Los tratamientos fueron 500, 1.000, 1.500 y 2.000 kg.ha-1 de bocashi más 200 kg.ha-1 de lombriabono, un tratamiento testigo absoluto y un testigo químico. Los datos se colectaron a los 240 días después de establecido el cultivo, y las variables evaluadas fueron: número de raíces, masa seca de raíces, índice de cosecha y producción total por hectárea. Se utilizó un diseño experimental de bloques completos al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Canales Description An account of the resource Adequate water resources management includes understanding patterns and spatiotemporal variability of precipitation, as this variable is determinant for ecosystems’ stability, food security, and most human activities. Based on satellite estimations validated through ground measurements from 59 meteorological stations, the objective of this study is to evaluate the long-term spatiotemporal variability and trends of the average monthly precipitation in the Magdalena Department, Colombia, for the 1981–2018 period. This heterogeneous region comprises many different ecoregions in its 23,188 km2 area. The analysis of spatial variability allowed for the determination of four different subregions based on the differences in the average values of precipitation and the degree of rainfall variability. The trend analysis indicates that the current rainfall patterns contradict previous estimates of a progressive decrease in annual averages due to climate change in the study region, as most of the department does not exhibit statistically significant trends, except for the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta area, where this study found reductions between 10 mm yr−1 and 30 mm yr−1. The findings of this study also suggest the existence of some links between precipitation patterns with regional phenomena of climate variability and solar activity. Durante las últimas décadas la presión sobre la disponibilidad se ha acentuado debido a los cambios ambientales observados como resultado del desarrollo industrial. En este trabajo se analizan la evolución y variabilidad recientes (1961-2005) de los recursos hídricos superficiales –el caudal en los ríos– en una de las cuencas hidrográficas de mayor entidad de la Península Ibérica, y los factores ambientales responsables de su evolución. Los resultados del trabajo muestran un descenso notable y generalizado en los caudales en la región, acompañado de un cambio en los regímenes fluviales. La evolución del clima, con unas precipitaciones muy variables pero sin tendencias notables a largo plazo, y unas temperaturas en aumento, explica en parte, pero no en su totalidad, el descenso hidrológico. En las cabeceras fluviales se ha detectado un incremento significativo de la cubierta vegetal durante el periodo de estudio, el cual parece estar participando en gran medida en el descenso de caudales. Por otro lado, la regulación por medio de embalses está incrementando en la cuenca y con ello contribuyendo al cambio hidrológico en la región. Los resultados obtenidos ofrecen la base conceptual para proyectar la disponibilidad futura de los recursos hídricos en los escenarios de mayor escasez como consecuencia del cambio climático venidero. El SSPi pueden producir 12 veces más carne que el pastoreo extensivo y 4.5 veces más que los pastos mejorados sin árboles pero las emisiones de metano (CH4) no se incrementan en igual proporción siendo 6.8 y 2.8 veces mayores en el SSPi respectivamente, razón por la cual las emisiones del mismo gas por tonelada de carne son 1.8 veces menores en el SSPi que en el pastoreo extensivo. En pastoreo extensivo, para producir 10,000 toneladas de carne se requieren casi 150,000 hectáreas de tierra, que además tienen un balance negativo de emisiones de CO2 eq (más de 48,000 ton). Por el contrario, si la misma cantidad de carne se produce con SSPi, se requieren tan solo algo más de doce mil hectáreas que además tienen un balance de GEI positivo, reduciendo las emisiones de CO2eq en más de 3,000 toneladas. En cuanto a adaptación al CC, los SSPi la favorecen porque mantienen la humedad del suelo, reducen las altas temperaturas ambientales en los potreros mejorando también la productividad y calidad de los forrajes, además de reducir la estacionalidad de la producción de carne y leche. En condiciones de la región del Caribe seco de Colombia, los SSPi reducen la temperatura promedio anual (2 a 3 ºC; en los días más calientes las diferencias llegan a ser hasta de 13ºC); incrementan la humedad relativa en las regiones secas (entre 10 y 20%) y reducen la evapotranspiración (1.8 mm/día). Se concluye que es los SSPi aportan a la mitigación y la adaptación de la ganadería tropical al CC.
