The study was conducted in a drip-irrigated olive orchard using satellite images (Landsat 7 ETM+), which were acquired on clear sky days during the main phenological stages (2009/10 growing season). The performance of the SW model was evaluated using instantaneous latent heat flux (LE) measurements that were obtained from an eddy correlation system. At the time of satellite overpass, the estimated values of net radiation ( Rn i ) and soil heat flux ( G i ) were compared with ground measurements from a four-way net radiometer and soil heat flux plates, respectively. The results indicated that the SW model subestimated instantaneous LE (W m−2) and daily ET (mm d−1), with errors of 12% and 10% of observed values, respectively. The root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) values for instantaneous LE were 26 and 20 W m−2, while those for daily values of ET were 0.31 and 0.28 mm d−1, respectively. Finally, the submodels computed Rn i and G i with errors of between 4.0% and 8.0% of measured values and with RMSE and MAE between 25 and 39 W m−2. Description An account of the resource Antecedentes: En años recientes la demanda de productos alimenticios percibidos como ''naturales'' se ha incrementado de manera importante, los cuales no contienen dentro de sus ingredientes conservantes o aditivos de origen químico o artificial. Al retirar de la fórmula estos conservantes/aditivos artificiales se puede generar en el producto un medio ideal de crecimiento de bacterias alterantes o patógenas. Esto es particularmente cierto en productos cárnicos procesados empacados al vacío, donde su alta actividad acuosa, bajo pH y un largo periodo de almacenamiento a condiciones de refrigeración generan un ambiente ideal para el crecimiento de microorganismos patógenos como Listeria monocytogenes. Por tanto, esto genera la necesidad de nuevas y efectivas tecnologías que permitan su control y eliminación. Los Bio-Conservantes (adición de bacterias vivas a los productos cárnicos) ofrecen una solución ideal a este tipo de problemas directamente relacionados con la seguridad alimentaria, y a la vez satisfacen la demanda por parte de los consumidores de productos saludables. Objetivos: Determinar si el cultivo C. maltaromaticum CB1 puede controlar el crecimiento de una cepa nativa de L. monocytogenes en morcilla y chorizo empacados al vacío (película de baja permeabilidad al oxigeno). Métodos: Tres lotes diferentes de chorizo y morcilla producidos a nivel industrial fueron posteriormente inoculados con una cepa nativa de L. monocytogenes a un nivel de 10² UFC/g junto con el bio-conservante C. maltaromaticum CB1 a un nivel de 10³ UFC/g. A los tratamientos denominados como control no se les aplicó el bio-conservante. Después de ser empacados al vacío, los productos fueron almacenados a dos temperaturas diferentes de 4°C (refrigeración) y 8°C (abuso de temperatura) durante 35 días. En intervalos de 7 días se hizo recuentos del crecimiento de la L. monocytogenes utilizando agar Oxford. Resultados: Se obtuvo una reducción significativa (P < 0.05) en los recuentos de L. monocytogenes tanto en la morcilla como en el chorizo tratados con bio-conservante C. maltaromaticum CB1 y almacenados a 4°C y 8°C respectivamente, en comparación con los productos denominados control. Conclusiones: La cepa de C. maltaromaticum CB1 demostró ser efectiva en el control del crecimiento de la cepa nativa de L. monocytogenes en chorizo y morcilla. Description An account of the resource El propósito de esta investigación es conocer la dinámica de Schroederia setigera en las escalas espacial y temporal, determinar cuáles son las causas próximas de su dinámica poblacional, y localizar el organismo en el sistema de Asociaciones de Reynolds y en el de Grupos Morfo-Funcionales. La investigación fue efectuada en el embalse Riogrande II (6°35'57'' - 6°28'79'' Norte, 75º32'17'' - 75° 25'85'' Oeste) cuyo tiempo medio de retención es de 72.8 días. En él se muestrearon cinco estaciones a intervalos quincenales durante un año (julio 2002 a julio 2003) en las que se obtuvieron datos de tres variables climáticas, cinco físicas y 15 químicas. Para la especie se calcularon sus tasas media de crecimiento y renovación, el tiempo de generación medio, el tipo de crecimiento, y la disposición espacial y temporal. Para la relación entre las variables biológicas y las ambientales se utilizó un Análisis de Redundancia (RDA). En el tiempo el alga se ajustó a un patrón de tres 'picos' ocurridos en los periodos de menor pluviosidad en los que efectivamente los nutrientes se concentraron, el clima de luz se afectó. En las cinco estaciones la especie estuvo agrupada, y en el espacio su disposición fue aleatoria. Los primeros cuatro ejes del RDA incluyeron NO3-, SiO2, pH, SS, y %SO2, coeficiente de atenuación vertical para irradiancia descendente, Clorofila y diferentes competidores. S. setigera es un estratega tipo C que, al igual que otras clorococales, es un taxón característico de sistema eutróficos, poseedor de altas tasas de crecimiento y de cambio, tiempo de generación relativamente corto, y patrón de distribución temporal de contagio, por ende, regida por una ecología de no-equilibrio, más concentrada en los periodos de menor pluviosidad en los que efectivamente los nutrientes se concentraron y el clima de luz se afectó. En el espacio la especie mostró una distribución aleatoria debida al régimen de corrientes en el embalse. Es además una especie no limitada por recursos, que responde adaptándose al clima óptico del cuerpo de agua con su con su sección circular elíptica, su forma acicular y atenuada hacia ambos extremos, que la sitúan como una buena antena captadora de luz.; por ello, puede incluirse en la asociación J o en la X1 y en el Grupo morfo-funcional IV. Se ha querido por tanto ahondar en un material de común conocimiento y aplicación pero que dosificado con áridos orgánicos provenientes de desechos de la agroindustria, como es el caso de la cascarilla o cisco de café, no se conoce ni su comportamiento mecánico ni sus propiedades térmicas. Se pensó, además, en que siendo Colombia el segundo productor mundial de café, debería estudiarse un subproducto de su beneficio como lo es la cascarilla, para contribuir en la racionalización de sus desperdicios. Fue así como nació esta idea que condujo a revisar literatura al respecto, visitar entidades del ramo como la Federación Nacional de Cafeteros, encontrándose que el tema propuesto de la dosificación de un hormigón con dicho árido no había sido desarrollado anteriormente. Los géneros más diversos son Phlegmariurus (siete especies) y Austrolycopodium (cinco especies). En Argentina la familia está representada por 22 especies distribuidas en las tres subfamilias. La región con mayor riqueza es el noroeste, con nueve especies. En Uruguay la familia está representada por la subfamilia Lycopodielloideae, con cuatro especies pertenecientes a los géneros Lycopodiella (dos especies), Palhinhaea (una especie) y Pseudolycopodiella, representado por Pseudolycopodiella meridionalis. As informações, apesar de abundantes, foram muitas vezes descontextualizadas, genéricas e insuficientemente corretas ou completas. Destacam-se as apresentações dúbias dos dados biológicos e ecológicos, da atribuição à falta de mercado a culpabilidade da problemática, a falta de orientações de ações práticas como manutenção das condições sanitárias dos quintais e higienização, bem como direcionamento para controle em momentos mais efetivos como na fase embrionária. A falta de mensuração oficial dos impactos somado com o desequilíbrio entre a simplicidade e complexidade da linguagem destinada a um público heterogêneo pode conduzir a uma interpretação errônea da informação, comprometendo a percepção do cidadão como corresponsável na solução de um problema de interesse mundial.
