<text>COVID-19 painfully demonstrates how little resilience our societies have to novel viruses. Societies, decision makers, and scientists lack (1) a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of viral outbreaks and their impact on society; (2) intervention portfolios; and (3) a global crisis and resilience policy, all of which are required to develop appropriate measures and to improve societal resilience. We highlight COVID-19 immunity as one key benchmark in preparation for the next wave of the pandemic. Specifically, using network scenarios, we demonstrate the substantial advantage of reintegrating health care workers with acquired COVID-19 immunity in epidemic hotspots, which would not only enable their safe contribution to the health care system but also drastically contain further spread.</text>

                <text>Biofertilizers are organic products usually obtained from an anaerobic process, evaluated mainly as phytoprotectors for agriculture, although they can improve fruit production. By this way, a field experiment was carried out in Remígio County, Paraiba State, Brazil, to evaluate the effects of two bovine biofertilizers on yield, medium mass and quality of papaya fruits (Carica papaya L.), ‘Baixinho de Santa Amália’ cultivar. Treatments were distributed in a randomized complete blocks design with three replications and 15 plants in each parcel, in a 2 x 5 factorial arrangement, with two biofertilizers: simple (water and fresh bovine manure) and supermagro (water, fresh bovine manure, macro and micronutrients and a protein mix), applied in soil under liquid form at five volumes, as follows: 0.0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; e 2.0 L cave-1. There was no statistical difference between biofertilizers for fruit mass, yield and external and internal fruit quality variables, while between volumes differences were registered for both biofertilizers. The results, except for fruit firmness, registered positive effects of the biofertilizers on ‘Baixinho de Santa Amália’ papaya cultivar in relation to yield and physical and chemical fruit quality.

In this way, one experiment was carried out in Remígio, Paraíba State, Brazil, to evaluate the leaf nutrient status, at the beginning of the blooming stage, and the exportation of sodium, macro, and micronutrients of the “Baixinho de Santa Amália” papaya cultivar. A complete randomized blocks experimental design was used in a 2x5 factorial arrangement, referring to pure biofertilizer and biofertilizer enriched with sodium, macro, and micronutrients, under 0.0 L plant-1; 0.5 L plant-1; 1.0 L plant-1; 1.5 L plant-1; and 2.0 L plant-1 doses, applied to soil under their liquid form. At the beginning of the blooming stage, all plants were adequately supplied with nitrogen, potassium, sulfur, boron, cooper, and zinc, but deficient in phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese. The most exported nutrients were potassium, among the macronutrients, and iron, among the micronutrients.

KEY-WORDS: Carica papaya L.; biofertilizer; mineral status.
</text>

                <text>O Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar (Pronaf) incluiu agricultores familiares no quadro das políticas públicas, ao seguir as tendências das políticas da década de 1990 de democratizar acesso a recursos financeiros. A sustentabilidade foi inserida no programa. Neste estudo, o propósito geral foi analisar os objetivos do Pronaf, no contexto do desenvolvimento econômico. Considerou-se que o Pronaf não permitiria avaliar a relação entre atividades desenvolvidas e resultados obtidos pelo programa. Assim, seria inconsistente. Além de analisar documentos oficiais, outros objetivos específicos foram analisar a consistência do Pronaf e, em caso de inconsistência, propor uma matriz de estrutura lógica. Nenhum projeto foi encontrado, apenas a legislação. A análise desta não permitiu o preenchimento da matriz e isso indica inconsistência. Propôs-se uma matriz completa.</text>
