O maior número de espécies (11) e indivíduos (60,1%) ocorreu na estação chuvosa. Na RFI foram obtidos 295 espécimes, o esforço de captura foi 0,2 indivíduos/hora/armadilha, com o predomínio de L. flaviscutellata (58,6%), L. sordelli (14,6%), L. longipalpis (7,1%), L. evandroi (6,4%), L. longipennis (3%), L. trinidadensis (2,7%) e L. whitmani (1,7%). As espécies foram mais numerosas na estiagem (11) e os espécimes durante a estação chuvosa (54,6%).This study deals with the diversity, relative abundance and seasonality of sandflies species in two modified primary forest fragments, situated at São Luís city, capital of the state of Maranhão. The sandflies were captured with the use of light traps, CDC (Center Control Disease) type, installed at the edge and in the center of the forest, at the height of 1.5 meter, being there from 6 p.m. up to 6 a.m., once per month, during a year time. An amount of 1,356 specimens from 23 species, which 21 belonged to genera Lutzomyia and two belonged to genera Brumptomyia, were captured. In the Sacavém forest reserve, 1,061 specimens were captured, resulting in a capture effort of 2.5 individuals/hour/trap, most of them L. longipalpis (44.8%), followed by L. antunesi (36.4%), L. sordelli (5.9%), L. flaviscutellata (3.9%) and L. whitmani (2.1%). In Slovakia, this pay gap has been, in the long term, one of the highest in the European union. Slovak women earn about 22 % less than men in average, which results in them being more threatened by poverty as well as achieving lower pensions. Sectors of labor market, where women predominate, are considered to be less prestigious and are associated with lower wages, the education sector is undoubtedly one of them. Career progress of women is made even more difficult by gender stereotypes and career breaks due to maternity and they are also more burdened with household care and childcare.  Using the secondary analysis of data from the sample survey this paper analyzes the position of women in the labor market and the factors influencing the gender pay gap are examined by regression analysis. The decisive period of the analysis is considered to be the period March - May 2020, when a state locked down was declared in Slovakia in connection with the COVID 19 pandemic, which undoubtedly manifested itself in all sectors of the Slovak economy. The results show, that the gender pay gap is affected by the number of hours worked and education. However, it has also been shown, that the difference in education does not explain the gender pay gap since the gap is bigger between men and women with higher education than it is between men and women with secondary education. In preparation, we used clinical pathway models to estimate healthcare requirements for COVID-19 patients in the context of broader public health measures in Australia. An age- and risk-stratified transmission model of COVID-19 demonstrated that an unmitigated epidemic would dramatically exceed the capacity of the health system of Australia over a prolonged period. Case isolation and contact quarantine alone are insufficient to constrain healthcare needs within feasible levels of expansion of health sector capacity. Just as other pandemics in the past (e.g., SARS, Spanish influenza, etc.) have had negative economic effects on countries, the current COVID-19 pandemic is causing the beginning of another economic crisis where countries need to take measures to mitigate the economic effects. In our analysis, we focus on the impact of selected indicators on the GDP of European countries using a linear panel regression to identify significant indicators to set appropriate policies to eliminate potential negative consequences on economic growth due to the current recession. The European countries are divided into four groups according to the measures they took in the fiscal consolidation of the last economic crisis of 2008. In the analysis, we observed how the economic crisis influences GDP, country indebtedness, deficit, tax collection, interest rates, and the consumer confidence index. Our findings include that corporate income tax recorded the biggest decline among other tax collections. The interest rate grew in the group of countries most at risk from the economic crisis, while the interest rate fell in the group of countries that seemed to be safe for investors. The consumer confidence index can be considered interesting, as it fell sharply in the group of countries affected only minimally by the crisis (Switzerland, Finland). However, as COVID-19 is highly contagious, its existence has made the tracheostomy a high-risk procedure. Tracheostomy procedures must, therefore, be adjusted for safety reasons. The aim is to present the adjustments that should be made to the surgical technique. Both the medical charts and surgical reports of patients with COVID-19 who were subjected to elective open tracheostomies were reviewed. The retrospective study included 25 patients. Our adjustments include the timing of tracheostomies, ideally putting them at 21 days after the onset of COVID-19, the advancement of an endotracheal tube to 26-28 cm from the upper-alveolar ridge, surgery being carried out in the intensive care unit with appropriately modified positions of the patient and providers, tracheo-cutaneous sutures, and intentionally making the small tracheal flap and the tracheal window the same shape as a medieval shield. A tracheostomy performed in this way is now referred to as the Shield Tracheostomy. Further improvements to the surgical technique are expected in the future.
