A mechanical provision of elevated temperature focused in a body region of high viral activity in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation may offer a therapeutic option that avoids arrhythmias seen with some pharmaceutical treatments. This study investigated the potential to actively provide core warming to the lungs of patients with a commercially available heat transfer device via mathematical modeling, and examined the influence of blood perfusion on temperature using this approach. Methods: Using the software Comsol Multiphysics, the authors modeled and simulated heat transfer in the body from an intraesophageal warming device, taking into account the airflow from patient ventilation. The simulation was focused on heat transfer and warming of the lungs and performed on a simplified geometry of an adult human body and airway from the pharynx to the lungs. Results: Simulations were run over a range of values for blood perfusion rate, since the heat capacity and density remain relatively constant. The highest temperature in this case is the device warming water temperature, and that heat diffuses by conduction to the nearby tissues, including the air flowing in the airways. At the range of blood perfusion investigated, maximum lung temperature ranged from 37.6 to 38.6°C. Conclusions: The provision of core warming may offer an innovative approach to treating infectious diseases from viral illnesses such as COVID-19, while avoiding the arrhythmogenic complications of currently used pharmaceutical treatments. Indeed, the ‘sustainability’ of contemporary urban life (understood as the expanded reproduction of its socio-physical form and functions) is responsible for 80% of the world’s use of resources and most of the world’s waste. We wish to highlight how these urban origins are routinely ignored in urban theory and practice, and how feeble techno-managerial attempts to produce more ‘sustainable’ forms of urban living are actually heightening the combined and uneven socio-ecological apocalypse that marks the contemporary dynamics of planetary urbanization. This paper is, therefore, not so much concerned with the question of nature IN the city, as it is with the urbanization OF nature, understood as the process through which all forms of nature are socially mobilized, economically incorporated and physically metabolized/transformed in order to support the urbanization process. First, we shall chart the strange history of how the relationship between cities and environments has been scripted and imagined over the last century or so. Second, we shall suggest how the environmental question entered urban theory and practice in the late 20th century. And, finally, we shall explore how and why, despite our growing understanding of the relationship between environmental change and urbanization and a consensual focus on the need for ‘sustainable’ urban development, the environmental conundrum and the pervasive problems it engenders do not show any sign of abating. Durante um período de 27 semanas foram realizadas visitas semanais à feira do município, para identificação dos produtos levados à mesma, pelos feirantes, assim como origem, modo de produção e transporte dos mesmos. Foram identificados 23 feirantes assíduos à feira, sendo que todos comercializam produtos de produção própria. Na lista dos alimentos mais comercializados estão laranja, banana, cebolinha, couve e ovo. A identificação dos principais alimentos comercializados revela um sistema de produção pautado pela oferta local de recursos e relacionado ao ambiente, clima e tipo de solo da região. Conclui-se que a feira é um importante local de comercialização da agricultura familiar local e, desta maneira, conhecer sua dinâmica e incentivar seu adequado funcionamento, significa facilitar o acesso da população a uma maior variedade de produtos, além de contribuir para a economia local. Palabras clave: Seguridad Alimentaria, valor nutricional, alimento, cereales, producción, comercialización.   The change in the food pattern in developing countries and in the lifestyles of the population, have modified the way of eating, so this research focuses on the development of a business plan for the creation of a company producing and marketing flour based on pumpkin pulp, in the city of Machala, the aim is to determine the economic feasibility of the project, desired characteristics of the product for the final consumer, by conducting a market study, and financial analysis through the development of cash flow, to verify the economic viability; the main tool for obtaining primary information was the survey, a random sample was made with descriptive statistics variables, the results obtained were tabulated through a database developed in Excel, and analyzed through the statistical program SPSS version 24; based on the results obtained that the demand for pumpkin flour is in the middle and upper middle social class, with a presentation of the product of 250 gr at a cost of $1.10 ctvs. Once the different financial indicators are applied, a net present value (NPV) of USD $211,895.88 is obtained; an internal rate of return (IRR) of 29%, which is higher than the initial interest rate, is recommended for immediate acceptance, the investment is recovered in a period of 4 years and 5 months approximately. Frente al tema, académicos y movimientos sociales han propuesto nuevas formas de abordar el contenido y alcance del derecho humano al agua que van desde la valoración de su carácter colectivo y común hasta democratización de la gestión del agua y las reflexiones sobre los derechos de la naturaleza. Este artículo tiene como objetivo central caracterizar algunos de esos nuevos enfoques del derecho humano al agua, analizar su reconocimiento y garantía en Colombia y con base en ello proponer un contenido normativo que permita integrar este derecho en la gestión de cuencas hidrográficas. Finalmente, concluye la importancia de reconocer el derecho humano al agua en la ordenación y manejo de cuencas, teniendo como base los criterios de gobernanza, gobernabilidad y soberanía.
