Sesé Description An account of the resource Se dan a conocer cinco nuevos yacimientos de micromamíferos de la cuenca de Calatayud: Vilueña, Torralba de Ribota 8, Montón, Armantes 14 y Belmonte, que abarcan un período comprendido entre el Mioceno inferior y el superior. En las asociaciones faunísticas de micromamíferos de los cuatro primeros yacimientos, hemos determinado la línea evolutiva de las especies: Megacricetodon primitivus-collongensis- crusafonti del Mioceno medio, lo que nos ha permitido situarlas con gran precisión bioestratigráfica. El yacimiento bioestratigráficamente más antiguo es el de Vilueña, en el que está presente la especie Megacricetodon primitivus que es característica de las zonas C y D1 correspondientes, respectivamente, al Aragoniense inferior y medio. En Torralba de Ribota 8, la asociación de Megacriceton primitivus-collongensis y Fahlbuschia koenigswaldi es característica de la zona D del Aragoniense medio. En Montón se encuentra la forma de transición Megacricetodon collongensis-crusafonti, característica de las zonas F y G1 del Aragoniense superior. En Armantes 14 está la especie Megacricetodon crusafonti que es característica de la zona G2 del Aragoniense superior. Finalmente en el yacimiento de Belmonte, la presencia del múrido Progonomys hispanicus indica su edad del Vallesiense superior, en la zona J caracterizada por dicha especie. Desde un punto de vista paleoambiental y paleoclimático, durante el Aragoniense inferior y medio, la presencia en las asociaciones de Vilueña, Torralba de Ribota 8 y Montón de ardillas terrestres, atribuibles al género Heteroxerus, y glíridos del género Microdyromys que no están ligados a un clima húmedo, así como el carácter termófilo del glírido del género Microdyromys y del cricétido del género Fahlbuschia, hacen suponer la existencia de un medio abierto y un clima relativamente seco y cálido (Daams et al., 1988; Daams y Van der Meulen, 1984; Van der Meulen y Daams, 1992). En la asociación del Aragoniense superior de Armantes 14, sin embargo, ya aparece un glírido considerado de clima húmedo, como el género Muscardinus, y no se constata la presencia de ardillas terrestres, habiéndose interpretado esta edad como relativamente más húmeda que la precedente (Daams et al., op.cit.). La transición de las faunas del Mioceno medio al Mioceno superior en la cuenca de Calatayud (representada esta última edad por la asociación faunística del Vallesiense superior del nuevo yacimiento de Belmonte) corrobora también en esta área la existencia de un cambio faunístico con la desaparición de los taxones de cricétidos que tuvieron una gran expansión y evolución durante el Mioceno medio, frente a la llegada de nuevos inmigrantes como los múridos, representados por el género Progonomys. Estos hechos se han interpretado como resultado de un cambio climático hacia unas condiciones relativamente más secas, que continuaron durante todo el Mioceno superior, y más frías (Daams et al., op.cit.). Rodríguez Description An account of the resource La composición y abundancia de las faunas de macromamíferos de la Península Ibérica ha sufrido importantes cambios durante el Neógeno (23-2 millones de años antes del presente). En el presente artículo se analizan y describen estos cambios, discutiéndose las faunas implicadas y apuntándose posibles causas de los cambios observados. Los resultados muestran un fuerte aumento en el número de especies presentes en la Península desde el final del Mioceno inferior hasta la primera mitad del Mioceno tardio, seguido de un fuerte descenso hasta el Plioceno, interrumpido por un aumento temporal de la riqueza durante el final del Mioceno. Paralelamente a la riqueza general de la Península, se aprecia que las faunas locales (correspondientes a yacimientos individuales) registradas durante el Mioceno medio y superior son, en algunos casos, excepcionalmente diversas, equiparables a las de los ecosistemas tropicales más ricos de la actualidad. Los cambios temporales en la diversidad son comúnmente interpretados como respuestas a cambios climáticos. Sin embargo, los análisis realizados apuntan la posibilidad de que muchos de estos cambios sean consecuencia de diferencias en el registro. A nivel de diversidad local, por diferencias en los procesos de formación de los yacimientos y, a nivel regional (de la Península Ibérica), relacionados con el número de yacimientos y áreas estudiadas en los distintos momentos. Asimismo, la comparación de los patrones de diversidad obtenidos con curvas climáticas globales publicadas recientemente, así como con distintos eventos biogeográficos relacionados con la apertura y cierre de vías migratorias, permiten apreciar una mayor relación de los cambios de diversidad con procesos biogeográficos y en cierto grado con las variaciones en los niveles globales de CO2. Los resultados apuntan también diversos patrones de relación entre la diversidad local (el número de especies por yacimiento) y la regional (el número de especies en la Península Ibérica) que podrían estar relacionados con cambios en la heterogeneidad ambiental presente en la Península a lo largo del tiempo. Beguería Description An account of the resource En este trabajo se analizan los patrones espacio-temporales de las precipitaciones en el Pirineo español desde el año 1950 desde una perspectiva multiparamétrica, considerando no solo el volumen total de precipitación sino también diferentes parámetros que dan una importante información sobre la ocurrencia de las mismas, como el número de días de precipitación, las rachas secas y las precipitaciones extremas. Los resultados muestran un descenso generalizado de las precipitaciones a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo veinte, sobre todo durante la primavera y el verano. El descenso se explica fundamentalmente por la disminución de los eventos de mayor intensidad pues la tendencia en la frecuencia de días lluviosos tiene una gran variabilidad espacial. Los modelos de cambio climático muestran en sus predicciones un acusado descenso de las precipitaciones a lo largo del siglo veintiuno en el Pirineo, con un descenso en la frecuencia de días lluvioso, un aumento de la intensidad de los fenómenos más extremos y un acusado aumento en la duración de las rachas secas.
