Interestingly, this study found online learning using the WhatsApp Group to be the most effective in the early COVID-19 pandemic. The result shows that the majority of students use the WhatsApp application, and most of them study autonomously through online platforms. Besides, it reveals that the most popular learning material is video. To improve their language skills, students are more likely to have peer-discussion activities. The study discovered a shift in Arabic learning by students of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang from personal to instrumental as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. In this case, there was a transformation in Arabic learning from a personal-cultural approach to an instrumental-functional approach. The land snails inhabiting the limestone highlands in Cuba are poorly known. From field surveys, traditional collection catalogues, and the literature, we list 136 species, 49 genera and 19 families, 90 % of the species endemic to Cuba; only five species are non-indigenous of the Cuban archipelago. Annulariidae and Urocoptidae are the most represented families, and Chondrothyra and Liocallonia are the genera with the highest number of species. Forty-four species of this list were absent from the consulted collections. We provide 16 new records of species in localities of the region; and 12 species seem to have become locally extinct. Rev. Los resultados de la diversidad genética del germoplasma, indican que la proteína fluctúo de 10,21 a 18,39%, el contenido de grasa de 2,05 a 10,88% y el tamaño de gránulo de almidón de 1 a 28 μ. Por otra parte, las variedades y líneas reportaron un mismo patrón de aminoácidos esenciales, donde la leucina fluctuó de 46,0 a 58,5 y la lisina de 42,0 a 53,3 mg g-1 de proteína; asimismo, del total de ácidos grasos presentes, cinco de ellos en conjunto contienen de 86,60 a 91,84%, tres son insaturados (oleico, linoleico y linolénico) y dos saturados (palmítico y esteárico). El almidón fluctuó entre 39,2 a 61,5%, la amilosa de 10,5 a 21,5% y la amilopectina de 78,5 a 89,5%. Winn Description An account of the resource Abstract Background The growth in publically available microbiome data in recent years has yielded an invaluable resource for genomic research, allowing for the design of new studies, augmentation of novel datasets and reanalysis of published works. This vast amount of microbiome data, as well as the widespread proliferation of microbiome research and the looming era of clinical metagenomics, means there is an urgent need to develop analytics that can process huge amounts of data in a short amount of time. To address this need, we propose a new method for the compact representation of microbiome sequencing data using similarity-preserving sketches of streaming k-mer spectra. These sketches allow for dissimilarity estimation, rapid microbiome catalogue searching and classification of microbiome samples in near real time. Results We apply streaming histogram sketching to microbiome samples as a form of dimensionality reduction, creating a compressed ‘histosketch’ that can efficiently represent microbiome k-mer spectra. Using public microbiome datasets, we show that histosketches can be clustered by sample type using the pairwise Jaccard similarity estimation, consequently allowing for rapid microbiome similarity searches via a locality sensitive hashing indexing scheme. Furthermore, we use a ‘real life’ example to show that histosketches can train machine learning classifiers to accurately label microbiome samples. Specifically, using a collection of 108 novel microbiome samples from a cohort of premature neonates, we trained and tested a random forest classifier that could accurately predict whether the neonate had received antibiotic treatment (97% accuracy, 96% precision) and could subsequently be used to classify microbiome data streams in less than 3 s. Conclusions Our method offers a new approach to rapidly process microbiome data streams, allowing samples to be rapidly clustered, indexed and classified. We also provide our implementation, Histosketching Using Little K-mers (HULK), which can histosketch a typical 2 GB microbiome in 50 s on a standard laptop using four cores, with the sketch occupying 3000 bytes of disk space. This paper uses the stock returns of 125 sectors to investigate its impact. It decomposes returns into components driven by sector-specific factors and by macroeconomic factors.
