Climate change has implications beyond the water resources sector, such as effects on agriculture and fisheries. Hence, such studies are becoming increasingly important. This study uses both historical data acquired in the field and future climate forecasts from General Circulation Model Hadley Centre Coupled Model, version 3 GCM HadCM3. These data are further downscaled using third generation of the Hadley Centre's regional climate model (HadRM3), with Providing REgional Climates for Impacts Studies (PRECIS) software under the three Quantifying Uncertainties in Model Projections (QUMPs). A horizontal resolution of 25 km X 25 km is used by the Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation Research, Anna University Chennai, for the state of Tamil Nadu. These downscaled data are used to study runoff changes due to climate change for the Kosasthaliyar sub-basin in South India. A trend analysis of the hydro-meteorological data for the sub-basin indicates that future rainfall is expected to decrease by approximately 10%, while the mean temperatures will increase by the year 2100. The runoff changes from 2011 to 2040 do not differ from those of the historical period of 1971 to 2000. This study is one of the first attempts to provide information on climate variability and its impacts on runoff in the Kosasthaliyar sub-basin.   Resumen La investigación del efecto variabilidad climática/cambio climático en el modelo pluviosidad/escorrentía es limitada en regiones tropicales húmedas, donde el cambio climático tiene implicaciones tanto en los recursos acuíferos, como en la agricultura y la pesca. Por lo tanto este tipo de estudios han incrementado su importancia. Este estudio utiliza tanto los datos adquiridos en este campo como las predicciones climáticas del Modelo General de Circulación de la Célula de Hadley, en su versión 3GCM HadCM3. Estos datos fueron reducidos luego al utilizar la tercera generación del modelo climático regional del Centro Hadley (HadRM3), con el programa de Estipulación de Climas Regionales para Estudios de Impacto (PRECIS, en inglés), bajo los tres modelos de Cuantificación de la Incertidumbre en Proyecciones (QUMPs, en inglés). El Centro para el Cambio Climático y la Investigación de Adaptación de la Universidad Anna, de Chennai, en el estado Tamil Nadu, utiliza una escala horizontal de 25 kilómetros por 25 kilómetros. Esta reducción de datos se utiliza para estudiar los cambios de escorrentía por el cambio climático en la subcuenca de Kosasthaliyar, al sur de la India. Un análisis de tendencia de los datos hidrometeorológicos en la subcuenca indica que en el futuro la pluviosidad caerá en un 10 %, mientras que la temperatura media se incrementará para el año 2100. Los cambios de escorrentía para el período 2011-2040 no difieren de los del período 1971-2000. Este estudio es uno de los primeros acercamientos para proveer información sobre la variabilidad climática y sus impactos en la escorrentía de la subcuenca de Khosastaliyar. Para la presentación y análisis de resultados se categorizó, trianguló y teorizó la información obtenida. Se realizó un diagnostico detallado, del cual se diseñó la propuesta denominada “Estrategias para la ecología profunda y transdisciplinaria para la preservación de los ambientes educativos”. Posteriormente se ejecutó la propuesta, en donde las actividades fueron catalogadas como importantes para brindar ambientes escolares agradables a la comunidad educativa. El presente trabajo busca reconstruir todas las señales térmicas locales que faltan en el periodo completo 1948-2011 a partir del reanálisis NCEP/NCAR en dicho periodo. Ello ha permitido detectar patrones locales de cambio climático que han sido consistentes a lo largo del espacio y tiempo. Se empleó el diseño Bloques Completos al Azar con cinco tratamientos y tres repeticiones, totalizando 15 unidades experimentales de 6 plantas cada una, evaluándose las 4 plantas centrales. Los tratamientos fueron: T0 (sin aplicación), T1 (Fertimar 1 kg.ha-1), T2 (Fertimar 1.5 kg.ha-1), T3 (Stimplex-G 3 L.ha-1) y T4 (Stimplex-G 5 L.ha-1). Las evaluaciones se realizaron hasta la sexta cosecha de frutos con madurez comercial. Los productos bioestimulantes con microelementos aplicados al cultivo de maracuyá tuvieron efecto significativo sobre el volumen de jugo en frutos de maracuyá. El mejor tratamiento fue el T3 (3 L.ha-1 de Stimplex-G ), que permitió obtener un rendimiento de 8 114,86 kg.ha-1 de fruta de maracuyá en las seis primeras cosechas; el mismo efecto se produjo para el número de frutos por planta con un valor de 46 frutos. El Tratamiento de más alta rentabilidad económica fue el T3 (3 L.ha-1 de Stimplex – G), con una relación beneficio/costo de 0,61. En este mismo sentido, la hipsometría de la cuenca es también relevante debido a que determina cuánto porcentaje de área pluvial adicional se tendrá como resultado de pequeñas variaciones de la HLN. En este estudio se analizan los efectos de considerar diferentes combinaciones de elevación de línea de nieves y precipitación, de distinta probabilidad de excedencia, en las crecidas de origen pluvial de 1 000 y 10 000 años de periodo de retorno (T), en una cuenca cordillerana chilena de régimen nival. Se comparan los resultados obtenidos con estudios previos, donde el área pluvial aportante era considerada constante, encontrando una importante dispersión que alcanza variaciones de hasta un 20% respecto a la media del caudal máximo en crecidas de T = 1 000 años, sugiriendo que se incorporen a futuro estas combinaciones para el diseño de grandes obras hidráulicas en cuencas de régimen hidrológico similar. Se examinan además los posibles efectos del cambio climático bajo los escenarios futuros A2 y B1 (2045-2065) en las magnitudes de estas crecidas. En la zona en estudio, en términos de precipitación diaria, se proyecta un incremento de las magnitudes para el evento de T = 1 000 años de hasta un 70% promedio en el escenario B1, y un aumento promedio en la temperatura de +1.8 °C y +1.3 °C en los escenarios A2 y B1, respectivamente. Esto conduciría a incrementos del caudal máximo y del volumen de escorrentía directa de hasta 72 y 84%, respectivamente, para el periodo 2045-2065, variaciones que podrían escapar de un intervalo de confianza de crecidas extremas estimadas en el periodo histórico y dejar al embalse situado a la salida de la cuenca analizada, vulnerable frente a inundaciones en los escenarios de cambio climático.
