has visibility. This indicates the possibility of women's work involving agro ecological practice being valued and promoting an increase in household income also in other communities.

Globally, informed decision on the most effective set of restrictions for the containment of COVID-19 has been the subject of intense debates. There is a significant need for a structured dynamic framework to model and evaluate different intervention scenarios and how they perform under different national characteristics and constraints. This work proposes a novel optimal decision support framework capable of incorporating different interventions to minimize the impact of widely spread respiratory infectious pandemics, including the recent COVID-19, by taking into account the pandemic's characteristics, the healthcare system parameters, and the socio-economic aspects of the community. The theoretical framework underpinning this work involves the use of a reinforcement learning-based agent to derive constrained optimal policies for tuning a closed-loop control model of the disease transmission dynamics.

Abstract: the work presents reflective elements on the changes of the space in the green areas of the city of Nampula due to the trade. He argues that urban green areas built for ecological, aesthetic and even psychic functions, socially produced, become places of exacerbated consumption and, at the same time, the medium of formal and informal commerce. The objective is to analyze the (re) production of the space of the urban green areas in Nampula city, as well as the practice of informal commerce, in order to perceive its spatial dynamics. In order to do so, an analysis was carried out from a review of the bibliography in order to understand the conceptual meaning and later, to analyze the trade dynamics practiced in these areas, the spatiality that it reproduces. The results indicate that the green areas of the city have turned into places of practice of formal commerce carried out in stalls and fixed stalls subject to the payment of taxes and the informal practice practiced by mobile strollers who evade taxes. A Reprodução do Espaço nas Áreas Verdes Urbanas na Cidade de Nampula, Moçambique Resumo: o trabalho apresenta elementos reflexivos sobre as alterações do espaço nas áreas verdes da cidade de Nampula em função do comércio. Argumenta como as áreas verdes urbanas construídas para funções ecológicas, estéticas e até psíquicas, socialmente produzidas passam a ser locais de consumo exacerbado e ao mesmo tempo o meio onde se realiza o comércio formal e informal. O objetivo é analisar a (re) produção do espaço das áreas verdes urbana da cidade de Nampula, bem como a prática comércio informal, de modo a perceber a sua dinâmica espacial. Para tanto, realizou-se uma análise a partir de revisão da bibliografia de modo a compreender a acepção conceitual e a posterior, analisar a dinâmica do comércio praticado nestas áreas e a espacialidade que ela reproduz. Os resultados indicam que as áreas verdes da cidade, transformaram-se em locais de prática de comércio formal realizado em bancas e barracas fixas sujeita ao pagamento de impostos e o informal praticado pelos vendedores ambulantes de bancas móveis que se evadem dos impostos. La Reproducción del Espacio en las Areas Verdes Urbanas de la Ciudad de Nampula, Mozambique Resumen: los elementos reflejados en las alteraciones de las espaciosas áreas verdes de la ciudad de Nampula son analizadas en este trabajo, en función de la actividad comercial desarrollada en estas. Argumentando como estas áreas verdes urbanas construidas con finalidades ecológicas, estéticas e incluso psicológicas para la sociedad, se convierten en locales de consumo exacerbado y al mismo tiempo, en el medio en donde se realizan actividades de comercio informal pero de naturaleza formal. El objetivo es analizar la (re) producción del espacio de las áreas verdes urbanas de la ciudad de Nampula, así como la práctica comercio informal, como para percibir su dinámica espacial. Realizando un análisis a partir de revisiones bibliográficas, para comprender el significado conceptual, y posteriormente analizar la dinámica comercial practicada en estas áreas, partiendo de cómo se da esta espacialidad. Los resultados indican, que las áreas verdes de la ciudad, se transformaron en locales en donde se desarrolla el comercio, siendo practicado en puesto fijos sujetos al pago de obligaciones fiscales el formales y el informal, ejercida por vendedores ambulantes de quioscos que se evitan de los impuestos.

Resumo: O potencial de inserção comercial de agricultores familiares em canais curtos de comercialização tem sido explorado por importantes estudos qualitativos. Este trabalho apresenta contribuições adicionais a esses esforços ao quantificar a participação de agricultores familiares nas feiras municipais. Verifica-se em que medida as feiras representam alternativas à inserção comercial ao proporcionar: (a) inclusão socioprodutiva dos agricultores familiares; (b) fortalecimento de canais curtos de comercialização; e (c) alternativa ao sistema agroalimentar industrial. A partir de dados quantitativos de 59 feiras, amostradas de um universo de 369 no estado de Goiás, detectou-se que 42,37% das feiras oferecem oportunidades de inclusão comercial aos agricultores familiares, 32,20% fortalecem canais curtos de comercialização e 35,59% funcionam como alternativa ao sistema agroalimentar industrial. Do total, 10,17% das feiras atendem aos três critérios supracitados concomitantemente. As regressões estatísticas revelam que: (1) quanto menor a porcentagem de atravessadores e maior a de agricultores ligados a organizações, maior é a possibilidade de a feira ter mais bancas da agricultura familiar; (2) quanto maior a relevância da feira como espaço de articulação entre agentes e para a catalisação de novos negócios entre agricultores, maior a possibilidade desse canal exercer influência na criação ou no fortalecimento de políticas públicas.

La situación en la fruticultura orgánica de Mesoamérica no es fácil a cualificar y cuantificar. Indudablemente existen áreas certificadas sin embargo faltan datos exactos. En otra manera muchos campesinos cultivan frutas y vegetales sin el uso de fertilizantes inorgánicos y sin aplicaciones de pesticidazas por falta de insumos propios. Este estudio esta basado en ejemplos y practicas conocidas y trata a reflejar filosofías practicas del campesinado y las fortalezas y debilidades correspondientes. De lo mas énfasis se ha dedicado al chayote en Costa Rica y México, a la pitahaya en Nicaragua, a la papaya en el Estado Tabasco y al mango, rambutan y caña de azúcar en el estado Chiapas, México, y a las huertas familiares en Cuba. El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo conocer la densidad, abundancia y diversidad de especies de hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) asociadas al cultivo de maíz (Zea mays L.) en parcelas que han sido manejadas con bajos ingresos de insumos externos y evaluar su respuesta a la aplicación de abono verde/cultivo de cobertura (AVCC) y biofertilizantes. El trabajo se realizó en siete parcelas de productores de maíz, de las cuales tres han sido manejadas con frijol nescafé (Mucuna deeringiana Merr.) como AVCC y cuatro sin dicho antecedente de manejo. En cada una de las parcelas se establecieron cuatro tratamientos de biofertilización: 1) inoculación con micorriza arbuscular, 2) aplicación de fertilizante orgánico foliar, 3) inoculación con micorriza + fertilizante orgánico foliar, y 4) testigo, los cuales se ordenaron bajo un diseño de bloques completos al azar con siete repeticiones. En total se identificaron 23 morfoespecies, de las cuales 14 se llevaron a nivel de especie, siendo Glomus y Acaulospora los géneros predominantes. El número de especies con AVCC superó en 50% al obtenido sin AVCC. En las parcelas con AVCC se encontró el 91,3% de morfoespecies de HMA, mientras que en las parcelas sin AVCC el 60,9%. El porcentaje de colonización micorrízica no varió significativamente (p=0,7630) entre parcelas con y sin AVCC, sin embargo el nivel de colonización fue más alto con inoculación de micorrizas (86,6%) que en el testigo (71%). Se concluye que el AVCC y la inoculación con micorrizas tuvieron un efecto positivo en la diversidad de especies de HMA y en la colonización de la raíz, respectivamente.The present work was conducted with the objective of know the density, abundance and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) associated with maize (Zea mays L.) in plots that have been managed with low incomes of external inputs green manure/cover crop (AVCC) and biofertilizers. The work was conducted in seven farmer plots with maize crop, of which three have been managed with nescafe bean (Mucuna deeringiana Merr.) as AVCC and four without such antecedent of managing. In each plot were established four treatments of biofertilization: 1) inoculation with AMF, 2) foliar application of organic fertilizer, 3) mycorrhizal inoculation with foliar organic fertilizer, and 4) control, which were ordered under a randomized complete block design with seven replications. In total we identified 23 morphospecies, 14 of which were carried at level of species, being Glomus and Acaulospora the dominant genera. The number of species in plots with AVCC was 50% higher than without AVCC. In the plots with AVCC was found 91.3% of morphospecies of AMF, while in plots without AVCC the 60.9%. The percentage of mycorrhizal colonization was not significantly different (p=0.7630) between plots with and without AVCC, but the colonization level was higher with mycorrhizal inoculation (86.6%) that in the control (71%). We conclude that AVCC and inoculation with mycorrhizae had a positive effect on species diversity of AMF and root colonization, respectively.

En la cuenca mediterránea, la mayoría de las plantas carnívoras pertenecientes al género Pinguicula habitan las paredes húmedas de montañas calizas. Estos escenarios rocosos condicionan la ecología de las poblaciones situadas en distintos exposiciones (solana versus umbría). Las diferencias temporales en la floración entre plantas que crecen en distintos microhábitats, unido a las diferencias espaciales en la distribución y abundancia de las especies de polinizadores, provocan barreras al flujo genico vía polen entre microhábitats soleados y umbríos. Estos mecanismos ecológicos pueden actuar sinérgicamente con otros factores que limitan el flujo génico, como distancia geográfica y la compleja orografía de las montañas, favoreciendo la diferenciación local. Las poblaciones de Pinguicula vallisneriifolia muestran también diferentes abundancias y estructuras demográficas dependiendo del microhábitat donde crecen las plantas. El carácter perenne y la reproducción asexual de esta planta le permite ralentizar la extinción poblacional, incluso en ausencia de reclutamiento via plántula en los lugares secos y soleados. Sin embargo, con la actual tendencia hacia una mayor aridez, los escasos micrositios adecuados para la germinación y establecimiento de plántulas se desplazan hacia los sectores de las paredes más umbríos y húmedos, pero donde el desarrollo reproductivo está limitado por la escasez de luz. Para la conservación de esta planta carnívora hay que llevar a cabo medidas de manejo para mantener un número mínimo de nichos de regeneración efectivos. La conservación de P. vallisneriifolia pasa por mantener la riqueza de escenarios ecológicos (i.e., mantener poblaciones de sol versus de sombra), como parte de la variabilidad total a conservar, no solo geográfica, sino también de escenario microclimáticoMost carnivorous plants belonging to the Pinguicula genus inhabit mountains in the Mediterranean basin. Pinguicula vallisneriifolia inhabits wet limestone rock walls and cliffs, being able to reproduce by seeds and asexually (by stolons and axillary buds). The complex orography of Mediterranean mountains favors sunny (hot and dry) and shady (cool and wet) contrasting expositions. Along the sun-shade gradient, there were variations in plant flowering phenology, as well as in animal species that interacted with the plants (prey, pollinators and kleptoparasites), even at a very restricted spatial scale. The ecological consequence is that the marked spatial variability in abiotic conditions results in a site-specific mosaic of plant-animal interactions, and hence of selective pressures of animals upon plants. Plant populations have also different demographic structures depending on the microhabitat (sunny, dry versus wet, shady). As a result, different demographic patterns appear on different localities or different habitats within the same locality: populations living in moist, shady patches show high proportions of seedlings as plants reproduce both sexually and asexually, resulting in viable populations. On the contrary, plants living in dry, sunny rocky substrates, despite sexual and asexual reproduction, have no seedling recruitment because of wet microsite limitation. These populations are, therefore, dominated by vegetative individuals. Practical guiadance are provided in order to preserve these microclimatically structured populations
