Las ganaderías de trópico bajo enfrentan el desafío de adaptar sus producciones a las consecuencias del cambio climático, que ha generado épocas secas prolongadas y escasez de alimento para los animales en estos periodos. Objetivo. El objetivo de esta revisión bibliográfica fue recopilar y analizar resultados de investigaciones sobre las especies forrajeras arbustivas: Tithonia diversifolia, Gliricidia sepium, Cratylia argentea y Crescentia cujete, como estrategia para mejorar la oferta nutricional en las ganaderías en trópico bajo. Desarrollo. En Colombia, las ganaderías de carne se localizan principalmente en trópico bajo, y suelen tener problemas de alimentación por la pobre calidad de las pasturas y su baja disponibilidad en la época seca. Los sistemas silvopastoriles (SSP) contribuyen a mejorar los indicadores productivos y reproductivos de los animales, ya que integran en diferentes arreglos y estratos, plantas leñosas perennes (árboles y/o arbustivas), leguminosas (rastreras, arbustivas) y pasturas, con una mayor oferta nutricional y forrajera que los sistemas convencionales. Las arbustivas T. diverfisolia, G. sepium, C. argentea, y C. cujete, por sus características multipropósito, producción de biomasa y adaptación a distintas condiciones climáticas y edáficas, han sido usadas en ramoneo, bancos forrajeros, cercas vivas y conservación de forrajes, p. ej. ensilaje. Conclusión. Por sus características, usos, producción de biomasa y perfil nutricional, sería pertinente evaluar el comportamiento de estas especies en estrategias de alimentación en ganaderías en condiciones de trópico bajo. Hoy en día los modelos de circulación general (MCG) de la atmósfera son la principal herramienta para estudiar los cambios climáticos. El Ministerio del Ambiente y de los Recursos Naturales (MARN) lideró en el año 2005 la Primera Comunicación Nacional en Cambio Climático de Venezuela, utilizando salidas de 16 MCGs a escala global (resolución de 5circ°imes 5circ), cuyas proyecciones estiman incrementos para la temperatura y disminución en la precipitación para los próximos años. Cada MCG arroja diferentes resultados generando incertidumbre en la señal del cambio climático futuro. Este trabajo utiliza un enfoque Bayesiano y una extensión del método Reliability Ensemble Average (REA) (Tebaldi et al. 2005), combinando las salidas (presente y futura) de precipitación y temperatura de los 16 MCG con observaciones de las condiciones climáticas actuales, con el fin de determinar las distribuciones de probabilidad del cambio climático futuro para estas dos variables climáticas en nueve regiones de Venezuela. Para el estudio se toman en cuenta dos criterios: sesgo, el cual considera la diferencia entre las salidas de los modelos y el clima actual, y convergencia, que cuantifica las diferencias en los cambios simulados por los múltiples modelos del clima futuro. El principal resultado obtenido del trabajo es que aún existe considerable incertidumbre en las proyecciones de los MCG, ya que estos no incluyen todos los aspectos sobre el funcionamiento del sistema climático. También se pudo establecer que mientras menor sea la variabilidad natural de la variable climática, más efectiva será su proyección.The changing climate is one of the main environmental problems facing humanity, since slight variations in the climate variables might have terrible consequences in the economic activities and human well-being. Nowadays atmospheric Global Circulation Models (GCMs) are the main tools to study changing climate. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MENR) led in 2005 the First Communication in Climate Change of Venezuela, using the outputs of 16 GCMs at a global scale (resolution of 5circ imes 5circ) whose projections estimate increasing temperature and diminishing precipitation in the coming years. Each GCM gives different results, generating uncertainty in the future changing climate signal. This work uses a Bayesian approach and an extension of the Reliability Ensemble Average (REA) (Tebaldi et al. 2005) method, combining the outputs (present and future) of precipitation and temperature of the 16 GCMs with observations of present climate conditions, to determine the probability distributions of future changing climate change for these two climate variables in 9 regions in Venezuela. For this study, two criteria are used: bias, which considers the difference between the model outputs and the present climate; and convergence, which quantifies the differences among the simulated changes of future climate by multiple models. The main result of this work is that a large amount of uncertainty still exists in the GCMs projections, since they as yet do not include all aspects of the climate system functioning. It was also concluded that the lower the natural variability in the climate variable, the more effective is its projection. DESERTIFICATION PANORAMA IN THE NORTHEAST OF BRAZIL: Characteristics and susceptibilities ABSTRACT The desertification process is a phenomenon that affects several areas of the planet Earth, being caused by climatic variations associated to the inadequate use of the soils in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid zones. The research presents an exploratory nature and theoretical basis based on the systemic approach, with a bibliographical survey of articles published in scientific events, periodicals, dissertations and theses, in several areas, but mainly related to Geography. The results allow to affirm the use of different approaches and, therefore, of different results obtained in the research related to desertification. Se realizó una modelación con el programa WEAP para determinar el impacto de los escenarios de cambio climático RCP 4.5 y 8.5 en los recursos hídricos en el periodo 2015- 2030 en el Valle de Galeana, Nuevo León. Se desarrollaron dos escenarios de adaptación: el primero considera una reducción en la demanda hídrica para uso agrícola por cambio de sistemas de riego gradual; el segundo contempla un plan hídrico integral para mejorar la capacidad de infiltración de la zona de recarga mediante programas de reforestación y recuperación de suelos. Los resultados muestran que la situación del acuífero con escenarios de cambio climático y con el uso actual del agua es crítica, pues en ambos escenarios se tendrían afectaciones importantes en el acuífero a partir de 2015, ocurriendo un mínima recarga hacia el acuífero de 0.96 y 1.5% con respecto a su capacidad total durante los meses de lluvia típicos (agosto y septiembre, respectivamente). Considerando el escenario de adaptación de cambio en sistemas de riego, se espera una ligera recuperación a partir del año 2023, alcanzando un máximo de recarga de 3.11 Mm3 en temporada de lluvia. Los resultados del plan hídrico integral, si bien no mantienen una recarga constante y positiva, sí muestran un volumen de recuperación de 27 Mm3 , lo que representa 18.75% de la capacidad máxima de almacenamiento en el sistema; sin embargo, éste disminuye para el mes de diciembre, por lo que no es posible basar el desarrollo de la agricultura en las comunidades de la región con prácticas de alto consumo de agua.
