El presente estudio brinda información sobre su estructura poblacional y distribución espacial en dos localidades: Dibulla (Guajira) y Santa Catalina (Bolívar), en el Caribe colombiano. Se realizaron seis parcelas en la Guajira y una parcela en Bolívar, cada una de 10 000 m2. Se censaron y midieron todos los individuos, tomando variables que permitieron clasificarlos en seis categorías de tamaño, además se georeferenciaron para poder realizar mapas que muestren la distribución espacial de los individuos. Las poblaciones de Brosimum alicastrum en las dos localidades se comportan de forma diferente. La distribución de los individuos en las diferentes categorías de tamaño permite distinguir tres tipos de patrones de estructura poblacional, los patrones tipo I y tipo II se encontraron en la Guajira y el Patrón tipo III, en Bolívar. La distribución espacial es agregada para la Guajira y uniforme para Bolívar. Ecological economy is the branch of the economics science that analyzes the social relationships starting from the consideration of the physical flows of energy and materials. And this principle, basically,distinguishes it from other areas of economics sucha s political economy that bases its analyzes in a monetary, economical value, and prices view. In the present paper we intend to establish the main points or reference tenros for an economical-ecological analysis of the effective conditions and tendencies in the Island of Santa Catarina. Taking into account some empirical evidences, we argue in the direction of a work hypothesis that, inreality,contradicts predominant visions. The recent evolution and tendencies observed empirically would demonstrate that Florianópolis, in fact, is an anti-ecological capital. El uso de plantas comestibles sigue siendo una práctica vigente y su importancia se puede ver en muchos mercados tradicionales. Las plantas comestibles locales son un recurso alternativo en las dietas de poblaciones indígenas y rurales; forman parte de la biodiversidad local y son una fuente importante de recursos fitogenéticos, además de que la ingesta de una dieta variada tiene beneficios en la salud de la población que la consume. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las plantas alimenticias locales de una comunidad indígena clasificada como de muy alta marginación . Se encontró una diversidad de especies comestibles locales que contribuyen a la dieta de la comunidad. Se registró 54 especies pertenecientes a 46 géneros y 31 familias. Estas plantas tienen las cualidades de ser accesibles para la población y haberse adaptado al medio ambiente local. Es un estudio cualitativo basado en la etnografía feminista que busca la comprensión de la interseccionalidad género-etnia en la producción de maíz nativo. Como técnica de investigación se realizaron veintidós entrevistas semiestructuradas, aplicadas a siete hombres y quince mujeres, miembros de la comunidad de San Francisco Oxtotilpan, Estado de México, que participan en actividades agrícolas relacionadas con los maíces nativos. Los resultados agrupan tres preocupaciones: variabilidad climática, perspectivas de mejora de la situación socioeconómica y arribo de nuevos paquetes biotecnológicos. Asimismo, se discuten las perspectivas sobre el futuro del maíz nativo. Se concluye que para el pueblo matlatzinca el maíz nativo es eje de identidad, y a la vez un recurso de control económico y social, que para ser preservado requiere que los principios de igualdad de género y etnia permanezcan.
