Todas las obras hidráulicas que requiere la sociedad se planean y dimensionan con base en las crecientes de diseño. Su estimación más confiable se realiza a través del análisis de frecuencias (AF), que consiste en ajustar una función de distribución de probabilidades (FDP) a los datos disponibles de gastos máximos anuales, para obtener las predicciones buscadas. La FDP Log-Normal de tres parámetros de ajuste (LN3) fue la primera de aplicación extensa en los análisis hidrológicos; las otras dos utilizadas han sido establecidas bajo precepto para los AF de crecientes, la Log-Pearson tipo III (LP3) en EUA y la General de Valores Extremos (GVE) en Inglaterra. Por otra parte, los efectos del cambio climático y las alteraciones físicas de las cuencas por urbanización y deforestación originan en los registros crecientes tendencias ascendentes; en cambio, la construcción de embalses genera tendencias descendentes. Debido a lo anterior, los datos citados son no estacionarios y su AF requiere de FDP que vayan cambiando con el tiempo, como covariable. Cuando el parámetro de ubicación y la media varían con el tiempo, en la función de cuantiles de la distribución LN3, se obtiene su modelo no estacionario, denominado LN31. Si la media y la varianza cambian con el tiempo, en la función de cuantiles del modelo probabilístico LP3, se desarrolla su versión no estacionaria designada LP31. En cambio, cuando los parámetros de ajuste del modelo GVE cambian con el tiempo se obtiene su versión no estacionaria, denominada GVE1. En este estudio se procesan dos registros con tendencia ascendente: uno de 77 gastos máximos anuales y otro de 58 valores de precipitación máxima diaria anuales. Se analizan los resultados y la selección de predicciones se basa en el menor error estándar de ajuste. Las conclusiones destacan la sencillez del método expuesto en el AF de series de datos hidrológicos extremos con tendencia, a través de los modelos LN31, LP31 y GVE1.

El autor Figueroa-Gallegos (2017) escribió una nota técnica en la cual estudia los índices de cambio climático en la cuenca RD30Gl del Río Grande Comitán en el estado de Chiapas. Desde el epígrafe surge la deliberación académica sobre esta nota técnica. La cuenca del Río Grande Comitán no es una cuenca en la terminología hidrográfica como el título lo refiere, sino una subcuenca ubicada en la región hidrológica RH 30 Grijalva-Usumacinta, en la subregión 30C Usumacinta, insertada en la subcuenca del río Lacantún. El estudio que el autor ejecutó en la subcuenca RD30Gl Río Grande está enmarcado en el calentamiento global, desde la perspectiva del cambio climático, basado en una definición no vigente del IPCC (2007) que cita de forma literal en la introducción de su trabajo: “…la variación del estado del clima, que puede deberse a procesos internos naturales, a forzamientos externos o a cambios antropogénicos persistentes de la composición de la atmósfera”. La definición de cambio climático vigente la actualizó la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) en el año 2014: “… es el cambio de clima atribuido directa o indirectamente a la actividad humana que altera la composición de la atmósfera global que se suma a la variabilidad natural del clima observada durante períodos de tiempo comparables (IPCC, 2014)”. Ésta elimina los forzamientos externos enunciados por el IPPC (2007) e introduce tres elementos notables: 1. En primer lugar enuncia que el cambio de clima puede ser atribuido directa o indirectamente a la actividad humana, 2. Que puede alterar la composición de la atmósfera global y 3. Confirma que las comparaciones de la variabilidad climática natural observada deben realizarse en periodos comparables. Como se puede apreciar la fuente del IPCC (2007) citada por el autor no es la más reciente, en una rama de la ciencia en donde de forma periódica y permanente esta institución reporta y actualiza el estado de los avances en los diferentes campos de la misma.

Analisou-se o crescimento dos peixes, a composição das espécies e a produtividade de quatro policultivos (P75, P78, P87 e P207), visando melhorar o manejo e a produtividade pesqueira dos pequenos açudes (0,1-5,0ha) do Semi-Árido brasileiro. Simulou-se as condições desses açudes em viveiros com 120 e 5.000 m² de área, sem renovação de água, utilizando moderada quantidade de adubo e fertilizante. A biomassa inicial variou de 75 a 207kg ha-1, sendo formada por: tilápia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus), curimatã pacu (Prochilodus argenteus), carpa comum (Cyprinus carpio), tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) e tucunaré (Cichla ocellaris). Os peixes apresentaram baixo crescimento (< 0,01g g-1 d-1) após 75 dias de criação (P78 e 87). O crescimento do tambaqui, da tilápia e da curimatã foi reduzido após 53 dias (P75). Em moderada biomassa, o crescimento do tambaqui foi inferior ao da carpa e da curimatã (P207). A produtividade da tilápia atingiu 720 kg ha-1ano-1 (P78), sendo reduzida para 220 kg ha-1ano-1 devido ao processo reprodutivo (P75 e P207). A produtividade da carpa de 1.600 kg ha-1ano-1 foi superior a dos outros peixes (P87). A biomassa inicial de 75 kg ha-1 (60:30:4:3:3% de tilápia, tambaqui, carpa, curimatã e tucunaré, respectivamente) otimizou o crescimento e a produtividade dos peixes. A utilização de tilápias monossexadas e o fornecimento da alimentação suplementar ao tambaqui tornam-se imprescindíveis ao policultivo.The analysed species composition, fish growth, and productivity of four polycultures (P75, P78, P87, and P207) with the objective to improve the small reservoir (0.1-5 ha) fishery management and productivity in the Brazilian semiarid region were conducted a experiment. Exotic fish species has caused several impacts on aquatic biodiversity. The Lago de Pátzcuaro has some well-studied exotic species, except the Lerma livebearer Poeciliopsis infans. This fish species was introduced into the Lago de Pátzcuaro before 1997 and the aspects of its biology are still unknown. In this study we assessed aspects of the trophic ecology of this exotic fish, P. infans, using gut content and stable isotope analysis to understand its capacity to tolerate anthropogenic environmental degradation in the Lago de Pátzcuaro. We also determined its trophic guild position (TP) using the TrophLab Program and stable isotope. Niche breadth was calculated by standardized Levins’ Index (Bi). Fish was captured with a seine during wet and dry seasons at six environmentally different sites and gut contents were obtained. We analyzed a total of 239 gut contents of P. infans. The contribution of each food item in the diet was quantified using frequency of occurrence and area percentage. The importance of each prey item was determined according to the index of relative importance (IRI), and the omnivory index (OI) was used to assess the feeding behavior. Fish were categorized by size and the diet was compared between fish sizes and sites. Dorsal muscle tissue and water hyacinth tissue was obtained for nitrogen isotope signature (δ15N) analysis. Additionally, we measured water and habitat quality to evaluate environmental conditions at each site. We concluded that P. infans is an omnivore (OI=0.28) that consumes mainly detritus (44%), epiphytic diatoms (37%), and secondary on terrestrial insects (6%) and zooplankton (10%). The fish can behave as a specialist (Bi=0.39) or generalist (Bi=0.68) and as a primary consumer (TROPH=2.2; TP=2.3) with a feeding strategy that was the same at different sizes, seasons and sites. None of the evaluated sites showed good environmental quality. We argue that P. infans can tolerate changes in water quality and feeding items availability, because it can exploit resources in multiple trophic webs. However, this species could be dependent on habitat complexity, especially in the aquatic vegetation cover.

En los estudios de crecida en cuencas de régimen nival, la temperatura juega un rol tan importante como la precipitación en la determinación de la magnitud de las mismas, pues define el área pluvial aportante delimitada por la línea de nieves (HLN). En este mismo sentido, la hipsometría de la cuenca es también relevante debido a que determina cuánto porcentaje de área pluvial adicional se tendrá como resultado de pequeñas variaciones de la HLN. En este estudio se analizan los efectos de considerar diferentes combinaciones de elevación de línea de nieves y precipitación, de distinta probabilidad de excedencia, en las crecidas de origen pluvial de 1 000 y 10 000 años de periodo de retorno (T), en una cuenca cordillerana chilena de régimen nival. Se comparan los resultados obtenidos con estudios previos, donde el área pluvial aportante era considerada constante, encontrando una importante dispersión que alcanza variaciones de hasta un 20% respecto a la media del caudal máximo en crecidas de T = 1 000 años, sugiriendo que se incorporen a futuro estas combinaciones para el diseño de grandes obras hidráulicas en cuencas de régimen hidrológico similar. Se examinan además los posibles efectos del cambio climático bajo los escenarios futuros A2 y B1 (2045-2065) en las magnitudes de estas crecidas. En la zona en estudio, en términos de precipitación diaria, se proyecta un incremento de las magnitudes para el evento de T = 1 000 años de hasta un 70% promedio en el escenario B1, y un aumento promedio en la temperatura de +1.8 °C y +1.3 °C en los escenarios A2 y B1, respectivamente. Esto conduciría a incrementos del caudal máximo y del volumen de escorrentía directa de hasta 72 y 84%, respectivamente, para el periodo 2045-2065, variaciones que podrían escapar de un intervalo de confianza de crecidas extremas estimadas en el periodo histórico y dejar al embalse situado a la salida de la cuenca analizada, vulnerable frente a inundaciones en los escenarios de cambio climático.

En el trabajo de investigación se aplicaron bioestimulantes con microelementos en plantas de maracuyá (Passiflora edulis), Sullana – Piura, con el objetivo de evaluar rendimiento, calidad y rentabilidad económica. Se empleó el diseño Bloques Completos al Azar con cinco tratamientos y tres repeticiones, totalizando 15 unidades experimentales de 6 plantas cada una, evaluándose las 4 plantas centrales. Los tratamientos fueron: T0 (sin aplicación), T1 (Fertimar 1 kg.ha-1), T2 (Fertimar 1.5 kg.ha-1), T3 (Stimplex-G 3 L.ha-1) y T4 (Stimplex-G 5 L.ha-1). Las evaluaciones se realizaron hasta la sexta cosecha de frutos con madurez comercial. Los productos bioestimulantes con microelementos aplicados al cultivo de maracuyá tuvieron efecto significativo sobre el volumen de jugo en frutos de maracuyá. El mejor tratamiento fue el T3 (3 L.ha-1 de Stimplex-G ), que permitió obtener un rendimiento de 8 114,86 kg.ha-1 de fruta de maracuyá en las seis primeras cosechas; el mismo efecto se produjo para el número de frutos por planta con un valor de 46 frutos. El Tratamiento de más alta rentabilidad económica fue el T3 (3 L.ha-1 de Stimplex – G), con una relación beneficio/costo de 0,61.

Scientific information on Ucides occidentalis is scarce, and part of these studies have not adequate diffusion, this situation restricts the availability of knowledge about this commercial species. In this work, on the one hand, diverse studies on U. occidentalis are reviewed, and on the other, information obtained from direct observations made since 2011 to 2014 in the Gulf of Guayaquil mangroves, is presented. Notes on changes in the taxonomy of U. occidentalis, its biology, ecological and fishery characteristics are presented. Characteristics to fishing interest such as density data and reproduction periods are discussed. By last, it is discussed the management of fisheries of U. occidentalis in the Gulf of Guayaquil, because in recent decades, U. occidentalis has evidenced a decrease in the landing levels and at the same time, an increase in the average commercial size; this suggest that both factors should be considered in the evaluation of stock, and thereby to have a better approximation on the population status of the resource.

Para el área de la Comunidad Valenciana (España) se dispone de más de 300 series de temperatura diaria de las que sólo 3 cubren por completo el periodo 1948-2011, y una mayoría menos de la mitad de dicho periodo. El presente trabajo busca reconstruir todas las señales térmicas locales que faltan en el periodo completo 1948-2011 a partir del reanálisis NCEP/NCAR en dicho periodo. Para ello se realiza un downscaling estadístico con los datos observados por medio de una ANN. Ello ha permitido detectar patrones locales de cambio climático que han sido consistentes a lo largo del espacio y tiempo. Estos patrones señalan una tendencia mayor al calentamiento en las partes altas de los relieves y áreas de montaña,y menor en el fondo de los valles. El valor del estudio reside en la detección de las áreas potencialmente más vulnerables al cambio térmico, más que en una determinación exacta de una magnitud global de cambio térmico.
