Diante disso, o trabalho teve como objetivo ajustar o manejo produtivo da criação animal nos Assentamentos Paxicu e Padre Cleides no sertão da Paraíba. Foram realizadas visitas mensais de maio a novembro de 2017, com oficinas explicativas e demonstrativas, distribuição de materiais e utensílios para utilização no manejo dos animais, além de palestras a respeito do manejo de suplementação mineral. Foi registrado, na comunidade Paxicu, 518 bovinos, 82 suínos e 745 aves e, em Padre Cleides, 87 bovinos e 45 caprinos e ovinos. A partir do efetivo de animais dessas comunidades, foram implementadas atividades como escrituração zootécnica, uso do CMT no rebanho bovino, vermifugação estratégica e tratamento de linfadenite caseosa em caprinos e ovinos. Além das melhorias na produção animal, foram distribuídos materiais para valorização dos produtos como embalagens e etiquetas padronizadas. Ao final do projeto notou-se boa aceitação por parte dos produtores, que ao ajustar técnicas já utilizadas puderam notar melhorias no resultado final da produção. Here, we reviewed the available literature, looking for the species of Mexican flora for which extracts and metabolites have shown activity against pest insects and parasitic nematodes of agricultural importance, as well as against nematodes that parasitize domestic cattle. From 1996 to 2018, the search for novel and eco-friendly biopesticides has resulted in the identification of 114 species belonging to 36 botanical families of Mexican plants with reported biological effects on 20 insect species and seven nematode species. Most plant species with detected pesticide properties belong to the families Asteraceae, Fabaceae, and Lamiaceae. Eighty-six metabolites have been identified as pesticidal active principles, and most have been terpenoids. Therefore, the continuation and intensification of this area of research is very important to contribute to the generation of new products that will provide alternatives to conventional pesticide agents. In addition, future studies will contribute to the recognition and dissemination of the importance of propagating plant species for their conservation and sustainable use.
