A percepção dos agricultores foi importante para construir relações com a natureza durante a implantação e manejo dos sistemas agroflorestais (SAF), no entanto, reconhecemos que essa percepção precisa ser mais bem investigada. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foram realizadas abordagens quantitativa e qualitativa, aplicadas entrevistas com roteiro semiestruturado, realizadas caminhadas transversais com observação direta e anotações em um diário de campo. Analisaram-se os dados pela estatística descritiva no programa SPSS 19.0. As percepções dos agricultores sobre os SAF são distintas. O caráter ambiental é considerado pelos agricultores familiares, devido sua visão histórico-cultural de manejo dos sistemas e por identificarem a necessidade de sombreamento e valorização dos serviços ecossistêmicos. Já os agricultores empresariais baseiam-se em observações econômicas. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar el desempeño ambiental y las potencialidades de aplicación de mecanismos de producciones más limpias (PML) en la Asociación de productores de cacao fino de aroma “Tsatsayaku”. Las herramientas de PML utilizadas fueron la revisión ambiental inicial, ecomapas, y análisis del proceso. Los resultados muestran que la generación de mucilago y cascarilla son los principales problemas ambientales del proceso. Se propusieron y evaluaron 2 opciones de mejora para controlar y disminuir la contaminación del proceso. El análisis muestra una relación B/C de 1.38 y el Valor Actual Neto es de $ 36,001.37 con una Tasa Interna de Retorno de 249.29%. Finalmente, la aplicación de prácticas y tecnologías enmarcadas en sistemas de PML puede optimizar la utilización de materias primas y reducir los contaminantes sólidos y líquidos generados. Se evaluó tres genotipos provenientes de embriones cigóticos y dos genotipos de selección a campo caracterizados como tolerante (T) y resistente (R) a P. opuntiae. Se inoculó plántulas de Opuntia in vitro con el extracto extracelular y una suspensión de 108 conidios ml, se evaluó el daño a los 15, 30, 45 y 60 días posterior a la inoculación (dpi). Después de 60 dpi se presentaron los síntomas en explantes inoculados con el hongo puro, mientras los productos de excreción del hongo en medio líquido mostraron capacidad de provocar síntomas similares al inóculo fúngico. Estos resultados demuestran que P. opuntiae infecta explantes de Opuntia bajo condiciones de cultivo in vitro, lo que podría ser una herramienta importante en la selección de genotipos resistentes de Opuntia sps a la mancha negra.
