Se capacitaron cuatro encuestadores enfermeros profesionales. Se aplicó la encuesta y la Escala Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Seguridad Alimentaria. Se realizó valoración nutricional a partir de los registros en la historia clínica de biomarcadores e indicadores antropométricos y obstétricos. Se realizó análisis univariado y bivariado. Resultados. El 95% de las gestantes adolescentes eran de estratos I y II, el 59% con escolaridad secundaria incompleta, el 79% primigrávidas. El 21% tenía bajo peso pregestacional y el 45% bajo peso durante la gestación. El 15% mostró anemia. El 33% reportó infección urinaria. El 8.7% tenía riesgo de HIE. El 63.3% de las gestantes percibía algún grado de inseguridad alimentaria, que era severa en el 22.7% de los hogares. Conclusión. Se encontró una alta proporción de bajo peso pregestacional no compensado oportunamente. Debido al impacto de la seguridad alimentaria sobre la nutrición en el embarazo, su monitoreo debe ser incluido como una de las actividades básicas en la atención prenatal.Objetivo. To assess the nutritional status and food safety perception of teenage pregnant women consulting in institutions from the ESE Salud Pereira during the year of 2009. Methodology. Descriptive transversal cut study. With a 95% confidence interaRTval, a sample of 150 pregnant women from the prenatal control assistants between April and June of 2009 were chosen. Four professional nurses were trained as interviewers. A survey and the Latin-American and Caribbean food security scale were applied. Nutritional assessment was performed from the biomarkers, anthropometric and obstetric indicators registered in the clinical history. A single variable and bivariate analysis was made. Results. 95% of the teenage pregnant women had socioeconomic status I and II, 59% hadn't completed secondary education, 79% were primigravid, 21% had low weight before pregnancy and 45% low weight during pregnancy. 15% showed anemia. 33% reported urinary tract infection. 8.7% had PIH. 63.3% of the pregnant women perceived any degree of food insecurity which was severe in 22.7% of the homes. Conclusion. A high low weight before pregnancy ratio no opportunely compensated was found. Due to the food security impact over nutrition in pregnancy it's monitoring should be included as one of the basic activities in the prenatal attention.</text>

                <text>Photodynamic inactivation is known as a new antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT). It is based on the administration of a photosensitizer located in the bacterial/viral cell followed by exposure to light radiations (with a proper wavelength corresponding with the maximum value of absorption of the photosensitizer) that generate singlet oxygen or reactive oxygen species, which lead to the death of different microorganisms. This review will present an overview beyond the state-of-the-art of the photosensitizer types (based on tetra-p-sulphonated-phenyl porphyrin—TSPP, which is able to form cationic and J-aggregates forms at different pH values ((1–4) and concentrations around 10−5 M) and their applications of PDT for viruses, especially. The mechanism of dicationic and J-aggregates formation is presented in this paper, and the photophysical parameters have been collected and harmonized to support their behaviours. Studies on Herpes Simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) are useful, because without the help of HSV-1, the COVID-19 virus may not be able to cause serious illness or death in humans. This method could be a new direction for COVID treatment and immunization, either to prevent infections or to develop photoactive fabrics (e.g., masks, suits, gloves) to disinfect surfaces, under artificial light and/or natural sunlight. The use of photodynamic therapy (PDT) can be an alternative approach against SARS-CoV-2 that deserves to be explored.</text>

                <text>El cambio de uso del suelo representa uno de los grandes desafíos que se antepone a la sostenibilidad, debido a que contribuye al cambio climático y a la pérdida de biodiversidad. Ante esto, y con base en el desconocimiento de los patrones de cambios de usos del suelo y sus efectos en los ecosistemas de Huimanguillo, Tabasco, se planteó realizar un análisis con Land Change Modeler (2000-2010) para estimar la distribución de las coberturas naturales con mayor presión ambiental. A partir de ello se construyó una proyección con Cadenas de Markov y Autómatas Celulares (2030). Así, durante 2000 y 2010 se detectaron importantes ganancias en los humedales (39 236 ha) y en la vegetación arbórea (24 773 ha), lo cual es favorable para el mantenimiento de los servicios ecosistémicos. Sin embargo, se registraron aumentos en la zona urbana (1 266 ha) con disminución en la agropecuaria (53 639 ha), aunque esta aún constituye la mayor superficie en el territorio. Además, con el análisis espacial del 2010 contra la proyección 2030, se detectó que continuaron las tendencias de crecimiento de los humedales (7 197 ha), vegetación arbórea (9 937 ha) y uso urbano (1 498 ha); así como la disminución del área agropecuaria (16 433 ha). Este estudio generó información cartográfica útil para la definición de las estrategias y políticas de planificación territorial, que conlleve a la implementación de un modelo de ordenamiento ecológico territorial de desarrollo urbano, y, en su caso, al decreto de áreas naturales protegidas.</text>

                <text>El cambio de uso de suelo es un proceso dominante con efectos negativos sobre la estructura y funcionamiento de los ecosistemas. La zona costera de Tabasco es muy importante para el desarrollo económico, por las grandes áreas de humedales costeros que desembocan al Golfo de México. Sin embargo, los humedales costeros son fuertemente alterados por el cambio de uso de suelo, debido a su cercanía con zonas urbanas, extracción de petróleo y actividades agropecuarias. También están severamente amenazadas por el cambio climático, y el incremento del nivel del mar. En este estudio, se analizó el cambio de uso de suelo en el Sistema lagunar Carmen-Pajonal-Machona en la costa de Tabasco, mediante Land Change Modeler durante 2000-2015 y se generó un escenario probabilístico-espacial en el 2030 mediante Cadenas de Markov y Autómatas Celulares. Se detectó que entre el 2000-2015, los acahuales y humedales, disminuyeron junto 14 238 hectáreas. Estos cambios afectan, la disminución de los hábitats costeros y encaminan riesgos altos de inundación para la población en esta área. También la proyección 2030 son valores alarmantes porque los ecosistemas muestran pérdida de 8090 hectáreas, si no hay un cambio a favor en el paradigma del manejo del suelo costero. Por lo tanto, las tendencias futuras de cambio de uso de suelo en la costa de Tabasco pueden ser mitigadas, mediante la puesta en marcha de las políticas de desarrollo sostenible, que impliquen una planificación a corto y mediano plazo del establecimiento de programas de Ordenamiento Territorial y la creación de Áreas Naturales Protegidas.</text>

                <text>COVID-19 is a wicked problem for policy makers internationally as the complexity of the pandemic transcends health, environment, social and economic boundaries. Many countries are focusing on two key responses, namely virus containment and financial measures, but fail to recognise other aspects. The systems approach, however, enables policy makers to design the most effective strategies and reduce the unintended consequences. To achieve fundamental change, it is imperative to firstly identify the “right” interventions (leverage points) and implement additional measures to reduce negative consequences. To do so, a preliminary causal loop diagram of the COVID-19 pandemic was designed to explore its influence on socio-economic systems. In order to transcend the “wait and see” approach, and create an adaptive and resilient system, governments need to consider “deep” leverage points that can be realistically maintained over the long-term and cause a fundamental change, rather than focusing on “shallow” leverage points that are relatively easy to implement but do not result in significant systemic change.</text>

Durante el 2015-16, se experimentó una combinación inédita de El Niño, la fase cálida de la Oscilación Decadal del Pacífico y el período más cálido del planeta, desde que existen registros. Se realizó una recopilación de fuentes oficiales y reportes de prensa para establecer los impactos sociales y económicos más significativos en América Latina, con énfasis en el sector agrícola y la seguridad alimentaria. Aunque se evidencia una amplia gama de impactos en los países, los más significativos de El Niño 2015-16 se reflejaron principalmente en el agravamiento de las sequías en México, Centroamérica, El Caribe y al norte de Sudamérica, con eventos puntuales de precipitaciones extremas y las consecuentes inundaciones en varios países, desde el centro hasta el sur del continente.</text>

                <text>Background: The first COVID-19 case in the US was diagnosed late January 2020. In the subsequent months, cases grew exponentially. By March 2020, SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19) was a global pandemic and the US declared a national emergency. To mitigate transmission, federal guidelines were established for social and physical distancing. These events disrupted daily routines of individuals around the world, including Americans. The impact of the pandemic on PA patterns of Americans is largely unknown, especially among those at greater risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes. The aim of this study was to assess levels of PA over time during the pandemic among US adults aged &amp;gt;50 years.Methods: Data were collected as part of a web-based, longitudinal, 3-wave study examining health and well-being among adults aged &amp;gt; 50. PA data were collected at Waves 2 and 3 using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF). At Wave 2 (conducted mid-May to early June, 2020), participants completed the IPAQ-SF twice, once in reference to a typical 7-day period before the pandemic, and again in reference to the past 7 days. At Wave 3 (conducted mid-June to early July 2020), participants completed the IPAQ-SF once, with reference to the past 7 days. Potential predictors of PA change were collected using items from previously established surveys and included demographic characteristics, pre-pandemic PA levels, perceived COVID-19 threat, self-rated general health, and number of chronic disease conditions.Results: Respondents (N = 589) had a mean age of 63 ± 7.39 years and were mostly female (88%) and non-Hispanic White (96%). Mean MET-min/week across the three time-referents were 2,904 (pre-pandemic), 1,682 (Wave 2 past 7-days), and 2,001 (Wave 3 past 7-days), with PA declining between the first and second time referents (d = −0.45, p &amp;lt; 0.001) and remaining below pre-pandemic levels at the third (d = −0.34, p &amp;lt; 0.001). Changes over time were predicted by pre-pandemic PA and self-rated general health (p's &amp;lt; .05).Conclusions: Effective strategies are needed to promote safe and socially-distanced PA among adults aged &amp;gt;50 years until the risk of contracting COVID-19 subsides. In the post-pandemic era, PA programming will be imperative to address pandemic-associated declines in PA.</text>

                <text>Esta investigación ha sido llevada a cabo con el objetivo de obtener forraje verde para el ganado lechero en épocas de estiaje, aplicando abono orgánico (biol ovino), y determinar la calidad y el rendimiento de la avena forrajera. El trabajo fue realizado en la gestión agrícola 2015 (febrero a julio) en la Estación Experimental Choquenaira del Departamento de La Paz. Las condiciones climáticas fueron críticas (bajas precipitaciones, temperatura por debajo de los 0°C y menos horas luz) El material genético en estudio fue la avena forrajera local, comprada en la feria dominical de Viacha. El abono líquido (biol bovino) es procesado mediante una descomposición anaeróbica de microorganismos benéficos en los biodigestores durante tres meses de maduración. La superficie cultivada de forraje fue de 360 m2 con parcelas de 180m2 por tratamiento. La relación de biol y agua fue de 50% respectivamente en una mochila fumigadora de 20 l de capacidad. Se utilizó 8,33 m3 ha-1 de biol bovino. La información de rendimiento y calidad de forraje fue analizada por un diseño estadístico descriptivo, en el que se observan diferencias entre el tratamiento (T-50% biol) y el testigo (T-0%biol). El uso del biol bovino enriquece el valor de Proteína cruda, Fibra cruda y valor energético y la presencia de minerales. El rendimiento de materia verde (M.V.) en el tratamiento al cual se aplicó biol (T-50% biol) alcanzó 16,39 t M.V. ha-1, mientras que el testigo (sin biol) produjo 9,80 t M.V. ha-1.</text>

                <text>Como tem acontecido em outros cursos presenciais, as metodologias de ensino de diversos cursos de formação médica foram adaptadas em função do isolamento social imposto pela pandemia do SARS-CoV-2. Assim, muitas instituições de ensino superior passaram a adotar o Ensino Remoto Emergencial (ERE) com o intuito de não paralisar suas atividades acadêmicas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a implantação do ERE em uma Faculdade de Ciências Médicas localizada em São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brasil, a partir da perspectiva discente. A pesquisa é de natureza qualiquantitativa, do tipo Estudo de Caso. A análise dos resultados demonstrou a adaptação e a satisfação dos estudantes com a sequência didática adotada, que alternou metodologias assíncronas e síncronas, em especial a utilização dos vídeos gravados pelos professores. Esses resultados podem fornecer dados aos estudos que buscam investigar o impacto das tecnologias digitais na formação de alunos do ensino superior, porém devem ser considerados a partir do contexto em que foram adotados.</text>
