                <text>The coronavirus pandemic is a new reality, and it severely affects the modus vivendi of the international community. In this context, governments are rushing to devise or embrace novel surveillance mechanisms and monitoring systems to fight the outbreak. The development of digital tracing apps, which among others are aimed at automatising and globalising the prompt alerting of individuals at risk in a privacy-preserving manner, is a prominent example of this ongoing effort. Very promptly, a number of digital contact tracing architectures have been sprouted, followed by relevant app implementations adopted by governments worldwide. Bluetooth, specifically its Low Energy (BLE) power-conserving variant, has emerged as the most promising short-range wireless network technology to implement the contact tracing service. This work offers the first to our knowledge full-fledged review of the most concrete contact tracing architectures proposed so far in a global scale. This endeavour does not only embrace the diverse types of architectures and systems, namely, centralised, decentralised, or hybrid, but also equally addresses the client side, i.e., the apps that have been already deployed in Europe by each country. There is also a full-spectrum adversary model section, which does not only amalgamate the previous work in the topic but also brings new insights and angles to contemplate upon.</text>

                <text>Efficacy of antitumor vaccination depends to a large extent on antigen targeting to dendritic cells (DCs). Here, we assessed antitumor immunity induced by attenuated coronavirus vectors which exclusively target DCs in vivo and express either lymphocyte- or DC-activating cytokines in combination with a GFP-tagged model antigen. Tracking of in vivo transduced DCs revealed that vectors encoding for Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) exhibited a higher capacity to induce DC maturation compared to vectors delivering IL-2 or IL-15. Moreover, Flt3L vectors more efficiently induced tumor-specific CD8(+) T cells, expanded the epitope repertoire, and provided both prophylactic and therapeutic tumor immunity. In contrast, IL-2- or IL-15-encoding vectors showed a substantially lower efficacy in CD8(+) T cell priming and failed to protect the host once tumors had been established. Thus, specific in vivo targeting of DCs with coronavirus vectors in conjunction with appropriate conditioning of the microenvironment through Flt3L represents an efficient strategy for the generation of therapeutic antitumor immunity.</text>

                <text>RESUMEN Dendrocereus nudiflorus es una especie amenazada de cactus cubano cuyas poblaciones muestran una distribución disyunta y están integradas principalmente por individuos adultos. El conocimiento sobre la ecología de esta especie es muy escaso y las causas naturales de su reducido número de individuos se desconocen. El presente estudio exploró dos hipótesis sobre las causas naturales que pudieron afectar las poblaciones de D. nudiflorus, así como, se consideraron dos escenarios futuros para evaluar el posible impacto del cambio climático sobre esta especie e identificar zonas de importancia para su conservación. Mediante la modelación del nicho climático de D. nudiflorus se evaluaron los cambios en la extensión y distribución espacial de sus áreas de idoneidad climática en cuatro momentos. Por otra parte, también se exploró el posible papel que pudieron desempeñar Megalocnus rodens y Cyclura nubila sobre la dispersión de D. nudiflorus en base al análisis de la superposición de los modelos paleoclimáticos de ambas especies. Los resultados mostraron una drástica reducción en las áreas de idoneidad climática de D. nudiflorus desde el Último Máximo Glacial al Holoceno. De acuerdo a las áreas de idoneidad climática para los posibles dispersores, C. nubila debió jugar un papel importante en la dispersión de esta cactácea, mientras que el contraste de los modelos paleoclimáticos entre la cactácea y M. rodens muestran poca coincidencia. Aunque para el 2050 la especie de cactus debe permanecer en áreas protegidas, su tendencia es a reducir sus áreas de idoneidad climática. Los resultados apoyan la necesidad de un plan de recuperación para la especie en áreas del Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas.   Palabras clave: áreas de idoneidad climática, cambio climático, Cyclura nubila, Megalocnus rodens, modelación de distribución, ruptura de interacción   ABSTRACT Dendrocereus nudiflorus is an endangered species of Cuban cactus primarily composed of adult individuals with disconnected populations. Ecological knowledge of the species is limited and the natural causes of its deteriorated condition are unclear. Herein we evaluate two natural causes hypothesized to affect D. nudiflorus populations. Furthermore, we consider two future scenarios to evaluate the possible impact of climate change on this species and to identify important zones for its conservation. Using climatic niche modeling of D. nudiflorus, we evaluate changes in the extent and spatial distribution of its climatically suitable areas over four time periods. We further use the overlap analysis of paleoclimatic models of Megalocnus rodens and Cyclura nubila to explore their suspected roles in the dispersal of D. nudiflorus. Results show a drastic reduction in the climatically suitable areas of D. nudiflorus from the Last Glacial Maximum to the Holocene. Based on climatically suitable areas for the suspected dispersers, C. nubila is thought to play an important role in cactacea dispersal, while there were few significant overlaps in the paleoclimatic models between M. rodens and this cactus. Although D. nudiflorus is projected to remain in protected areas through 2050, its tendency is to reduce its climatically suitable areas. The results support the need for a recuperation plan for this cactus species through the National System of Protected Areas.                 <text>Analysis of the temporal, seasonal and demographic distribution of dengue virus (DENV) infections in Barbados was conducted using national surveillance data from a total of 3994 confirmed dengue cases. Diagnosis was confirmed either by DENV–specific real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (rRT–PCR), or non–structural protein 1 (NS1) antigen or enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) tests; a case fatality rate of 0.4% (10/3994) was observed. The prevalence rate of dengue fever (DF) varied from 27.5 to 453.9 cases per 100,000 population among febrile patients who sought medical attention annually. DF cases occurred throughout the year with low level of transmission observed during the dry season (December to June), then increased transmission during rainy season (July to November) peaking in October. Three major dengue epidemics occurred in Barbados during 2010, 2013 and possibly 2016 with an emerging three–year interval. DF prevalence rate among febrile patients who sought medical attention overall was highest among the 10–19 years old age group. The highest DF hospitalisation prevalence rate was observed in 2013. Multiple serotypes circulated during the study period and Dengue virus serotype 2 (DENV–2) was the most prevalent serotype during 2010, whilst DENV–1 was the most prevalent serotype in 2013. Two DENV–1 strains from the 2013 DENV epidemic were genetically more closely related to South East Asian strains, than Caribbean or South American strains, and represent the first ever sequencing of DENV strains in Barbados. However, the small sample size (n = 2) limits any meaningful conclusions. DF prevalence rates were not significantly different between females and males. Public health planning should consider DENV inter–epidemic periodicity, the current COVID–19 pandemic and similar clinical symptomology between DF and COVID–19. The implementation of routine sequencing of DENV strains to obtain critical data can aid in battling DENV epidemics in Barbados.</text>

                <text>At present, the global pandemic as it relates to novel coronavirus pneumonia is still a very difficult situation. Due to the recent outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia, novel chest X-ray (CXR) images that can be used for deep learning analysis are very rare. To solve this problem, we propose a deep learning framework that integrates a convolutional neural network and a capsule network. DenseCapsNet, a new deep learning framework, is formed by the fusion of a dense convolutional network (DenseNet) and the capsule neural network (CapsNet), leveraging their respective advantages and reducing the dependence of convolutional neural networks on a large amount of data. Using 750 CXR images of lungs of healthy patients as well as those of patients with other pneumonia and novel coronavirus pneumonia, the method can obtain an accuracy of 90.7% and an F1 score of 90.9%, and the sensitivity for detecting COVID-19 can reach 96%. These results show that the deep fusion neural network DenseCapsNet has good performance in novel coronavirus pneumonia CXR radiography detection.</text>

                <text>Se estimó la densidad poblacional (DP) del venado temazate rojo (Mazama temama) en la Sierra Norte-Nororiental (SNNO) y Sierra Negra (SN) de estado de Puebla, México. La metodología utilizada fue de tipo indirecto, mediante el conteo de huellas en transectos de un kilómetro de largo; seis transectos en tres localidades de la SNNO, y cinco en dos localidades de la SN. Los resultados obtenidos varían entre 8,3 y 3,7 venados/Km2, correspondientes a 12,1 y 27 ha/individuo respectivamente. La prueba estadística de Ji-cuadrada indicó que entre ambas sierras, no hay diferencias estadísticas significativas en la DP. Si se compara la DP del venado temazate rojo en el estado de Puebla, con los resultados obtenidos en diferentes sitios de México, que varían desde 0,1 hasta 6,6 venados/Km2, se deduce que la DP del venado temazate en Puebla es similar a otras zonas del país. Sin embargo, el tamaño poblacional mínimo viable (TPMV), considerado en 500 individuos, no se cumple, por lo que se recomienda manejar el cérvido a nivel de microrregión o en conjuntos prediales, para incrementar la superficie de manejo. Mientras tanto, es recomendable continuar los estudios de DP en otras localidades de ambas sierras, para determinar a futuro su posible uso racional mediante la caza deportiva. Se concluye que al estar sujeto actualmente a la caza ilegal, su población se encuentra en estado de vulnerabilidad.</text>

                <text>En Isla Gorgona se registran dos subespecies endémicas de mamíferos arbóreos, el Mono capuchino de pecho blanco (Cebus capucinus curtus) y el Perezoso de tres dedos de garganta marrón (Bradypus variegatus gorgon), especies importante para la conservación debido a su carácter endémico y papel ecológico como dispersores de semillas en el PNN Gorgona. En este trabajo se presenta información sobre la ecología poblacional de estas dos subespecies, utilizando el método de muestreo por distancia con transectos lineales para establecer la densidad, además se describió la estructura etaria general de cada población con base en los muestreos y observaciones directas. La densidad de C. capucinus curtus en isla Gorgona fue de 170,6 ind/km² (IC 95%=122,0-238,4 ind/km²) mientras que para B. variegatus gorgon fue de 2,6 ind/km² (IC 95%=1,3-4,9 ind/km²). El registro de densidad de C. capucinus curtus en isla Gorgona es el más alto para la especie en todo su rango de distribución geográfica, mientras que el de B. variegatus gorgon es el más bajo reportado para la especie. La alta densidad de C. capucinus curtus estaría relacionada con un efecto sinérgico entre la baja depredación natural y la continua disponibilidad de alimento, mientras que la baja densidad de B. variegatus gorgon estaría relacionada con la presión de caza realizada en el pasado, la baja tasa reproductiva de la especie y una pandemia ocurrida en el año 2005. Se recomienda el monitoreo constante de las poblaciones y estudios de salud poblacional para B. variegatus gorgon.</text>

                <text>The aim of this study was to evaluate the production of Freshwater Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) in different stocking densities in cages polycultured with Amazon River Prawn (Macrobrachium amazonicum). Four treatments were evaluated (1; 2; 3 and 4 fish.10 L-1) using two ponds and 24 experimental units. Water quality parameter reached adequate levels for the species. Production data were submitted to ANOVA. Fish produced in the lowest density showed higher values of final weight and standard length, and lower total biomass in comparison with the others treatments. Feed conversion rate, survival, batch uniformity and body factor were not significant different among treatments. The highest density tested produced more fish and gross yield than the others treatments. The density 20 fish.10L-1 is recommended to produce Freshwater Angelfish in cages polycultured with Amazon River Prawn.</text>

                <text>Este trabalho teve como objetivo verificar a influência da densidade do camarão de água doce sobre o desempenho do tambaqui em condições de laboratório. A coleta para a pesquisa foi realizada em uma piscicultura no município do Cantá (RR). No laboratório foram utilizados como unidades experimentais 18 caixas com volume de 40 litros que possuíam área de superfície equivalente a 0,75 m² de lâmina d’água, onde foram aclimatados os peixes e camarões e posteriormente, iniciado o experimento com duração prevista de 30 dias. Dos camarões amostrados foram identificadas as espécies Macrobrachium amazonicum e M. jelski; e um morfotipo Macrobrachium sp1. Nenhuma das variáveis dos índices de desempenho apresentou diferenças significativas (p &lt; 0,05) entre os tratamentos. Embora os camarões tenham morrido até o 20o dia do experimento, o policultivo teve efeito positivo sobre o desempenho dos tambaquis. </text>
