Em 1996 os tratamentos incluíram o biofertilizante anaeróbico 50%, biofertilizante aeróbico 5%, sulfato de manganês 1%, extrato hidroalcoólico de própolis 0,2%, macerado de ervas ('fersoral') 2% e 4%, extrato de fumo (Nicotiana tabacum) 2 L ha-1 + 1% detergente neutro, testemunha sem aplicação. Em 1997 os tratamentos incluíram o macerado de ervas ('fersoral') 5% 10%, enxofre pó molhável 0,25% + extrato hidroalcoólico de própolis 0,2% + extrato de samambaia 3%, biofertilizante anaeróbico 50%, biofertilizante aeróbico 5%, extrato de losna (Artemisia verlotorum) 3%, extrato de timbó (Ateleia glazioviana) 0,5%, extrato de samambaia (Pteridium aquilinum) 10%, extrato de erva-de-santa-maria (Chenopodium ambrosioides) 10%, extrato de cinamomo (Melia azedarach) 10%, extrato de camomila (Matricaria chamomilla) 5%, testemunha sem aplicação. Para aplicação dos produtos empregou-se pulverizador de pressão constante a base de CO2. Os tratamentos não causaram redução significativa na incidência de tripes e aumentos significativos na produtividade.Alternative substances to manage thrips population (Thrips tabaci Lind.) on onion, in an organic agriculture system were evaluated. The experiments were carried out in Ituporanga, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. Plants of onion cv. Crioula were transplanted into two fields on 9th September/96 and 13th August/97 and harvested respectively on 10th January/97 and 11th December/97. A randomized blocks with four replicates were used in both experiments. In 1996 the treatments included the anaerobic liquid biofertilizer at 50%, aerobic liquid biofertilizer at 5%, manganese sulfate at 1%, hydroalcoholic extract of propolis at 0,2%, macerate of herbs at 2% and 4%, tobacco extract (Nicotiana tabacum) 2 L ha-1 + neutral detergent at 1%, and no spray.                 <text>Estima-se que cerca da metade dos resíduos sólidos gerados no Brasil é composto por resíduos orgânicos (PNSB, 2008). Uma vez que estes resíduos possuem a característica de biodegradabilidade, o uso de processos de compostagem para o seu tratamento torna-se bastante atrativo. Este estudo verificou a aplicabilidade de três tipos de composteiras e de uma pilha de compostagem para reciclagem de resíduos sólidos orgânicos em pequena escala, dando uma alternativa útil para a problemática dos resíduos sólidos orgânicos e devolvendo ao meio ambiente um produto final na forma de fertilizante orgânico. A metodologia consistiu em avaliar e monitorar os processos de compostagem para os diferentes tipos de composteiras. O monitoramento fundamentou-se na correção da relação C/N, umidade e oxigenação, e na observação dos parâmetros: temperatura, sólidos voláteis, pH, redução de massa seca e condutividade elétrica. Comparando-se o desempenho do processo de compostagem desenvolvido na pilha com aqueles conduzidos nas minicomposteiras, observou-se que a pilha mostrou-se mais eficiente na maior parte dos parâmetros monitorados. Os resultados também sugerem que, dentre os três tipos de composteiras avaliadas, as construídas com garrafões de água foram as que mais se destacaram, principalmente por atingir as maiores reduções nos parâmetros sólidos voláteis e massa seca.</text>

                <text>O presente estudo se propôs a indicar cultivares de feijão (Phaseolus vulgaris) que tenham melhor desempenho no sistema orgânico, além de mostrar que o rendimento ótimo sustentável conseguido pela agricultura orgânica, pode estar muito próximo do rendimento potencial conseguido pela agricultura convencional. No ano de 2003, foram instalados dois ensaios, um irrigado e outro no período das águas, em uma área de pastagem de baixa fertilidade, situação semelhante à encontrada pelos produtores que se iniciam na produção orgânica sem passar pelo período de conversão, utilizando áreas que se encontram em descanso há alguns anos ou pastagens que não receberam aplicações de agrotóxicos ou adubos de alta solubilidade. No ano seguinte, os mesmos ensaios foram instalados em outra área com fertilidade corrigida e equilibrada, situação em que se encontram produtores já enquadrados na atividade orgânica. Utilizou-se delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições. As cultivares avaliadas foram: Diamante Negro, Talismã, Xamego, Marfim, Jalo Precoce, Pérola, Timbó, Radiante, Aporé, Valente e Vereda. Dentre as cultivares empregadas destacaram-se as dos grupos comerciais preto e carioca, os tipos de maior demanda na região do Distrito Federal.This study objectified indicate field beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) cultivars that have better performance in organic system, besides to show that the optimum sustainable yield, that can be managed by organic agriculture can be close to potential yield managed by the conventional agriculture. Two experiments were established during the year 2003, one under irrigation system in the dry season and the other in the wet season, in an area with brachiaria pasture with low fertility, the same situation of growers who choose to join the organic system without the necessity of passing through the conversion period, using areas that have been in rest for few years or pastures that doesn't have pesticides or soluble fertilizers aplications. In the subsequent year, the same experiments were established in other area with corrected and equilibrated fertility, the same situation of the growers fitted in the organic activity. A randomized complete block design with four replications was used. It was evaluated the cultivars Diamante Negro, Talismã, Xamego, Marfim, Jalo Precoce, Pérola, Timbó, Radiante, Aporé, Valente and Vereda The best performing cultivars were from 'black' and 'carioca' commercial groups, which are the most demanded types in the region of the State of Distrito Federal.</text>

A utilização de cultivares adaptadas a esse sistema de plantio é uma medida que contribui para elevar a sustentabilidade e a estabilidade do agroecossistema. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar diferentes cultivares de feijão comum (Phaseolus vulgaris) em sistema orgânico de produção. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições.  O estudo foi conduzido na forma de teste de avaliação local, sendo que as cultivares BRS Marfim, IAPAR 81, Pérola, Uirapuru, Jalo EEP, Xamego, Diamante Negro, Vermelho 2157, Roxo 90, Jalo Precoce, BRS Vereda, Iraí, BRSMG Talismã, BRS Timbó, BRS Radiante, BRS Valente, Goiano Precoce, Diacol Calima e BRS Aporé, constituíram os tratamentos. Foram conduzidos dois ensaios, no ano de 2004, um sob irrigação, na época da seca, e outro em condições de sequeiro, na época das águas. A cultivar BRS Marfim foi a mais produtiva na média dos dois sistemas. Sob condições de irrigação, além dessa cultivar, as cultivares Iapar 81, Pérola, Uirapuru, Jalo EEP 558 e Xamego tiveram produtividade significativamente superior às demais e em condições de sequeiro, as cultivares Vermelho 2157, BRS Marfim, Diacol Calima, Diamante Negro, Pérola e Uirapuru apresentaram produtividade estatisticamente superior às demais. Em relação ao aspecto fitossanitário, a doença que ocorreu com maior severidade foi a mancha-angular (Phaeoisariopsis griseola), e as cultivares que apresentaram maior susceptibilidade ao seu ataque foram BRS Timbó e Aporé, tanto no período de inverno quanto no período das águas.</text>

Na época da colheita, 81 dias após a emergência das plântulas, todas as cultivares testadas (Celeste, Surubi, Campo Grande, Mandi, Lambari e Taquari) mostraram excelente nodulação, variando de 545 a 760 mg/planta de massa nodular seca. As cultivares Celeste e Taquari, que produziram, respectivamente, 8,33 e 7,12 t ha-1 de biomassa seca da parte aérea, apresentaram outras características agronômicas vantajosas, tais como: ciclo curto, alta acumulação de nutrientes (N, P, K, Ca e Mg) nos tecidos verdes e bom rendimento de sementes. Esses caracteres indicam potencial de 'Celeste' e 'Taquari' para adubação verde de verão em sistemas de agricultura orgânica. Cinco das cultivares avaliadas revelaram tendência ao acamamento, porém dentro de níveis aceitáveis. As cultivares Celeste, Surubi, Campo Grande, Mandi e Taquari suplantaram em 23%, 32%, 33%, 44% e 70%, respectivamente, a média nacional de produtividade de soja, estimada em 2.398 kg ha-1 nas últimas três safras.The objective of this work was to evaluate the grain and aboveground biomass production of six soybean cultivars under organic management. A randomized block design was adopted with four replications per treatment (cultivar). By harvest time, 81 days after plants emergence, all tested cultivars (Celeste, Surubi, Campo Grande, Mandi, Lambari, and Taquari) had excellent nodulation ranging from 545 to 760 mg/plant of nodule mass (dry weight). The cultivars Celeste and Taquari, which yielded 8.33 and 7.12 t ha-1 of dry biomass, respectively, showed other advantageous agronomic characteristics such as: short cycle, a high accumulation of nutrients (N, P, K, Ca and Mg) in green tissues, and good seed setting. O trabalho foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito do uso de leguminosas no sistema de produção de café, no segmento de agricultura familiar, visando promover a implantação e a manutenção dos cafezais de forma técnica e economicamente sustentável. O experimento foi conduzido no período de novembro de 2000 a abril de 2003, em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos utilizados nas parcelas foram as leguminosas (Stizolobium atterrimum, Cajanus cajan, Canavalia endiformis e Flemingia congesta) e a testemunha (sem leguminosa) e, nas subparcelas, duas doses de N (0 e 22 g de N por cova). A Flemingia congesta e a Mucuna aterrima foram as leguminosas que mais influenciaram positivamente a produtividade dos cafeeiros, independente da adubação nitrogenada. Em relação à testemunha, o aumento em produção foi de 109% quando utilizou-se a Flemingia congesta e 52% com a Mucuna aterrima. A Flemingia congesta foi também a leguminosa que melhor controlou as invasoras, dado o volume de fitomassa produzida e a possibilidade de 2 cortes durante um período de doze meses, evidenciando o potencial desta leguminosa na formação de novos cafezais no Acre. Por outro lado, a Canavalia ensiformis, leguminosa que é normalmente utilizada nas entrelinhas dos cafeeiros pelos cafeicultores, do Acre e de outras regiões produtoras, neste trabalho influenciou negativamente a altura das plantas, diâmetro da copa e crescimento dos cafeeiros.</text>

                <text>A abóbora (Cucurbita moschata Duch.) é uma cultura de importância para a agricultura familiar da região Nordeste do Brasil. No entanto, a ocorrência do prateamento das folhas da aboboreira ocasionado pela mosca-branca, Bemisia tabaci biótipo B limita sua produção, causando prejuízos aos agricultores. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência de extratos vegetais sobre o nível populacional de ninfas de mosca-branca em abóbora cv. Jacarezinho. O experimento foi instalado em campo experimental, em blocos casualizados, constituído de seis tratamentos e três repetições. As aplicações dos extratos vegetais foram feitas com intervalo de sete dias, fazendo-se uso de substâncias extraídas das seguintes plantas: canudo (Ipomoea carnea subsp. fistulosa), mamona (Ricinus communis L.), tinguí (Mascagnia rigida Griseb), cardo-santo (Argemone mexicana L.), e o óleo comercial Natuneem®. Todos os extratos vegetais obtiveram eficiência no controle de ninfas B. tabaci, sendo o R. communis (75,49%), M. rigida (73,99%), I. carnea (72,24%), óleo de nim (70,4%) e A. mexicana (69,16%).The squash (Cucurbita moschata Duch.) is an important crop for family farmers in the northeast of Brazil. However, the occurrence of leaf silvering caused by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci biotype B, limits production, causing losses to farmers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of plant extracts on the population levels of whitefly nymphs on the squash cv. Jacarezinho. The experiment was conducted at an experimental field, in a randomized block design consisting of six treatments and three replications. Applications of plant extracts were made at an interval of seven days, making use of substances extracted from the following plants: Ipomoea carnea subsp. Fistulosa, castor bean (Ricinus communis L.), Tingui (Mascagnia rigida Griseb), cardo-santo (Argemone mexicana L.), and the commercial oil product Natuneem ®. All of the plant extracts were efficient in the control of the B. Tabaci nymphs, with R. communis (75.49%), M. rigida (73.99%), I. carnea (72.24%), neem oil (70.4%) and A. mexicana (69.16%).</text>

                <text>Entre os nutrientes essenciais, o nitrogênio é exigido em maior quantidade pelas gramíneas, sendo normalmente o principal responsável pelo aumento de produtividade. Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar fontes e doses de N em gramíneas forrageiras de inverno (aveia-preta + azevém) e de verão (sorgo forrageiro e milheto) cultivadas em sucessão. Os tratamentos constaram de duas fontes de N, nitrato de amônio e esterco de suínos, aplicadas nas doses de zero, 60, 120 e 180kg de N/ha, em duas épocas: na semeadura da cultura e após o primeiro corte. Houve resposta das forrageiras às doses de N aplicadas, sem diferença entre fontes. O rendimento máximo de matéria seca das gramíneas de inverno (aveia-preta + azevém) foi alcançado com a aplicação entre 150 e 160kg/ha de N. No caso das gramíneas tropicais (sorgo e milheto), a resposta à adubação foi em geral linear até os 180kg/ha de N aplicados.</text>

                <text>Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo, identificar e avaliar quantiqualitativamente os impactos ambientais provocados na qualidade da água, solo, ar e meio biótico, a partir das atividades agrícolas inerentes à Dendeicultura e Agricultura Familiar, em duas propriedades rurais, verificar a percepção ambiental da comunidade no entorno dessas propriedades no município de Acará-PA e propor medidas mitigadoras para os impactos de maior significância. O método utilizado foi hipotético – dedutivo, com abrangência quantiqualitativa, natureza aplicada e procedimento exploratório. Foram aplicados 52 formulários para verificar a percepção ambiental dos moradores próximos as propriedades. Realizou-se duas coletas de água e uma de solo, para avaliação da qualidade ambiental. Houve a valoração dos impactos ambientais na Matriz de Leopold, para o cálculo da significância. Os dados obtidos e analisados indicaram a qualidade da água inadequada para o consumo humano e os solos apresentaram concentrações de macronutrientes baixas. A percepção da comunidade ao meio ambiente, os indivíduos amostrados desconhecem sobre tais condições. O impacto de maior significância foi a contaminação do corpo hídrico. Com isso, os impactos provocaram desequilíbrio ambiental em ambas as propriedades, logo, há necessidade de medidas ambientais como a construção de um tanque de concreto para lavagem e imersão da mandioca (Manihot esculenta Crantz).</text>
