El fríjol es la leguminosa más importante del mundo por su aporte a la seguridad alimentaria y por el alto contenido de proteínas y de minerales esenciales. En américa latina y especialmente en Colombia, el cultivo de fríjol es importante en la economía campesina, pero, en la actualidad, la producción no satisface la demanda, haciendo necesario importar este producto. En la zona ecuatorial y subecuatorial, los suelos, en su mayoría, presentan condiciones ácidas, que conlleva a una baja fertilidad y limitación en la toma de elementos, como el fósforo. Por esto, el uso de fuentes de fósforo no convencionales representa una alternativa en la disponibilidad de este elemento, que mejore la dinámica nutricional y así generar un buen crecimiento y producción de los cultivos. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de un fosfato térmico sobre el crecimiento y el rendimiento del cultivar de fríjol 'ICA Cerinza', bajo condiciones agroecológicas, del municipio de Tunja-Boyacá. Se empleó un diseño completamente al azar, con cuatro tratamientos correspondientes a dosis de fosfato térmico 0, 300, 600 y 900kg ha-1, con cuatro replicaciones. Se evaluó el contenido total de clorofila, área foliar, peso seco de órganos, numero de vainas por planta y granos por vaina, peso de cien granos, rendimiento y contenido foliar de fósforo. Se presentaron diferencias estadísticas entre tratamientos (P≤0,05), para las variables de crecimiento y el número de vainas por planta. La aplicación de 600kg ha-1 de fosfato térmico mostró los mejores resultados, posiblemente, debido a las características del producto, tales como solubilidad y composición, siendo una alternativa en suelos de condiciones moderadamente ácidas.

This article provides a synthesis of the current knowledge on the evolving relation between the Amazon River and the Yahuarcaca lagoon system, through the limnological features and the ecology of phytoplankton in a period of sixteen years. The synthesis of the information was conducted by reviewing existing data about the system, for the time indicated, and analyzing it by means of descriptive statistics and linear correlation between the variables found. Also, it contains a summary of the most important aspects of the first attempt in Colombia to evaluate the influence of the flood pulse on the phytoplankton in a daily time scale. The thermal pattern of this laggon system corresponds to a warm and constant polymicthic lake type according to the de Lewis (1983) classification. The physical, chemical and biological variables examined in this várzea system change according to the hydrologic period. The conductivity, transparency and richness of the phytoplankton increase in the low water season, while the nutrient concentration, and the density, productivity and the biomass of phytoplankton increase during the high water season. Nitrate during the low water season and phosphate during the high water season are the most restricting nutrients. The changes that have taken place through these years in the connectivity between the river and the Yahuarcaca lagoon system are reflected in the dynamics of the structure and composition of the phytoplankton.

La Colección Zoológica Regional (Aves) del Instituto de Historia Natural de Chiapas, México, alberga 7,173 ejemplares que pertenecen a 17 órdenes, 68 familias, 339 géneros y 575 especies. La mayoría de los especimenes son de Chiapas (72.4%), Oaxaca (15.4%) y Veracruz (10.8%). Las familias con mayor número de ejemplares pertenecen a las familias Parulidae (1,432), Tyrannidae (823), Trochilidae (709), Thraupidae (371) y Emberizidae (343). El 90% de los ejemplares están preservados en piel de estudio, el 8% en anatómicos y el 2% en esqueletos. La colección resguarda ejemplares de 126 especies en alguna categoría de riesgo por la normativa ambiental mexicana (10 en peligro de extinción, 41 amenazadas y 75 sujetas a protección especial). Las regiones fisiográficas de Chiapas con mayor representatividad de ejemplares depositados corresponden a la Sierra Madre de Chiapas, la Planicie Costera del Pacífico, las Montañas del Oriente y la región Montañas del Norte. No obstante su importancia regional, la producción científica derivada de su análisis ha sido escasa, por lo que es necesario promover su consulta por parte de investigadores y estudiantes interesados en la distribución geográfica, historia natural y ecología de la avifauna de la región sur-sureste de México.

Dicho modelo, además de que permite cuantificar el rendimiento de las diferentes fases de esta agroindustria, puede servir a los productores y empacadoras como instrumento para presentar ante la Unión Europea, cuando esta viene a certificar los procesos de siembra y recolección en las fincas, así como los procesos de las empacadoras de piña. Asimismo, permite tener controles que ayuden a maximizar su eficiencia y eficacia.

La alimentación es una actividad cotidiana imprescindible para la vida y cargada de significados que refleja y reproduce las relaciones socioeconómicas y políticas de una sociedad. La materialidad de la alimentación actual en la globalización se construye en el imaginario colectivo dominante a partir de tres sesgos fundamentales de la mirada occidental: el antropocentrismo, el etnocentrismo y androcentrismo propios de la patriarcalidad/colonialidad del poder/saber/ser. Este trabajo pretende establecer un diálogo crítico entre la agroecología, los feminismos y la teoría decolonial aplicado al análisis del imaginario alimentario hegemónico con el objetivo de pensar, desde una perspectiva crítica-fronteriza, premisas culturales alternativas que contribuyan a la construcción de propuestas alimentarias sostenibles y justas que superen los tres sesgos fundamentales de la mirada occidental (pre)dominante.

El concepto de deuda ecológica fue presentado por primera vez en la Cumbre de la Tierra en Río de Janeiro en 1992 por el Instituto de Ecología Política de Chile. Inicialmente, el concepto de deuda ecológica estuvo vinculado estrictamente a la destrucción ambiental, provocada principalmente por el modelo de desarrollo neoliberal, el comercio de exportación y la economía financiera. Es por tanto un concepto moderno que evoca la crisis de la deuda externa y la visibilización de los impactos sociales, ambientales y económicos que causa sobre las economías empobrecidas. En este esfuerzo de vincular la deuda ecológica y la migración, la situaremos dentro de la lógica del sistema capitalista mundial. Por tanto, no queremos abordar la temática migratoria como el resultado de una política interna de un país o región en concreto, sino como producto de una estructura de acceso y distribución de beneficios históricamente no equitativa entre los países del centro y sus periferias. También ubicaremos el proceso migratorio dentro de la matriz racial que es, al mismo tiempo, la constitutiva de la modernidad europea. Por lo tanto, uno de los enfoques utilizados será el de la justicia distributiva.

En el presente trabajo se reflexiona sobre el crowdsourcing, término que acuñó Jeff Howe en el año 2006 y su relevancia para las bibliotecas. Si bien no existe consenso entre los autores para definir este término, se examinan los principales elementos que permiten describirlo y caracterizarlo junto con algunos ejemplos generales. Se analizan las razones para su aplicación en nuestro ámbito y algunas recomendaciones en base a experiencias de otras instituciones. Además, se describen algunos proyectos exitosos. Se discuten sus ventajas dadas por el vínculo de pertenencia que se crea con el público, la posibilidad de cumplir con objetivos pendientes, el sentido de responsabilidad hacia las colecciones y un mayor acceso, así como sus obstáculos centrados en la pérdida del control y de poder de los bibliotecarios frente a los prosumidores. Más allá de las dificultades que presenta, es una herramienta con un gran potencial para que las bibliotecas tengan mayor visibilidad, se posicionen mejor en la sociedad y se asegure su perdurabilidad en el largo plazo.

El objetivo fue llevar a cabo una reflexión sobre la Teoría de Convertirse Humano de Rosemarie Rizzo Parse, así como el diseño de un marco teórico aplicado al proceso de cuidar en enfermería ecológica. Es una reflexión crítica interpretativa, en que se utilizó el método de evaluación propuesto por Meleis, limitada a la etapa de descripción, que considera la identificación de los componentes estructurales y funcionales. Esta estrategia nos ha permitido subsidiar el reflejo de la teoría interpretativa de convertirse Humano en el contexto de la enfermería ecológica. Por lo tanto, ha sido posible dirigir la atención a los significados de la salud y la calidad de vida de la persona, para la priorización de los valores y los cuidados de enfermería en el área de ecología.

Household food insecurity (HFI) may increase obesity risk, but results are not consistent across the life course or between developed/underdeveloped settings. The objective of this paper is to review findings from previous analyses in Brazil among adult women, female adolescents, and children up to five. Data were derived from the 2006 Brazilian Demographic and Health Survey. Associations between HFI (measured with the Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale) and excess weight/obesity were investigated through Poisson regression models. While severe HFI was associated with obesity risk among adult women (PR: 1.49; 95%CI: 1.17-1.90), moderate HFI was associated with excess weight among female adolescents (PR: 1.96; 95%CI: 1.18-3.27). There was no association between HFI and obesity among children (either boys or girls). The nutrition transition in Brazil may be shaping the differential deleterious effect of HFI on body fat accumulation across the life course; the association is already evident among female adolescents and adult women but still not among children.La inseguridad alimentaria (IA) puede aumentar el riesgo de obesidad, pero los resultados no son consistentes en todas las fases del transcurso de la vida y entre países desarrollados/subdesarrollados. El objetivo de este artículo es revisar los resultados de los análisis anteriores con los datos brasileños de: mujeres adultas, adolescentes del sexo femenino y niños de hasta cinco años. Se utilizaron datos del Estudio Nacional de Demografía y Salud 2006. Asociaciones entre la IA, medida por la Escala Brasileña de Inseguridad Alimentaria y exceso de peso/obesidad se investigaron mediante modelos de regresión de Poisson. Una IA grave está asociada con obesidad entre mujeres adultas [RP: 1,49; IC95%: 1,17-1,90] y una IA moderada con exceso de peso entre adolescentes del sexo femenino [RP: 1,96; IC95%: 1,18-3,27]. No hubo asociación entre la IA y la obesidad en niños de ambos sexos. Es posible que el proceso de transición nutricional en Brasil modele el efecto deletéreo de la IA en el acúmulo de grasa corporal a lo largo del transcurso de la vida, existiendo una asociación evidente entre adolescentes y adultas, sin embargo, todavía no entre niños.A insegurança alimentar (IA) pode aumentar o risco de obesidade, mas os resultados não são consistentes para todos os estágios do curso da vida e entre países desenvolvidos/subdesenvolvidos. Utilizaram-se dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Demografia e Saúde 2006. Associações entre IA, medida pela Escala Brasileira de Insegurança Alimentar e excesso de peso/obesidade foram investigadas por modelos de regressão de Poisson.
