<text>The general objective of this work was to evaluate the response of the American Lettuce to its development, using different types of organic fertilizers. Specifically, the objective was to outline the potential market for this type of food with agroecological production, with emphasis on small producers of family agriculture and to seek alternatives for legal marketing of organic products through family farming, based on Law 10.831/2003. Data collection on lettuce response to fertilization was completely randomized, with five treatments and four repetitions. It is a descriptive, exploratory research. Through a bibliographical survey, it was concluded that the insertion in the system of agroecological-organic production is opportune to establish competitiveness in family farming, in the primary productive sector of the production chain of olericulture, where the American Lettuce is among the main cultivated varieties. It was observed that the fertilization with manure of hardened chicken showed a higher development of lettuce in relation to other treatments. The consumer market confirms a demand for healthy food with the focus on vegetables. For legal marketing, organic food needs to get a special seal. Brazilian legislation establishes three guarantee instruments: third-party certification, participatory guarantee systems and social control for direct sale without certification. This last recommended for family farmers.</text>

<text>Aquaponics is a food culture system that involves the integration of hydroponics and aquaculture with recirculation of water and nutrients. Due to its sustainable characteristics, it presents alternatives for the production of animal protein and olerícolas in an integrated way, less impacting the ecosystem. For the development of this essay, a methodological structure of an applied nature and of a scientific character with a qualitative-quantitative approach was adopted, it is a descriptive and experimental research. The data were collected through field research in triangulation with the bibliographic reference. Taking into account the sustainability and practicality of the aquaponic system, the purpose of this work was to survey the cost for the small-scale implementation of the system for family agriculture and peri-urban areas, as well as to present the step-by-step driving the system. The practical experiment consisted of 27 kilos of fish fed with ration referring to 2% of its live weight, the residues nourished 144 seedlings of the Crespa Lettuce. The aquaponic system for family and peri-urban agriculture tends to be a sustainable alternative, presenting low implantation costs, the practicality of management and healthier production due to the organic nutrition of the plants and the non-use of chemicals in the system.</text>

<text>Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by infection of SARS-CoV-2 as of April 2020 has been confirmed  in more than 2.3 million people, with more than 150 thousands deaths across the globe. It has been known that COVID-19 patients with underlying cardiovascular diseases and its risks including: hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, and cerebrovascular diseases may develop more severe respiratory track symptoms requiring intensive care. Some patients may presenting with myocarditis or acute cardiomyopathy, which has high mortality and morbidity. There was also evidence of myocardial Injury with an increase of troponin in one-third of those infected by covid-19.  It is conceivable that among those who recover from COVID-19 infection, there is a risk of developing further cardiomypathy once the pandemic receding in the future. It is important to pay attention to this survivor group since the pandemic may be lasting for longer period. Optimal medical treatment and comprehensive prevention should be taken to manage those high risk patients of developing cardiomyopathy during hospital care as well post discharge. These includes provide best available COVID-19 drugs, cardiovascular medications, and social preventive measures.</text>

Sample stabilization time variations (30 and 60 minutes) were assessed as well the addition of NaCl to the samples. It was verified that the chromatogram with the most adsorbed volatile compounds was obtained with PDMS/DVB microfiber at 30 minutes and the addition of 0.2 g NaCl.Diante do interesse de analisar substâncias voláteis pelo método de Microextração em Fase Sólida (MEFS), foram testadas cinco microfibras de polidimetilsiloxano - PDMS; poliacrilato - PA; polidimetilsiloxano/divinilbenzeno - PDMS/DVB; carboxen/polidimetilsiloxano CAR/PMDS e carbowax/divinilbenzeno - CW/DVB no presente trabalho, a fim de selecionar a microfibra de melhor desempenho para a adsorção das substâncias voláteis presentes no headspace das amostras de suco de lima ácida (Citrus latifolia, Tanaka) cv.

Canine distemper virus (CDV), parvovirus (CPV), adenovirus (CAV) and coronavirus (CCoV) infections have been associated with significant morbidity and mortality among dogs worldwide yet very little is known about these infections in Brazil. As to determine the prevalence of these infections in the canine population of Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, 817 blood samples were collected from non-vaccinated dogs of 14 neighborhoods and tested for specific antibodies. Antibodies to CDV were detected in 27.3% (223/817) of the samples, to CPV in 68.7% (561/817), to CAV in 43% (353/817) and to CCoV in 50.4% (412/817) of the dogs. An increase in seropositivity related to age was observed for CDV, CAV e CCoV. The seropositivity to CPV, CAV and CCoV was higher in males, while no differences between genders were observed to CDV. Higher prevalences to CDV and CCoV were observed among dogs having contact with other house or street dogs, while no differences in seropositivity were observed for CPV and CAV. These results indicate that these infections are spread out among dogs in Santa Maria. Nonetheless, a significant part of the population is still seronegative and therefore unprotected against these viruses. This indicates a need for extending the vaccination against to these viral infections.</text>
