                <text>This article reflects on the endeavor of family farmers Settlement Project Belo Horizonte (BH PA), located in southeast Pará, to 'keep' their collective identity and build of the territory of living from 30 years. The productive trajectories chosen by families, the height of productive systems, their decline, as well as the implementation of alternative production activities, show the dynamics of construction of the identity and the territory by family farmers. The build of diversified productive system, of the territoriality and the corresponding identity, make us reflect about the ethnicity situation of the group for to fight the appreciation and recognition of difference against universalizing public policies, socio-cultural diversity in the Territory Southeastern Pará-Brazil. The analysis is based on direct intervention experiences with the group, interviews with key people (events of the protagonists), direct observation and the notion of ethnodevelopment.</text>

Los caldos se analizaron química y microbiológicamente y se aplicaron a materas, en concentración del 10% a los 20, 40 y 60 días del trasplante. El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar con cinco tratamientos y 30 repeticiones. Las variables evaluadas fueron número y longitud de hojas y diámetro y peso del bulbo. El análisis químico mostró que cada caldo contiene una gran variedad de nutrimentos que son esenciales para la nutrición equilibrada de la planta. Por su parte, el análisis microbiológico indicó que cada caldo representa una fuente muy importante de microorganismos benéficos, especialmente el caldo rizósfera por su mayor población de hongos y de bacterias totales, fijadoras de N&amp;lt;sub&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sub&amp;gt; y solubilizadoras de fósforo. En cuanto a los efectos sobre el crecimiento del cultivo, cada caldo por separado igualó al testigo químico y superó a la mezcla de los dos y al testigo absoluto. Sin embargo, los valores de conductividad eléctrica indican que se debe tener especial cuidado con el número de aplicaciones. Razón por la cual se recomienda que los dos biofertilizantes se apliquen semanalmente, como suplemento de la fertilización, en secuencia rotativa y en integración con prácticas agronómicas que permitan mantener niveles adecuados de materia orgánica, para asegurar la multiplicación y actividad no solamente de los microorganismos introducidos por medio de los biofertilizantes sino también de las poblaciones nativas del suelo.&amp;#13; &amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;</text>

                <text>Este artigo compara os principais resultados do censo agropecuário do IBGE de 1996 com os resultados do censo de 2006, seguindo a metodologia conhecida como 'FAO-Incra' que permite caracterizar a agricultura familiar delimitando-a no universo total dos estabelecimentos. Na comparação destacam-se algumas variáveis significativas, tais como participação no valor da produção total (VBP), participação na área total dos estabelecimentos, utilização de tecnologia moderna e produtividade parcial de fatores.Os censos mostram que a participação na produção agropecuária se manteve praticamente inalterada, passando de 37,91% em 1996 para 36,11% em 2006, numa década de forte expansão do setor, o que revela que este segmente faz parte das cadeias produtivas agropecuárias do agronegócio brasileiro. A agricultura familiar é um segmento heterogêneo, com diversos subsegmentos. Nos dez anos de pesquisa percebe-se que houve forte crescimento da participação na produção do segmento mais abastado da agricultura familiar (A) e um crescimento numérico dos grupos mais pobres da mesma (C e D), sem o correspondente acréscimo de produção.</text>

                <text>This work was intended to understand the rural youth as a protagonist, and how this protagonism may point out paths or incidences for development, which we will address here on 'local development.' The study concerns a concrete situation, a reality, which is the way in which rural youth is inserted. Methodologically, the debate was anchored from a bibliographical review. The analysis used to base the discussions and analyzes of the central themes was: on Local Development, from the perspective of Franco (1998), Jara (2001), Buarque (2002) and Tauk Santos (2013); the rural context was based on Veiga (2002) and Wanderley (2013); and the theme of rural youth were anchored from Castro (2008), Carneiro (1998), Abramo (1997), Wanderley (2007) and Martin-Barbero (2008). One of the conclusions of this research was that the protagonism allows the valorization and mobilization of the rural youths as endogenous energies, making them be references to the community and other youths. At the same time, it provides them with political and institutional spaces and also dialogues with other external local actors in the community. All these questions are clues and indications that the protagonism of rural youth favors the construction of local development in the community.</text>

                <text>A azadiractina consiste no óleo obtido a partir de sementes secas de Azadirachta indica A. Juss. (Família: Meliaceae). Trata-se de um biopesticida para controle de pragas na agricultura e, portanto, um agente 'eco-amigável' para a agricultura orgânica. Contudo, os resíduos dos pesticidas, incluindo os biopesticidas, podem causar efeitos deletérios a organismos que não são o seu alvo. Assim, o presente trabalho pretende investigar o efeito genotóxico da azadiractina no meio aquoso em amostras de peixes conhecidos como Paulistinha ou Zebra-fish (Danio rerio - Hamilton 1822). As concentrações da azadiractina de 8, 16 e 32 vezes as taxas mais baixas de produtos comerciais formulados foram testadas durante 7 dias. Os efeitos de genotoxicidade foram avaliados através de Ensaio Cometa obtendo Frequência de Dano (FD) e Índice de Dano (ID) utilizando eritrócitos do D. rerio. A Análise de Sobrevivência avaliou a taxa de mortalidade em exemplares remanescentes do EC. Os resultados sugerem um aumento significativo de FD e ID em relação ao controle negativo (D. rerio não expostos), mesmo após 7 dias de exposição. Além disso, todos os espécimes expostos morreram dentro de uma semana após o final do EC. A utilização do biopesticida azadiractina deve ser realizada com precaução para não aumentar a contaminação ambiental, especialmente nos ecossistemas aquáticos.</text>

                <text>The food processing activities have emerged as important issues within the RuralDevelopment area, especially in the mid-1990s. When considering the history, these activities haveevolved over time. Farmers have adopted new practices and processes influenced by a set ofknowledge and technical skills. This article aims to present a proposal for a typology to characterizethe trajectory of food processing activities, using as empirical context reality four regions of RioGrande do Sul, Brazil. 64 families were interviewed (family farmers) who process food, using asemi-structured form, observations and field diaries to collect data. For data analysis, we used thequalitative technique called content analysis that guided the construction of typologies. Fourdistinct groups of families were identified, which depict the diversity of their trajectories. The maindifferences between the groups is relate to: the objectives of the families, the way started andchanged the production, by using technical knowledge. The typology allows greater knowledgeabout the 'universe' diversity that characterizes these activities in Rio Grande do Sul, contributingto the reflection on the interventions advocated by the programs and policies for family farming.</text>

Suspensions of 106 and 108 cells/mL for each of the strains studied and applied in two separate trials: the first with seeds and the second with seedlings 35 days of age gliricidia. In the seed test is calculated the cumulative percentage of germination for 7 days. In both trials after 42 days in seeds and seedlings 52 days in length was measured and stem diameter, leaf number, dry weight of aerial parts, number of nodules/plant and percentage of nitrogen. All treatments stimulated germination, growth and BNF, being better in the native strains at a concentration of 108 cells/mL, compared with the commercial strain and the control. These results indicate the positive effect exerted by &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;Rhizobium &amp;lt;/em&amp;gt;sp., in promoting growth and BNF, which could be used for further studies to establish the production of a biofertilizer, allowing potentiate the production of crops by gliricidia for food arich cattle as source of protein in the Caribbean Biotechnology Center.&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;</text>

                <text>El objetivo de este trabajo es proveer los conocimientos básicos y los principios técnicos necesarios para el uso correcto del GreenSeeker' en aplicaciones agrícolas como la fertilización nitrogenada, la dosifi cación del riego, el mapeo de los campos agrícolas y la agricultura de precisión. Se describe el instrumento y las bases físicas y fi siológicas que respaldan su uso en la agricultura, además de las propiedades radiativas de las superfi cies vegetales, y la refl exión de la luz en cultivos sanos y vigorosos comparados con plantas estresadas. Se discuten las posibles aplicaciones del GreenSeeker en el diagnóstico y la corrección de diversos tipos de estrés y otros 'desórdenes' experimentados por los cultivos en el campo, en tiempo real, y acorde con la heterogeneidad espacial siempre presente de los agroecosistemas tropicales. Se incluyen las limitaciones de la tecnología disponible actualmente y las perspectivas para su uso en otros cultivos tropicales, además del arroz y el maíz.</text>

                <text>The term 'organically grown food' denotes products that have been produced in accordance with the principles and practices of organic agriculture. The use of alternatives to synthetic fertilizers is an important issue in organic systems. A two-year field experiment to evaluate effects of organic fertilizers on the yield and quality of open field grown tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) was carried out in Southern Turkey in 2000 and 2001. Combinations of manure, blood flour and micronutrient preparations were used for fertilization, and conventional mineral fertilization was included as the control. Yield did not differ between the fertilization and the Conventional treatments in the first year of the study, but the highest yield was obtained from conventional in the second year. No differences were found between treatments in terms of fruit soluble sugar content or citric acid. The application of organic fertilizers positively affected the micronutritional element content of tomato fruits compared to the conventional treatment. Organic fertilization results in improved yield and fruit quality compared to conventional fertilization. In addition, organic fertilization should be supported in order to facilitate reuse and disposal of organic wastes and to maintain and/or increase soil fertility.O termo 'alimentos cultivados organicamente' denota produtos que tenham sido produzidos em conformidade com os princípios e práticas da agricultura orgânica. O uso de alternativas para fertilizantes sintéticos é uma questão importante em sistemas orgânicos. Um experimento de campo foi conduzido no sul da Turquia em 2000 e 2001 para avaliar os efeitos da adubação orgânica na produtividade e na qualidade de tomates (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill), cultivados em campo aberto. Combinações de esterco, farinha de sangue e preparações de micronutrientes foram utilizados para a fertilização, e adubações minerais convencionais foram incluídas como controle. A produção não diferiu entre a fertilização e os tratamentos convencionais no primeiro ano do estudo, porém uma maior produtividade foi obtida a partir do sistema convencional, no segundo ano. Não foram encontradas diferenças entre os tratamentos em termos de teor de açúcares solúveis ou ácido cítrico em frutos. A aplicação de fertilizantes orgânicos afetou positivamente o conteúdo dos elementos micronutritionais dos frutos do tomateiro em relação ao tratamento convencional. A adubação orgânica resultou em maior produtividade e qualidade dos frutos, quando comparada à adubação convencional, e deve ser apoiada, a fim de facilitar a reutilização e eliminação de resíduos orgânicos bem como para manter e/ou aumentar a fertilidade do solo.</text>
