Se identificaron fuentes de ruido y actividades capaces de causar daño a la audición o molestias para realizar actividades intelectuales. Con este antecedente se evaluaron los niveles de ruido mediante un sonómetro calibrado y bajo la norma UNE-EN ISO 9612:2009. Los resultados de la medición demostraron que los niveles de ruido del generador y oficinas, sobrepasan el límite permisible de 85 dB(A) y 70 dB(A) respectivamente; límites establecidos por el Decreto Ejecutivo 2393. Para minimizar el riesgo de pérdida auditiva, se dictaminó el uso obligatorio de protectores auditivos mediante señales de seguridad; así como un plan de rotación del personal para disminuir el tiempo de exposición a ruido. En las oficinas se modeló un acondicionamiento acústico para bajar el nivel de ruido y evitar que las actividades de carácter intelectual se vean interferidas por el ruido excesivo en el ambiente. Se ejecutó un plan de capacitación para dar a conocer los efectos del ruido en la salud y las medidas de control implementadas por la empresa. Para verificar el estado de salud auditiva se realizaron audiometrías a los trabajadores antes y después de la implementación del proyecto; esto con el fin de constatar si a lo largo del tiempo sufrieron alteraciones. Adicional, se implementó un plan de mantenimiento preventivo de los elementos mecánicos susceptibles de causar ruido dentro del generador. Abstract: The objective of this work was the design and implementation of preventive measures and noise control for the Energy Generation Center of the company Dipor S.A., to safeguard the hearing health of workers. It began with the identification of noise sources and activities that can cause hearing damage or inconvenience for intellectual activities, to further evaluate the noise levels using a calibrated sound level meter and under the UNE-EN ISO 9612: 2009. The measurement results showed that the noise of the generator and offices exceed the permissible limit of 85 dB(A) and 70 dB(A), respectively; limits established by Executive Order 2393. To minimize the risk of hearing loss, the use of hearing protectors was established by safety signals; and a plan to reduce the noise exposure time of workers. An acoustic conditioning was modeled inside the office to reduce the noise level and prevent the intellectual activities being interfered by excessive noise in the environment. A training plan was implemented to show the effects of noise on health and control measures implemented by the company. Audiograms were performed to workers before and after implementation of the project to check the status of hearing health and determine whether over time suffered hearing impairment. Additional, a plan of preventive maintenance of mechanical elements capable of causing noise inside the generator was implemented. Una vez conocidos los parámetros de contaminación de cada efluente líquido se escogió cuáles pueden ser recuperados y reutilizados. Se proponen 2 sistemas para la recuperación y reutilización de los efluentes líquidos escogidos. Con el sistema propuesto de recuperación y reutilización, la empresa ahorra 228965.76 HL /año de agua general, 272332.80 HL /año de agua residual tratada, con un beneficio económico de 8069.97 USD/año. La inversión requerida para la instalación del sistema de recuperación y reutilización es  13828.20 USD, la cual se la recupera a los  2.22 años, siendo el valor del TIR  de  42.28% y del VAN 15423.25 USD, para un tiempo de vida útil de 5 años.   In the present project was the implementation of cleaner production in the bottling process an Ecuadorian brewery regard to the decline and recovery of liquid effluents possible to achieve overall water savings and treated wastewater to take into account the degree of pollution they bring these liquid effluents. Preliminary work was to conduct a flow diagram for each production line, which indicates the output of each of the liquid effluents generated in the bottling process for subsequently determining the composition and volume of discharge through physico-chemical analysis according to 'Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, APHA, AWWA, WPCF'. Once known pollution parameters of each liquid effluent was chosen which can be recovered and reused. We propose two systems for the recovery and reuse of liquid effluents chosen. With the proposed system recovery and reuse, the company saves 228965.76 HL / year of water generally 272332.80 HL / year of treated wastewater, with a profit of 8069.97 USD / year. We assessed an improved tree tomato genotypes, derived from the crossing [(S. betaceum unilobum x) x S. betaceum] x S. betaceum, showing some degree of resistance to generate an alternative of sustainable management to this disease on a site with a high degree of infection in commercial ecotypes (Pelileo- Province of Tungurahua, Ecuador). Significantly differences among the analyzed groups were found in fruit and flesh color, as well as in quantitative variables such as yield. Two groups (G1 and G5) were noted for their low incidence of anthracnose, although they showed less progress in terms of productive variables. A selection index based on z-scores, allowed identifying superior individuals in terms of resistance to the disease and fruit quality. The genetic component of phenotypic variables showed that most of the observed variability is due to the genotypes and not to the environmental variability. Con un muestreo aleatorio por medio de parcelas anidadas y a través del método destructivo, se evaluó la cantidad de biomasa arbórea y subterránea de árboles de diámetro promedio, la necromasa y la vegetación herbácea. Los modelos se construyeron para el árbol completo y sus componentes (tronco, raíz, ramas y hojas), usando como variable predictora el diámetro normal; para cuantificar la biomasa y el carbono por hectárea, se utilizó el área basal. Todos los modelos presentaron ajustes muy satisfactorios (R2 > 0.93) y predijeron tanto la biomasa como el carbono con bajos errores de estimación. La biomasa total en el ecosistema fue de 140.0 Mg ha-1 (65.5 Mg C ha-1), un 93.6 % corresponde a biomasa o carbono en los árboles. La fracción de carbono entre los componentes varió entre 39.1 y 42.8 %. El factor de expansión de biomasa para incluir hojas, rama y raíz fue de 2.09; 1.69, para incluir hojas y ramas, y 1.37, solo para la raíz. Los modelos elegidos se caracterizan por su fácil aplicación, por usar como variable predictora el diámetro o el área basal, ambas fáciles de medir o de calcular en todo inventario forestal. Asimismo, la biomasa y el carbono calculados en el nivel de ecosistema y por árbol, los valores de fracción de carbono en la biomasa y los factores de expansión están entre los rangos citados en otras investigaciones, convirtiéndolos, así, en indicadores nacionales que facilitan estimar, con mayor exactitud, el aporte del ecosistema a la mitigación del cambio climático. The aim of this study was to investigate the extent of variation in COVID-19 outcomes between National Health Service (NHS) hospital trusts and regions in England using data from March-July 2020. This was a retrospective observational study using the Hospital Episode Statistics administrative dataset. Patients aged ≥ 18 years who had a diagnosis of COVID-19 during a hospital stay in England that was completed between March 1st and July 31st, 2020 were included. In-hospital mortality was the primary outcome of interest. In secondary analysis, critical care admission, length of stay and mortality within 30 days of discharge were also investigated. Multilevel logistic regression was used to adjust for covariates. There were 86,356 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 included in the study, of whom 22,944 (26.6%) died in hospital with COVID-19 as the primary cause of death. After adjusting for covariates, the extent of the variation in-hospital mortality rates between hospital trusts and regions was relatively modest. Trusts with the largest baseline number of beds and a greater proportion of patients admitted to critical care had the lowest in-hospital mortality rates. There is little evidence of clustering of deaths within hospital trusts. There may be opportunities to learn from the experience of individual trusts to help prepare hospitals for future case-surges. Al usar combustibles fósiles se tienen como subproductos las emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (GEI), causantes de los cambios climáticos. Antes de implementar medidas para reducir las emisiones debe estimarse su valor actual. El objetivo es estimar las emisiones de GEI por generación de electricidad en usuarios no residenciales de Venezuela para el período 2006-2017, ambos inclusive, que cuenten o no con autogeneración y tengan suministro de energía por parte de la empresa eléctrica venezolana Corporación Eléctrica Nacional (CORPOELEC). La metodología empleada sigue las directrices del IPCC2006. Para el trabajo se utilizan los factores de emisión, la energía eléctrica suministrada por CORPOELEC y la autogenerada,  y los tipos de combustibles para autogeneración. Los datos publicados por la Organización Latinoamericana de Energía (OLADE) de factores de emisión sólo se tienen hasta el 2015, para los años 2016 y 2017 se estiman con función de regresión de números cuadrados. La cuantificación de las emisiones sirve de apoyo a la toma de decisiones para la inversión en planes para alcanzar los ODS del 2030. Los datos de sensores multiespectrales remotos aerotransportados (SM) permiten construir índices de vegetación (VI, por sus siglas en idioma inglés) y relacionarlos con características fisiológicas y biofísicas de las pasturas. El objetivo fue evaluar VI para la estimación de la cantidad y calidad de pasto kikuyo en sistemas lecheros, del norte de Antioquia, Colombia. Se calcularon 10 diferentes VI, con 168 muestras de pasto kikuyo. Las muestras fueron pesadas, para estimar la biomasa verde (BV) y analizadas por espectroscopia del infrarrojo cercano, para los contenidos de proteína bruta (PB), fibra en detergente neutro (FDN) y fibra en detergente ácido (FDA). Los datos, se analizaron usando componentes principales (CP) y modelos aditivos generalizados suavizados. Las variables que más contribuyeron a la formación de la primera componente principal (CP1) fueron el índice de vegetación de diferencia normalizada (NDVI), el índice de vegetación simple (RVI), el índice de vegetación de diferencia normalizada verde (GNDVI), el índice clorofílico verde (Clg) y la BV del pasto kikuyo. Para la segunda componente principal (CP2) fueron el índice de vegetación de diferencia normalizada borde del rojo (RNDVI), el índice borde del rojo de clorofila (Clrg) y PB, FDN y FDA del pasto kikuyo. La BV fue explicada por el NDVI y PB por el RNDVI. La estimación obtenida para FDN y FDA del pasto kikuyo no fueron precisas.
