A pandemia da COVID-19 afetou os cursos de graduação da área da Saúde, que se viram diante de um dilema sobre como conciliar a responsabilidade social de participar da atenção à saúde da população no município e no estado com as demandas de biossegurança impostas pela pandemia. Na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), há 14 cursos da área da Saúde que compartilham do mesmo espaço, dos mesmos recursos e das mesmas políticas acadêmicas. Pensar juntos sobre os desafios vivenciados foi um movimento de solidariedade, integração e coesão. O objetivo deste artigo é relatar essa experiência. São descritos o contexto antes da pandemia, a atuação diante de portarias ministeriais, a elaboração de diretrizes para o ensino remoto emergencial e a situação dos estágios curriculares. Destaca-se a importância da construção coletiva no enfrentamento das dificuldades para garantir a segurança, a equidade e a qualidade na formação de profissionais da saúde na UFMG.

Desde o final do século XIX, a Ecologia vem passando por processos de ampliação e diversificação. Por isso, o presente estudo identificou os paradigmas que perpassam as propostas pedagógicas dos cursos de graduação em Ecologia. Entendemos cada curso como expressão de pensamentos e ações de uma comunidade científica, os quais influenciam a construção das concepções profissionais, bem como os conteúdos e as formas de suas investigações. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como qualitativa, de cunho documental e hermenêutico. Foram analisados todos os cursos de graduação em Ecologia no Brasil, que são oito no total. Concluímos que os projetos estruturados, a partir da virada do século, contemplam perspectivas mais complexas, ou seja, compreende-se que os organismos não são apenas partes de comunidades ecológicas, mas complexos ecossistemas, contendo uma multidão de organismos menores, dotados de uma considerável autonomia e, não obstante, harmoniosamente integrados no funcionamento do todo.

Las curvas Intensidad-Duración-Frecuencia (IDF) actuales suponen que la precipitación no varía significativamente con el tiempo, subestimando así sus eventos extremos, lo que aumenta el riesgo de inundaciones y de daños en la infraestructura, es por esto que se deben estudiar metodologías que permitan su estimación en condición de cambio climático, es decir, con un enfoque no estacionario, tal como en este estudio, en el que se estimaron curvas IDF estacionarias y no estacionarias para 9 estaciones pluviográficas dispuestas sobre la cuenca del río Medellín. Para ajustar las series de tiempo de precipitación se hizo uso de la distribución de valores extremos EV1, sus parámetros estacionarios fueron calculados por medio del método de los L-momentos y los no estacionarios por el de ventanas móviles. Se evidencia el efecto del cambio climático en intensidades altas y duraciones pequeñas, obteniéndose que el enfoque estacionario puede subestimar los eventos extremos hasta en un 39%.

The near-pristine bog ecosystems of Tierra del Fuego in southernmost Patagonia have so far not been studied in terms of their current carbon dioxide (CO2) sink strength. CO2 flux data from Southern Hemisphere peatlands are scarce in general. In this study, we present CO2 net ecosystem exchange (NEE) fluxes from two Fuegian bog ecosystems with contrasting vegetation communities. One site is located in a glaciogenic valley and developed as a peat moss-dominated raised bog, and the other site is a vascular plant-dominated cushion bog located at the coast of the Beagle Channel. We measured NEE fluxes with two identical eddy covariance (EC) setups at both sites for more than 2 years. With the EC method, we were able to observe NEE fluxes on an ecosystem level and at high temporal resolution. Using a mechanistic modeling approach, we estimated daily NEE models to gap fill and partition the half-hourly net CO2 fluxes into components related to photosynthetic uptake (gross primary production, GPP) and to total ecosystem respiration (TER). We found a larger relative variability of annual NEE sums between both years at the moss-dominated site. A warm and dry first year led to comparably high TER sums. Photosynthesis was also promoted by warmer conditions but less strongly than TER with respect to absolute and relative GPP changes. The annual NEE carbon (C) uptake was more than 3 times smaller in the warm year. Close to the sea at the cushion bog site, the mean temperature difference between both observed years was less pronounced, and TER stayed on similar levels. A higher amount of available radiation in the second observed year led to an increase in GPP (5 %) and NEE (35 %) C uptake. The average annual NEE-C uptake of the cushion bog (-122±76 gm-2a-1, n=2) was more than 4 times larger than the average uptake of the moss-dominated bog (-27±28 gm-2a-1, n=2).

O cultivo da amora-preta é recente no Brasil. A espécie apresenta elevada adaptabilidade, baixa exigência em frio, facilidade de manejo, rusticidade e pouca utilização de defensivos agrícolas. É uma fruta que vem despertando elevada atenção dos consumidores devido à presença de compostos fenólicos com propriedades antioxidantes. Com este trabalho, objetivou-se analisar o custo de produção do cultivo da amora-preta, em primeiro ano de produção. Para estimar a matriz de coeficientes técnicos e os custos de produção, em 2007, os preços de venda foram levantados junto a um produtor, e o restante das informações foi obtido de um experimento. De acordo com os dados e os cálculos de custos, a primeira produção da cultura foi de 3.000 kg.ha-1, com custo de implantação e condução, no primeiro ano, de R$ 8.710,63, e no segundo ano, apresentou custo de R$ 6.467,50. o custo de produção foi relativamente baixo comparado com outras frutíferas perenes cultivadas na região, evidenciando que esta atividade pode ser mais uma alternativa de renda para agricultura familiar.Growing blackberry is quite recent in Brazil. The species gets easily adapted, with low cooling demand and low use of agrochemicals. This fruit has drawn the attention of the consumers due to the presence of phenolic compounds with anti-oxidizing features. This research aimed at analyzing blackberry crops economically, on the first production year. In order to estimate the technical coefficients matrix and the producing costs, the prices were surveyed from a producer and the rest of the data were obtained from an experiment in 2007. According to the data and the calculated costs, in the first yield was 3000 kg ha-1, with cost producing and cultivation for the first year of R$ 8,710.63 and the second year had a cost of R$ 6,467.50. The producing costs were low in comparison with others perennials fruit crops in this region, showing that this activity can be an alternative for smallholders.

A região agreste do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte, por ser a de maior produção de mandioca, carece de estudos sobre custo e lucratividade dessa histórica cultura agrícola. A mandioca apresenta-se como opção de cultivo, entretanto, necessitando de maiores estudos referentes à sua exploração nessa região. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo analisar os custos e a lucratividade do cultivo de mandioca de dois agroecossistemas familiares de Bom Jesus-RN, sendo um convencional e outro. Para tanto, visitou-se dois agroecossistemas locais, objetivando levantar os coeficientes técnicos desta atividade e seus indicadores de lucratividade. Após as análises realizadas, constatou-se que no período avaliado, o agroecossistema alternativo mostrou-se mais sustentável economicamente do que o convencional. Além disso, percebeu-se que a mandioca, no policultivo, tem apresentado uma excelente opção de cultivo no contexto da agricultura familiar.

Research background: Identifying customer behaviour is one of the most critical activities in the implementation and evaluation of the analytical phase of the company’s algorithm for marketing activities. Analyses are performed based on of research activities aimed at identifying the psychological processes of an individual, related to the selection of goods and services to meet his needs and desires, the distribution of his available resources (money, time, effort) into items related to consumption and overall perception and thinking of the customer in a specific time period. The emergence of a global crisis, Covid-19, has significantly changed consumer behaviour in the market, shopping motives and consumer sentiment. This aspect has prompted several studies that have placed great emphasis on identifying factors influencing customer behaviour during this specific period. Purpose of the article: The article presents the results of these analyses, which were carried out during the initial stages of the emergence and spread of the pandemic. Methods: The methods used to address this issue were based on the analysis, synthesis and comparison of data obtained by primary and secondary research, as well as the use of methods of deduction and induction, to draw general and specific conclusions related to the topic. Findings & Value added: he results of the findings not only confirm the expected change in customer behaviour in times of crisis, but the added value of solving this problem is to obtain important evidence for immediate decision-making and management of companies in times of crisis caused by “force majeure”.

In the COVID-19 pandemic, global health care systems have become overwhelmed with potentially infectious patients seeking testing and care. Preventing spread of infection to and from health care workers (HCWs) and patients relies on effective use of personal protective equipment(PPE). The most critical part in due course of managing this pandemic is adequate supply of PPEs. We have customized a PPE which is economical and reusable after proper disinfection. This customized PPE can be a solution to conservation of supply during this pandemic.
