Global effects were obtained for hypertension (OR: 4.05; 95 % CI: 3.45-4.74), cardiovascular disease (OR: 4.39; 95 % CI: 3.29-5.87), diabetes mellitus (OR: 3.53; 95 % CI: 2.79-4.47), smoking (OR: 2.87; 95 % CI: 1.81-4.54), chronic lung disease (OR: 2.73; 95 % CI: 2.55-2.94), chronic kidney disease (OR: 5.60; 95 % CI: 4.13-7.60), chronic liver disease (OR: 1.98; 95 % CI: 1.08-3.64), and immunodeficiency (OR: 2.90; 95 % CI: 2.06-4.09) in severe patients compared with non-severe patients.Conclusions: Chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and diabetes are among the comorbidities with the highest risk of severe clinical presentation in COVID-19 patients, followed in importance by immunodeficiency, smoking, chronic lung disease and chronic liver disease. In this framework, this contribution aims to identify spatial relationships occurring between BHRs and short-term rentals (STRs), i.e., a recent economic phenomenon facilitated by platforms such as Airbnb. Through the application of Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis techniques and taking Turin (Italy) as a case study, this article provides evidence that spatial correlation patterns between BHRs and STRs exist, and that the areas most affected by STRs are the residential neighborhoods located in the proximity of the historic center of the city. This paper is based on the premise of transformative learning theories [1], which describe the learners’ authority and investment over their learning. Quantitative research was carried out using a survey that was sent out to 283 students enrolled at one higher education institution in KSA. These data were analyzed using SPSS. Average Mean Score (AMS) was used for data analysis, where the results are validated using the Standard Deviation (SD), Skewness and Kurtosis test, and Cronbach Alpha test. The research findings revealed that the students are satisfied with the university staff and faculty members who agreed on specific online platforms to use, grading system, assessment options, training workshops, online technical support, and more. The research findings also showed that participants were highly satisfied with Google Hangouts the most for lecture delivery, followed by Google Classroom and LMS (Moodle) for course management and assessments. With only respect to the students’ online learning experiences, the COVID-19 situation within this study context was handled adequately. This study calls for further research into the integration of professional development workshops and practical training courses for online learning and teaching to endorse innovative teaching techniques and alternative assessment plans for instructors, learners, administrators, and policymakers.
