                <text>Introducción: El uso de las bacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal (PGPB) permiten disminuir el empleo de químicos en la agricultura, perjudiciales para el ambiente y los seres humanos. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue caracterizar integralmente aislados de la clase Bacilli para la selección de cepas potencialmente eficientes para su uso en la agricultura sostenible. Métodos: Se aislaron las bacterias calentando a 80 ºC las muestras de rizosfera y plantas desinfectadas de arroz, maíz y cafeto. Se caracterizaron según sus atributos como PGPB y antagonistas de patógenos. Se seleccionaron cepas para estudiar la colonización, la diversidad poblacional y el efecto en la promoción del crecimiento. Resultados: Se aislaron y caracterizaron 145 bacterias aerobias Gram positivas formadoras de endosporas endófitas y rizosféricas. Las cepas estudiadas muestran varios atributos para la promoción del crecimiento. Se demostró el antagonismo de 37 cepas de arroz, maíz cafeto frente a 11 hongos fitopatógenos. Se seleccionaron dos cepas que demostraron su capacidad para colonizar plantas de arroz y de formar biopelículas y de movimiento. Se identificaron las cepas promisorias por secuenciación del DNAr 16S como pertenecientes al género Bacillus. El estudio molecular de la población de Bacillus aislados del arroz demostró su elevada diversidad genética y la presencia de determinantes de virulencia en algunas cepas. La inoculación de maíz y tomate en condiciones semicontroladas mostró efectos positivos en el crecimiento de la planta. Conclusiones: Se dispone de una colección microbiana nativa, caracterizada integralmente, eficiente en la promoción del crecimiento vegetal y con actividad antagonista de patógenos, que constituyen la base para la obtención de nuevos bioproductos. Se propone una metodología eficiente para la prospección y caracterización de Bacillus para la sostenibilidad agrícola.</text>

                <text>Este trabajo se propuso aislar bacterias diazotróficas con actividad promotora del crecimiento vegetal, asociadas al cultivo de zanahoria. Se realizaron 3 muestreos, a los 30, 60 y 115 días, en una granja ubicada en una zona rural del municipio de Manizales (Caldas). El aislamiento de las bacterias diazotróficas se efectuó en medios de cultivo semisólidos libres de nitrógeno. A los aislamientos obtenidos se les realizó descripción macro y microscópica, identificación bioquímica y molecular. Se evaluaron características como determinación de compuestos indólicos, actividad nitrogenasa y solubilización de fosfatos. Como cepa patrón se empleó Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus ATCC 49037. Se recuperaron 20 aislamientos asociados a la rizosfera y 12 al rizoplano. La identificación molecular mostró cinco géneros presentes: Rhizobium, Achromobacter, Bacillus, Enterobacter y Stenotrophomonas. La producción de compuestos indólicos presentó concentraciones entre 9,73 y 112,8 µg/mL. La cepa patrón presentó una actividad mayor, con una producción de compuestos indólicos de 172,5 µg/mL. En la actividad nitrogenasa los aislamientos GIBI411, 394 y 399 tuvieron una actividad mayor o similar a la cepa patrón. Los aislamientos más eficientes en la solubilización de fosfato tricálcico fueron GIBI378 y 385. La solubilización de fosfato de aluminio se valoró por el índice de producción de ácido, siendo los aislamientos GIBI378, 391, 387 y 388 los de mejor comportamiento en esta variable. Los aislamientos encontrados son candidatos potenciales para desarrollar nuevos procesos biotecnológicos para la producción de nuevos biofertilizantes alternativos, considerando las importantes propiedades de promoción del crecimiento vegetal determinadas en este trabajo.</text>

                <text>Las investigaciones más comunes en ecología microbiana, han sido orientadas a las interacciones microbio-planta desde el punto de vista simbiótico y de patogénico. Las bacterias endófitas colonizan el interior de los tejidos de las plantas, principalmente espacios intercelulares, raramente en espacios intracelulares y dentro de tejidos vasculares sin causar síntomas de enfermedad en la planta. La penetración en la planta puede ocurrir por estomas, heridas, áreas de emergencia de raíces laterales, siendo que estas bacterias pueden producir enzimas hidrolíticas capaces de degradar la pared celular de los vegetales. Estudios moleculares reciente sobre diversidad de bacterias endófitas han revelado una alta riqueza de filotipos, que promueven el crecimiento de las planta, suprimen fitopatógenos, ayudan a remover contaminantes, solubilizan fosfato y contribuyen a la asimilación biológica de nitrógeno.</text>

                <text>Los páramos brindan servicios ambientales fundamentales a la población, por la continua provisión de agua, en cantidad y en calidad y el almacenamiento de carbono atmosférico, que ayuda a regular el calentamiento global. Estos ecosistemas están sufriendo irreparables transformaciones, que controlan directa o indirectamente la estructura de las comunidades de microorganismos, cuya actividad es esencial para el mantenimiento de los ciclos biogeoquímicos. Se evaluó la diversidad de bacterias heterótrofas y oligotróficas, en los horizontes A, AB y B, de zonas conservadas y de zonas intervenidas en el Páramo de la Cortadera, en tres áreas de muestreo, ubicadas en los municipios de Siachoque, Pesca y Toca. El número de bacterias heterótrofas aeróbicas totales y bacterias oligotróficas, se estimaron como unidades formadoras de colonias, sembrándose en Agar TSA + Nistatina y Agar MSC-MSH, a 30°C, por 48 horas. Los suelos tienen una textura franco arcilloso, con pH ácido, bajo contenido de materia orgánica y altos niveles de P, aislándose los géneros Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Lactobacillus, Bacillus y Klebsiella, y bacterias oligotróficas de los géneros Caulobacter y Hyphomicrobium, siendo Pesca la zona más diversa del Páramo de La Cortadera. Dicha diversidad podría estar influenciada por una amplia gama de factores bióticos y abióticos, que se puede ver afectada por cambios ambientales o alteraciones antrópicas.</text>

                <text>El uso de los microorganismos del suelo y sus interacciones benéficas con las plantas y el ecosistema, son una estrategia promisoria para lograr una agricultura sustentable. Debido a la alta frecuencia de detección del glifosato en suelos agrícolas de Argentina y particularmente en la región pampeana, y a su efecto negativo sobre microorganismos benéficos; el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivos aislar y caracterizar bacterias del suelo con capacidad para solubilizar fósforo y para tolerar/ degradar el herbicida glifosato y evaluar sus potencialidades promotoras del crecimiento vegetal en plantas de maíz híbrido. Se aislaron un total de 9 cepas bacterianas provenientes de un suelo agrícola y uno prístino de la localidad de Balcarce (Buenos Aires, Argentina) que solubilizaron P en un rango de 249-973 μg mL-1 en medio con fosfato tricálcico. De ellas, tres cepas (denominadas P1, A2 y P12) crecieron en presencia de glifosato y evidenciaron la capacidad de degradarlo al ser cultivadas en medio con el herbicida como única fuente de P. Se destaca que la cepa P12 disminuyó la concentración inicial de glifosato en un 30% en un período de 72 horas. Las cepas fueron identificadas como Enterobacterias por secuenciación parcial del gen ARN ribosomal 16S (géneros Pantoea y Enterobacter). Un ensayo de inoculación, utilizando separadamente dos suelos de la provincia de Buenos Aires como sustrato: Arroyo Corto y Líbano; evidenció que las cepas A2 y P12 mostraron las mejores respuestas a la inoculación y produjeron un aumento significativo del contenido de materia aérea seca y fresca en las plantas de maíz, respectivamente. Estas cepas resultan promisorias como bioinoculantes y serán necesarios posteriores estudios para potenciar sus funciones en inoculaciones a campo. Este trabajo constituye el primer reporte de Enterobacterias degradadoras de glifosato aisladas de suelos argentinos.</text>

                <text>O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos da inoculação de bactérias promotoras de crescimento sobre a formação de mudas pré-brotadas de cana-de-açúcar, oriundas de gemas individualizadas, e quantificar o crescimento inicial dessas mudas, em associação à aplicação de nitrogênio, em solo de baixa fertilidade. Foram conduzidos dois experimentos: um em casa de vegetação, com duração de 50 dias, e o outro, em vasos no campo, com duração de 180 dias. Em ambos os experimentos, utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos ao acaso, em arranjo fatorial 2x3, no primeiro experimento - com ou sem inoculante, e com três quantidades de reserva nas gemas -, e 2x2x4, no segundo - com ou sem inoculante, com ou sem nitrogênio, avaliados em quatro épocas: aos 45, 90, 135 e 180 dias. O inoculante produziu efeito na fase inicial de crescimento das mudas pré-brotadas, com aumento na velocidade de brotação e no acúmulo da matéria seca de raízes e da parte aérea, independentemente da quantidade de reserva da gema. No segundo experimento, o inoculante promoveu ganhos no crescimento inicial da parte aérea e do sistema radicular, até os 180 dias após o transplantio, com aumento em altura, perfilhamento, diâmetro do colmo, produção da matéria seca de colmos e de palha e do comprimento radicular, independentemente da aplicação de nitrogênio. O inoculante tem efeito fisiológico positivo sobre o crescimento das plantas.</text>

                <text>Las rizobacterias son un vasto y muy diverso grupo de bacterias que habitan en las inmediaciones de las raíces. Estas desarrollan relaciones tanto benéficas, neutrales e incluso perjudiciales, aunque estas últimas en menor medida. Las interacciones entre las bacterias y las raíces de las plantas han jugado un papel determinante en la adaptación y productividad de las especies vegetales a través del tiempo. Diversos estudios ponen en evidencia que las rizobacterias han mejorado el crecimiento, la producción y la salud de las plantas, directamente: mediante mecanismos que incluyen la asimilación de nutrientes vitales como la fijación de nitrógeno, solubilización de fósforo y potasio, y la fitoestimulación mediante la producción de diversas fitohormonas; e indirectamente: afectando el crecimiento de importantes fitopatógenos, activando la inmunidad en las plantas y mejorando los problemas ocasionados por estrés abiótico. Por su diversidad metabólica las rizobacterias podrían contribuir positivamente en la mejora de la productividad agrícola y la solución de problemas ambientales ocasionados por los métodos utilizados en la agricultura actual. Diversos géneros como: Acidithiobacillus, Aminobacter, Arthrobacter, Azoarcus, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Bacillus, Burkholderia, Clostridium, Enterobacter, Gluconoacetobacter, Pseudomonas, Serratia y Sphingomonas han demostrado su enorme capacidad promotora de crecimiento. Esta revisión proporciona un enfoque sobre los mecanismos mediante los cuales las rizobacterias mejoran el crecimiento de las plantas, su contribución en la agricultura sustentable y su comercialización, un campo que continúa en constante crecimiento.</text>

                <text>Foodborne pathogens are one of the main concerns in public health, which can have a serious impact on community health and health care systems. Contamination of foods by bacterial pathogens (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococci, Legionella pneumophila, Escherichia coli, Campylobacter jejuni and Salmonella typhimurium) results in human infection. A typical example is the current issue with Coronavirus, which has the potential for foodborne transmission and ruling out such concerns is often difficult. Although, the possible dissemination of such viruses via the food chain has been raised. Standard bacterial detection methods require several hours or even days to obtain the results, and the delay may result in food poisoning to eventuate. Conventional biochemical and microbiological tests are expensive, complex, time-consuming and not always reliable. Therefore, there are urgent demands to develop simple, cheap, quick, sensitive, specific and reliable tests for the detection of these pathogens in foods. Recent advances in smart materials, nanomaterials and biomolecular modeling have been a quantum leap in the development of biosensors in overcoming the limitations of a conventional standard laboratory assay.                 <text>Foodborne pathogens are one of the main concerns in public health, which can have a serious impact on community health and health care systems. Contamination of foods by bacterial pathogens (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococci, Legionella pneumophila, Escherichia coli, Campylobacter jejuni and Salmonella typhimurium) results in human infection. A typical example is the current issue with Coronavirus, which has the potential for foodborne transmission and ruling out such concerns is often difficult. Although, the possible dissemination of such viruses via the food chain has been raised. Standard bacterial detection methods require several hours or even days to obtain the results, and the delay may result in food poisoning to eventuate. Conventional biochemical and microbiological tests are expensive, complex, time-consuming and not always reliable. Therefore, there are urgent demands to develop simple, cheap, quick, sensitive, specific and reliable tests for the detection of these pathogens in foods. Recent advances in smart materials, nanomaterials and biomolecular modeling have been a quantum leap in the development of biosensors in overcoming the limitations of a conventional standard laboratory assay. This research aimed to critically review bacteriophage-based biosensors, used for the detection of foodborne pathogens, as well as their trends, outcomes and challenges are discussed.
